My corelle plates now have a dull finish and so does my stainless, as well as my now cloudy glasswear. Everything feels sticky and coated. This happened when I began using cascade from the new box with Dawn marking and lemon scent. I've used cascade for many years before this without a problem.
How can I correct this???  And can I get a refund for this inferior "new" product?

I had the same problem as everyone else, just this month August 2013, so they have known about this for awhile yet continue to sell it.
Here is what I heard back from an email that I sent only saying my dishwasher has a white film and what should I use to get rid of it
They obviously know that there solution is going to cost the homeowner mega bucks just to send back a 3.1 litre jug and get a repair man in when everyone knows that just that is a 100.00 at least charge before they even come.
    Smart marketing.....
    here is there response
    Thanks for contacting Cascade,

I’m very sorry about your experience. Our products are thoroughly evaluated to ensure they won’t cause damage when used as directed. We appreciate your bringing this to our attention and you can be sure I’m sharing your report with the rest of our team.

Since you’ve provided your mailing address, I’m also sending you materials to start a damage claim. Please keep in mind, our final decision on your claim will be based on a review of the information you return to us and an analysis of the product. Submission of a damage claim does not guarantee compensation.

I’m sending pre-paid mailing materials via postal mail for you to return the following items:

    • The P&G product.
    • Your completed damage claim questionnaire (the questionnaire will be included in our mailing).
    • Twelve photographs showing us the damage. Note: We’re unable to view email attachments, so please do not send us photos via email.
    • Two estimates for repair on the letterhead of the company/shop performing the work.
    • Any other materials or information which might help us learn more about your experience.

The materials I’m sending should arrive in 2-3 weeks. Remember to return the product as we are unable to investigate your claim without it. Once we receive all of these items in our office, we’ll be in touch via postal mail with our findings. Please be aware the investigation process can take 6-8 weeks.

    Thanks again for writing.

I have a complaint, too.  Are any of you getting any responses back?  I hate this stuff!  I've never had white film on my dishes like I have with this!  Will the grocery store take it back?

Sorry, I didn't read all your messages.  I'm going to see if my store will take it back and locate the receipt, if I kept it from two days ago.  This is so frustrating!

I am also having a problem with a gooey residue on the edges of plates  It's not the white etching effect  It's sticky to the touch.  I can hand wash it off quite easily, but I am mystified as to what it is.  I'm going to try the Finish Gel Pas and see if that works.  I'm already using the Finish packets with the red center.  Doesn't work.

Puzzling that this whole discussion is taking place with no mention of the class action suit that Cascade so richly deserves. My mother's stainless tableware has turned black due to Cascade's formula change, and I'd Googled the problem to find out what one can do about it. Nothing, you seem to be saying?  I'm not one to grin and bear it, and if it turns out that Cascade is responsible for the damage discussed here, as would appear to be the case, I'm going to go after the company with an elephant gun, legally speaking.

I switched to Finish with the red dot in the middle and the liquid Finish rinse. I open the cap in the rinse cycle liquid access door (in the dishwasher door) poured in the Finish rinse, and re-installed the cap. That is the best results I have obtained in getting my dishes clean and spot free. By the way, this is a nine year old Frigidaire stainless steel dishwasher that worked great until Cascade removed the phosphates! I tried every new phosphate free Cascade configuration and it is worthless! I even used no detergent and that actually worked better because the load had no white film on the glasses or any tint to the silverware!

Well here it is April 2014 and apparently nothing has changed. Just switched from Finish to Cascade with Dawn lemon scent and my silverware looks horrible!!

    Not an idiot
You obviously do not believe in truth in advertising. I am tired of companies thinking they can say anything they want and we will blindly believe every word. If you insist on pointing out the food is baked on, make sure it is. What you are showing is obviously just smeared on the pan. Pleeeeeeease stop lying to people. Do not say it if it is not true, you might be surprised how many will use it if they are not miss led.

I have a big bottle of Apple blossom dawn dish washing soap.  It is the worst smelling dish soap I have ever used.  It almost. Gags me!

I know this is an old thread, but I would like to post my experience.  The new Cascade packs, the 8X, 15X, whatever their "power" is supposed to be -- has ruined many of my dishes.  My 50 year old Pyrex colored bowl set?  The color is now dull and almost gone.  A brand new Pyrex glass measuring cup with the measurements printed on the side?  Two times through the dishwasher, and the print is gone! Gratefully Pyrex immediately responded and replaced it, but what about the rest of my dishes and silverware that have their finishes ruined?  And NOTHING restores them that I have found.  My husband has tried to polish some stainless steel with an electric car polisher, and it barely helped.  We've even replaced our dishwasher during this fiasco, so I can't blame that.  It all goes back to Cascade.

I don’t usually use Cascade but have recently purchased a box of Cascade power clean 11x tablets. I have an 8 year old high end Bosch dishwasher. After about 2 washes with the new tabs, most of the design pattern was stripped off my 8 year old Corelle dishes which had kept their patterned colour just fine for the past 8 years. I am livid and called the 1-800 # on the box of cascade to complain. Just a PSA to those dealing with this issue - P&G Cascade have a Damage claim process for these issues and I fully expect them to replace my affected dishes. Luckily I bought the cascade at Costco which stands behind all their products so if cascade doesn’t deal with my claim to my satisfaction then I’ll take it up with Costco. I cannot believe how many people have just accepted that their dish wares are ruined and NOT contacted Cascade to rectify it! There’s a 1-800 # on the box for a reason people, if that doesn’t work then there’s good ol’ Google - I’d be calling P&G customer service and voicing my concerns until something gets resolved.
