Willfully breaking "Do not call" laws

Complaint

Every attempt has been made to stop the harrassment from this company, to no avail!

606 834 8725 Lester, Inc

*when I pick up phone, nobody answers
*when I don't pick up the phone, no messages are left on my voice mail
*when I attemp to call the number, no one answers, or there is a
computerized "mailbox full" message after dozens of rings.
I have reported this phone number to the National-Do-Not-Call registry, and no action has apparently been taken against them.

There must be some way to stop this group of leeches!
Maybe a barrage of complaints from recipients of these calls.

I also called 606-833-0102 and spoke to a woman who took our phone number and said that she would give the nummber to the supervisor to be put on their do not call list.

I have been getting calls from Lester Inc every day 2-3 times a day and the first phone call is usually at 8:30 a.m. My number is registered on the Do Not Call list.

I received two calls from this company.  Once on Jul 13 and once on Jul 27.  Both on a Monday and in the morning and fortunately I was not home.  Recently I purchased a new cordless phone, Panasonic, which allows me to block selected calls.  I have added Lester, Inc to the list of blocked calls.  The phone requires Caller-id to block the calls.

this company keeps calling me without answering or leaving any message.
Any way we can stop it?
What is the purpose of the Do-Not-Call List?
    Anyone who can explain me?

I have gotten call from this annoying company for the last 2 years 2 to 3 time a day.  I just called 606-833-0102 and told the person to remove me from their call list.  They said it would take 48 business hours and I will be removed from their call list for 10 years, thank goodness!

I don't know if it will work...I'll find out 48 business hours later.  Keeping my finger crossed that I don't hear from them again...or at least for the next 10 years!

I could tell when I answered the call that it was one of those delayed pick-ups. From prior experience, I stay on the line so I can get rid of the call and not have them call back. They wanted our business information to put in their free contractors magazine. I gave them the information, making sure it was really free. They have not called back, although I havent received this magazine yet.

These guys called me three times between 3am and 3:30am on my fax line.
I have it set to answer on the first ring but still, it rings and wakes me up.  They are calling me as a collection agency for Vonage.  I cancelled and Vonage said the next year renews automagically.  That's not legal in Texas without 30 days notice.

I received this caller ID on my email, and called them back.

YOU DO have the option to OPT OUT of them calling your number. Press "2" and leave your name, phone number you want taken off of their call list with area code, and their customer or who you think may be contracting them to call on their behalf if you know it.

Thanks for the great tips everyone.  We've been getting call from them at least 3 times a week for years.  I just called the 606 number above and was promised that after 48 hours our number would be deleted from their list for 5 years.  Yeah.

I too just contacted the 606 number listed above and talked to a supervisor.  We have been getting calls from this company for a long time.  She told me that it would take up to 10 days for our number to be completely erased from their system and then they would not be able to contact us for up to 5 years after that.  Well, at least that's one telemarketer gone in a sea of many.

    To quote ChuckG, Oct2007
"When I pick up phone, nobody answers.
When I don't pick up the phone, no messages are left on my voice mail."
I've received a dozen calls in the last several weeks.
Does anyone know what their scam is?  What information are they compiling from calls that ask no questions or call that promote no point product or point of view?
Should we be more suspicions than we are angry?

I am getting incessant phone calls to my home business number!!!  This is ridiculous.  Finally, one person left a message in a disguised voice, saying, "get your lazy @$$ off the phone and call me.

I get several of these calls every day. they don`t understand the meaning of don`t call. Maybe it`s time to vote people in office that will listen to the people that vote and take care of our issues like the do not call list for one

Same from mee, they just keep call on a daily bases, and when I let the voice mail pick up, they just hang up.

I wish they would be a way to get rid of these guys, once for all

    Oh YES IT DOES, SUZ
Suz, Suz, Suz...Get your facts straight, dear!

If you request they take you off their INTERNAL call list, they MUST TAKE YOU OFF - REGARDLESS of their exempt/non-profit/political/survey-takers "status".

    http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm :
"Are calls from political organizations or calls soliciting for charities covered?
Political solicitations are not covered by the TSR at all, since they are not included in its definition of “telemarketing.” Charities are not covered by the requirements of the national registry. However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000 ."

I called the number that showed on my caller ID 203-481-8212 and was able to put myself on their DO NOT CALL list. We'll see if it works!

They called my home on a Sunday evening after 8:00 pm.  We are registered with the "Do Not Call Registry".

There's no reason to be patronizing.
