Got mail from Car Safe to call them at 1-866-364-3336 to "Extend Your Vehicle Coverage".  I called 02/09/2010 & Robb, the sales person, answered.  He looked up my car (2006 Chev Malibu), asked how many miles (53,700) and in a doubtful voice said it's hard to cover a high mileage vehicle.  Then transferred me to the approval dept.
That person asked about repairs completed, accidents & if it ran ok now; also warned me they didn't want any fraud situations.  Satisfied, she sent me back to Robb.
Robb didn't want to answer my questions, still worried about high miles and in general gave me smart-ass remarks vs answers to questions.  I hung up as I sensed I was wasting my time.
Robb called back & said I really needed protection since I even had trouble using a phone.  I asked how long he'd been in sales.  Since he was 14, said Robb.  I asked if he hadn't figured insults don't lead to a sale.  He responded that when he sold cars he greeted customers with " Gosh!  How'd you make it here in that thing".  Again I hung up, or had trouble using my phone.

I think it is a good idea that they send out unsolicited mail.  It helps our economy by keepin the postal people workin.  I also hate walking out to the mail box only to find there is nothing in there.. at least when companies send stuff out to you (whether it's solicited or not)... you don't have to walk back to the house empty handed.

I have had my Carsafe policy for the last few years (coming to the end now). I am in no way going to say they have great customer service, or timely responses. They probably have the worst in all of that. But I will say if the repair is covered and you read the contract they really do pay out! My car is extremely expensive to repair. I was quoted at $1750 for a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. I have had over $8,000 worth of repairs covered. So either I was really lucky they continuously paid me, or the posts above didn't read their contract thoroughly.

Long story short, low ball them and play a little of their game. Understand what your getting into. Or just go with a much more expensive policy with a larger company, not a broker like Carsafe.

Got the 2nd attempt notice today and called to have our address removed from mailing and that we longer had the car. Talked to Chad (jerk) and wanted to know how we got rid of car. I told him it didn't matter and they had no reason to know why and he continued yes it did matter and i replied it's none of your business and he disconnected.
I am going to see who I can report them to after reading all these complaints.

I read somewhere that "CarSafe" gets your info from Experian, Equifax, and/or TransUnion.  (You know, the place that's supposed to help "protect" your identity.)  It seems the credit bureaus sell your information if you have financed a car.

Logically, the only place that knows about my 2008 Toyota is the Dealership, my Credit Union, and the credit bureaus.  And, if Toyota wanted me to buy their warranty, they wouldn't be likely to give out my info to some other warranty place.

Contact all 3 credit bureaus and tell them to stop giving your information out.

I had received corespondence from Carsafe regarding the expiration of my extended coverage to my pick up.  My call was to research coverage packages to my pick up and an additional vehicle and spoke to "Chad".  I was given the third degree that my coverage was expired and would probably not be reinstated.  I was sent to another individual who asked qualifying questions regarding my vehicle condition, and was told I would be approved for today only.

I was sent back to Chad who proceeded to advise me that I could not go with a better company that Carsafe. After advising Chad that I was only seeking a quote and would not committ, he became condescending and rude.  I eventually had to hang up on him twice.  I'm not sure if this company is a scam or not, but just their customer service would put them out of business.  Buyer Beware!!!!!

I don't recommend carsafe. I recently cancelled my policy in December 2012. It's now the end of March and I still haven't received my refund. The first check got lost in the mail, 2nd check was mailed a week or so ago. To date haven't received it. I spoke to Chris. He was very rude and has poor customer service skills. Most issues were not covered by my plan so for me it was a waste of a warranty.

I got a notice in the mail from a company called EWS. I cannot find them anywhere on the internet, and the 866 site says the telephone number isn't owned by anyone! Don't understand that one. . .  After reading about you all and your experiences with CarSafe, I think I'll call the BBB and see what they have to say. (May 2014)
