Yesterday, we received a voice message on one of our cell phones.

Someone claiming to be "Officer Robert Richman", claimed that our number, name, and social security number had been referenced as part of a "complaint", and strongly suggested that we contact them back immediately.  The number he left was 936-657-4224.  The voice on the recording had a very thick foreign accent, perhaps Indian?, and sounded as if it had been mechanically altered.  We tried calling the number back, and got a recording suggesting that we give them our name and information and they would call us back.

We called several times trying to get through, each time becoming more convinced this was a scammer. We even attempted to look the agency up on Google to find out who they were.  We eventually cot through to them, and asked them directly who them were, and what agency they worked for.  The voice answering the phone, was the same voice that had left the recording. However he would not give his name, or who he worked for, and demanded that we tell him who we were, saying that their policy prohibited him from talking to anyone that concealed their identity.  He then went on to call us stupid for calling him, and demanded to know how we got his number.

This is absolutely a scam.

This place calls my office all the time asking for one of the FORMER EMPLOYEES, that no longer works in our office or for the company.  Every time they say they are from the US Crime Bureau investigations and the man with a very heavy Indian accent states that he is an officer.  I have told them at least 25 different times that the person they are looking for no longer works for the company and they need to find other means to contact her.  They still call back, all the time.  It started a couple of weeks ago.  They say that they are going to come to the office and have her arrested, take her to court and so on.  I am like...fine, do whatever, just stop calling and yelling at me three times a day!  The lady does not work here and we do not have current phone numbers for her (not that we would ever give them out anyway).  It just sounds weird to me, almost like a scam.  I could not imagine that a reputable or even shady US business would hire a collection agency with representitives that falsly (obviously) claim to be officers and have such thick accents to where you  cannot understand 80% of what they say!  Impersonating an officer or a government agency in itself is a crime from what all the current employees here have been told by our corporate legal dept.  They have told us to tell them to stop calling and that you will file a police report if they continue.  They do not care, they call right back.  Horrible, horrible place that just calls and harrasses business work places!  I wish we had caller block or something here in the office, but nope, just have to deal with it every single day.  Hopefully they will get the hint eventually.

I got a call like 2 weeks ago at my job that a coworker gave to me saying that a man by the name of Richard Wilson from Bureau of crime investigation. She said he had a very thick accent. He decided to call my house and the number showed up as 0000. I didnt answer and he proceeded to call my job again that time I answer the phone. He didnt knew that though (tehehe). So, I decided to call him back. He proceeded to tell me that im a criminal of fraud of checks because i owe payday loan for $450.00. I told him was a lair. HE said ma'am you have 3 accounts against you and you will go to jail and i will have you arrested. He told me if i want this action to be stopped that i can faxed them my debt card number. Like really, (Haha) picture that one. I never faxed him anything and he proceeded to call over and over again. This dude call me 5 times in 1 minute. He told me you talkinga about harrassment ma'am, u are the harrassing us by not sending your information, and if you dont send to us, i will keep calling. He told  me if i dont faxed that information that i would go to jail and he tried to be funny and said good luck to you. Now that i saw what everyone else is talking about their computer getting a virus and thats when everything started happening. I believe that's what to me. So please be aware because these people is very aggressive even after telling him that I have attorney and uncle as a police, he said let him call me then, I dont care. DONT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR INFORMATION OR THEY GOING TO MILK YOUR ACCOUNT.

Last year I was getting these phone calls, telling me I was going to jail and that a warrent would be out for my arrest for a payday loan and that I need to pay right away. I called the cops they said they had no warrent for me. I called them back and told them to go ahead and turn my case in. They hadn't called back until two days ago they started calling my mom tellin her about my case and telling her to have me call. I have called many different government agencies today. "real creditors" are not allowed to share your case info with anyone. When they called me for the 35th time this morning I told them I had contacted the FBI. "Richard martin" and "Jack johnson" ( the two names I got.) flipped out saying have the FBI call them and they were going to rape my wife and come find me. I told them to bring lots of friends. I am soldier in the US army and none of us should have to put up with this sh**. the number they called from is 845-335-5080. I have reported them to FBI, Trade commission and Jag officers of the army and they are all looking into it. Good luck to all and don't let these F**ks scare you.

I too continue to get phone calls from these people! They are going as far as calling my References (co workers) to get to me.  Another number they use is 845-335-5082. Their accent is Indian. It's all a SCAM and I threathen them by telling them that I had already reported them to the Attorny General's office and that they need to stop calling. However, they continue to leave me messages.

    It's very aggrevating!

I love how all of these yahoo's are using such basic and traditional american names like John, Matthew, Richard, etc.  but you can't understand a word that they are saying!  That was my first clue that something wasn't right, most people of middle eastern decent are proud of who they are and like to stick with traditional middle eastern names - same as the rest of us.

These same idiots have been calling me for a year and a half. They harrass me all the time. Today is the first time they have ever said they were from the "U.S. Crime Bureau" and I demanded that they give me a phone number to call them back on. The first number was a bogus number and the second number went to TruValue!!! The always have a different American name like Joe Smith Jack Daniels, that was funny and today there were two fo them, Peter Johnson and Office James Williams! Its outrageous.

I got a message on my cell phone today from a Officer Victor Brown from the US Crime Bureau for a Ashley Sigh.  There is an investigative case file and arrest warrent against one of her friends or family members.  The friend or family member had other warrents and gave Ashley Sigh's name and my number as a reference and the officer said that Ashley's name and my number is now on the black list and this friend or family member of hers should call Officer Victor Brown before anything else happens.  The number he gave to call was 904-413-8104. I called the number and a Jack (something) Johnson, not sure of the middle name, answered the phone.  He said, in order to get my number off the case file, I need to pay a $100 with a Credit, Debit, or Wal-mart Card or go to the Court House and prove who I was.  I asked which Court House and where was it.  He said I didn't need to know and that officers will being coming to my house to take me to the court house.

Make a complaint to your Attorney General AND your local congressman.  Call your credit card company immediately and make sure that the funds are reversed if they have taken them already or that they are not able to take the funds.  Inform your credit card company that you were the victim and fraudulent charges in that amount may appear for payment and that you do not authorize the charge.  They are using computer generated numbers that can not be traced, and  they are NOT located within the United States; so unfortunately there is very little that can be done.  I have tweeted their numbers several times after they have called to harrass me.  We need to press congress to require that computer generated numbers be traceable.

I am dealing with the same issue too.   The names of the people I am supposedly talking to are Jeff Giles and Frank Jones, both with heavy accents also.   But claiming to be from the U.S. Crimes Bureau.   When I spoke to them yesterday they tried to say that I have federal charges against me due to an outstanding payday loan that I actually never took out.  A month ago I found out that someone has been applying for them using my name and personal information.   I have spoken to one legitimate payday loan place and cleared everything up and they have closed the case and I am not responsible for any of the charges and my bank is working with me also.  And when I explained this to the guy on the phone, he said, "Why would anyone be stupid enough to apply for something in your name?"   and then proceeded to tell me that our entire conversation was being recorded for court purposes and they need me to admit to these charges so they could proceed with a warrent for my address.  Also tried saying that per some law, section 13.92, that I was committing cyber theft.   He then told me I had no choice but to admit to all charges, that I need to get at least 2 lawyers to represent me and that even after that I would probably be going to jail since the offense is punishable up to 6 months.  But I refused to admit to anything and told them I wanted the name of the company where I supposedly applied for this loan and the phone number, which he refused to give me.  He told me that obviously I haven't been reading my emails because all the information is in those emails.  He then got more angrier when I refused to admit to anything and told me that I was going to need all the help I could get.  I hung up on him and they called me back once at work but that's been it.    So if any of you get a call from a Frank Jones or Jeff Giles, phone number:713-287-1177, they are part of this whole group.  They are so pathetic.
