Yesterday, we received a voice message on one of our cell phones.

Someone claiming to be "Officer Robert Richman", claimed that our number, name, and social security number had been referenced as part of a "complaint", and strongly suggested that we contact them back immediately.  The number he left was 936-657-4224.  The voice on the recording had a very thick foreign accent, perhaps Indian?, and sounded as if it had been mechanically altered.  We tried calling the number back, and got a recording suggesting that we give them our name and information and they would call us back.

We called several times trying to get through, each time becoming more convinced this was a scammer. We even attempted to look the agency up on Google to find out who they were.  We eventually cot through to them, and asked them directly who them were, and what agency they worked for.  The voice answering the phone, was the same voice that had left the recording. However he would not give his name, or who he worked for, and demanded that we tell him who we were, saying that their policy prohibited him from talking to anyone that concealed their identity.  He then went on to call us stupid for calling him, and demanded to know how we got his number.

This is absolutely a scam.

Got a call from 845-335-5080.  An officer Richard Martin from the U.S. crime bureau
said there was a case against me.  Then he transferred me to his superior named officer  Jack Johnson.  I told him I reported this number and these two names.  He said what is that suppose to do.  I said you can try and keep doing this but it will not work because I know this is a scam.  Then officer Jack Johnson Hung up on me.  Both had Indian accents.

I have had similar calls from the US Investigations Bureau first from Officer Brad Gibson and Officer Tom Scott his superior. They call from 347-640-3078, 347-762-1444 and 213-293-6444. They called me at home and work. They have also emailed me with threats to pay for a payday loan I never took out. I decided to pay them and they promised to email me a document saying that the account was paid in full Instead I received a request from Tom Scott to be his friend on facebook. Once I called the number pretending to be someone else and they told me they were a company that deals with internet fraud and computer hacking involving facebook. Interestingly, a week prior to the start of these calls facebook had asked me to change my password because someone had attempted to hack my account.

Tom Scott and Officer Kevin are using 347-762-1444 right now. They called me yesterday and today, same story. Said they are "Affidavit Officers" and I will be arrested for a payday loan (I never had a payday loan in my life) These clowns really need to get some better English speaking skills and brush up on US laws and how things are actually done in this country before attempting to scam Americans. There's no such thing as an "Affidavit Officer" and the FBI does NOT collect past due loans of ANY kind. Stupid stupid stupid.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!  IT'S A SCAM AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN IN THE UNITED STATES! They can NOT have you arrested, they can NOT come hurt you, they are international FRAUDSTERS that have NO POWER OR AUTHORITY HERE!

If they called you, they already HAVE your information. They have your social and your bank account number. CHANGE ACCOUNTS AND PUT A FRAUD ALERT ON YOUR CREDIT!!!!

    Another potential viction
Today there was a call from Bureau of Crime and Prevention asking for an employee and said there is a legal matter and that they have the ss.  I told the gentleman who's name is Neil Stevens (at least that is what he said)I got a number of 707-520-4751 X 207.  I called back and threatened them with the same and advised them the gig is up and now it will effect their family and friends.  Its so sad what this world is coming to.

I frequently get calls of a similar fashion on my cell phone but today I received a call at my place of work.  The caller identifies himself as "Officer" Paul Nelson and claims that I have criminal accusations against my name ans social security number and if I do not call them back police enforcement would show up at my place of work and my home to get in touch with me.
Does anyone know what can be done to eliminate these calls?

I have been getting calls from these frauds from India calling themselves U.S Cash Advance. They have all my information: SSN,checking account number. They've called me at work and at home telling me they had a warrant out for my arrest and to have my lawyer contact them. I contacted my bank and talked to the fraud department and they've fixed it so they can't take any money out of my account and I've contacted local authorities who say they have other complaints and have turned it over to the FBI. They are so beliggerent and insistent that I had to go back through my checking account transactions to see if they had indeed deposited money into my account. They have not. What I don't understand is why law enforcemnt will allow them to continue to harass people all these months and not respond to complaints. This is very distressing and I would very much like for these people to be held accountable for their actions. It seems like they are scoffing at law enforcement and are determined to continue not fearing that they will be held accountable for their actions.

Please be on alert for a new name and phone number out there.  Got a voice mail last week from "Scott Wilson" from "Bureau of Crime Investigation".  The phone number: 888-672-3673.  He had a very thick Indian accent.  He requested that I call immediately as there was a criminal suit against me and if I didn't I would be arrested. The message ended with a good luck and something about not being responsible for my fate.  I ignored it and saw missed calls from the same number over the next few days.  I finally picked up the call yesterday afternoon and lost them.  I called back and found that they had alot of my information also, including my place of employment.  After a few choice words back and forth, he cursed at me and I hung up.  I found out from my HR Dept that they called last week and left a message.  She was aware of the scam and didn't respond with any info or confirm my employment.  I haven't heard from them yet, but from what I'm reading, here, I expect to. So glad for the piece of mind these posts have given me.  Hope this is helpful to someone also.  Thanks to all of you!

I keep getting calls from a Joseph Garner. The first time he called me he gave me the name of Steve Smith...right. He said he was from the Government of Illinois (what?). He asked me if I was____( called me by name) and if I knew_____(called my brother by name). Said for my brother to call him and gave me a bogus number. Then he called my brothers number and asked him for his SSN and other personal information. My brother not knowing gave it to him and he hung up right away. He called me again asking me the same thing. When I told him I relayed the information and my brother talked to you and you hung up on him, he hung up on me.  I call the number back and the same person answered the phone as Joseph Garner (not)(he has an middle eastern accent). I told him he just called me and hung up. He said you have a sibling named____do you know him (what)? I told him his question didn't make any sense and to stop calling me and he hung up on me again. We are reporting this guy to the police.

On the call in all he said was Legal Department Jospeph Garner....What company??? No one really knows. No company is listed under this number. Also got  the name of Jason Fernadez. He is not Hispanic.
