Got mail from Car Safe to call them at 1-866-364-3336 to "Extend Your Vehicle Coverage".  I called 02/09/2010 & Robb, the sales person, answered.  He looked up my car (2006 Chev Malibu), asked how many miles (53,700) and in a doubtful voice said it's hard to cover a high mileage vehicle.  Then transferred me to the approval dept.
That person asked about repairs completed, accidents & if it ran ok now; also warned me they didn't want any fraud situations.  Satisfied, she sent me back to Robb.
Robb didn't want to answer my questions, still worried about high miles and in general gave me smart-ass remarks vs answers to questions.  I hung up as I sensed I was wasting my time.
Robb called back & said I really needed protection since I even had trouble using a phone.  I asked how long he'd been in sales.  Since he was 14, said Robb.  I asked if he hadn't figured insults don't lead to a sale.  He responded that when he sold cars he greeted customers with " Gosh!  How'd you make it here in that thing".  Again I hung up, or had trouble using my phone.

I got a letter yesterday that said on the outside "Request for Immediate Action--Time Sensitive Material Enclosed" along with a warning against anyone tampering with the mail.  In the return address section it just said "Make: Toyota".  I thought it was a recall from Toyota.  Instead it was a solicitation from Carsafe to try and sell me a service contract!  This is a bogus company.  I will report them to the authorities.

Got the same as Deb L above and thought it was a recall as well.  Called the number only to tell them that their sales tactics were deplorable and praying on the public. My notice saidd that my existing coverage was expiring - which it not.  Reporting to BBB & others.

You should take that information and send a complaint to the Attorney General's office for your state as well as the US Postal Inspection Service.  This looks like an official recall notice for a reason (they want you to open it) and the other fact is that the stamp on the front is pre-printed and the USPIS probably should ensure that they are paying for every letter that is sent out!

I just got a carsafe solicitaion in the mail today as well. I came here to see if there were complaints. My Vans warranty did just run out and I am looking around for a warranty. Van is only 2 years old. But thanks to you I will not waste my time and I will keep on looking for a legitimate company. Here is my theory about cars and warranties: " Guess why manufacturers only put a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty on a car? Because, truthfully, that's all the longer they really last". It's all downhill from then.

I too received a notice in the mail.  Same discussion as above complaints.  They try to get you to commit immediately on the phone and I told them I had to sleep on it.  I am so glad I found this site and read about all these complaints so when they call back tomorrow I can let them know I have read about the consumer complaints and not to send me any more notices.

Notice in mail. I called for an estimate...talked with Bryant. Repeated many times I was looking for only an estimate...Bryant said the price could change...told him I doubted it would change much in an hour or day. He transferred me to Steve who approved a 5yr/100,00 coverage and gave me back to Bryant, who quoted gave me pricing for 5yrs and still insisted on a sale. I thanked him, told him I needed to talk with my family and hung up as he was stuttering to keep me on the line. Had I read it more carefully, I would have initially realized it was a scam. This website helped me greatly! Thank you!

I got the same solicitation for my 2010 Toyota.  I'm going to show the solicitation to my Toyota sales rep. for some insight into how my name, address and car make and model became available.

Yes, I too received the notice in the mail and called to extend my warranty.  I received the same transferring methods from the original contact "Brian" and through the approval process.  When I stated that I needed all coverage in writing before offering my credit card info, I was transferred to the Manager, "Eric" who pressured me into giving the credit card info now or suffer the consequences of loosing my low rates.  I was firm and insisted on reviewing the contract.  I received the contract via email and the header read "CarSafe Automovie Repair Protection".  There is no such business witin the Better Business Burea (BBB); The "sample" contract identified the company's legal name as "Enterprise Financial Group, Inc." or "Enterprise Agency, Inc." utilizig the insurance carrier "American Reliable Insurance Company".  None of the aforementioned legal names are listed with the BBB.  Case closed . . . The company does not exist and is a fraud!!!!!
