So by now most folks know that payday loans are never worth the time it takes to get one.  Once you get them, you practically cannot get out of them.  Zip19 issues payday loans without any sort of "pay-down" schedule.  Instead, they will remove the entire loan amount plus the service fees in two equal amounts (basically they take the total, cut it in half and then remove them both at the same time).

The reason for this?  The only answer is so that if the funds are not availabe in your account, then they can charge you TWO NSF fees instead of one.  On my first time using this company, I experienced this because their website incorrectly displayed the dates on the calendar, thus making me choose an incorrect day for payback of the loan.  Ultimately, they waived the fees, so I continued to use them.  But my story actually gets better.

On the 17th of June at approximately 11am, I submitted a request to zip19 for a payday loan.  I have been using this company for close to 9 months now and they have gotten a substantial amount of money from me.  Per their own contract, if you cancel within 24 hours, they are supposed to cancel the contract and that should be that.

On the 18th of June, at 9:36am I submitted a request for cancellation.  The date and time stamp on the fax confirms this.  Even on their own website, they verified that the date and time stamp exist on the form.  However their supervisor stated to me that they did not receive it until after 5pm that night.  She stated that even though the fax "may" have come through at 9:30am, that they have to use the date and time that "THEY" (meaning the supervisors) got it.  So it was posted to their website at 5:06pm.

Thier customer service is horrible.  When waiting for a "supervisor" you are placed on hold for an inordinate amount of time.  And even then, once you've spoken to them you are given no recourse of a higher entity.

Basically your only recourse with these companies, once they bare their teeth and show their true colors is to close your bank account and hope for a day in court.  Otherwise you're stuck paying for something you didn't need.

Never, ever, ever take a loan with these people.  they are thugs.  they call me repeatedly and I owe them a very small amount.  I have repeatedly told them that I want to pay them, but I need an address, something to be able to make payments.  I lost my job and am rarely in a position to western union.  I agree with the guy above about practicing illegally.  I felt very bad, when I did not have the money in the account.  I lost my bank account.  This was all my fault. I am not blaming them.  I was in a panic, a bad situation, needed the money fast, and did it. I regret this more than most any other decision I have made, financially, just taking a risk.  I get calls with other country codes, with this guy, with a strong accent, yelling into my answering machine, making up names of agencies he is with and how he is with people who are suing me, and I MUST return his call.  One message was literally threatening and I called my local police.  He said, "all I can say........miss....and of course, all the while, yelling very loudly in a threatening voice, that I wish you the very best of luck and may God be with you.  If that is not a threat??  I have no problem paying these people back.  whoever they are.  they did lend me the money. They MUST make a simpler way for people to pay them back, b/c calling me 40 times a day and threatening me, is not exactly spurring me on to run out to western union. that is 20 a pop.  they are hiding.  they should have an address, even a p.o. box, that we can mail money orders too.  But, the other country thing is correct and they have preyed on people in hardships, and used all of our money to rip us off.
I am disgusted by these people and feel like I am being hunted by the mafia.

    wtf
Why would anyone use payday loans to begin with? didnt anyone research this before they took the money? Bottom line, if you owe them money, you have to pay it. You may be able to stop the harrasing calls but it will ruin your credit. I mean who would pay 170.00 in fees to borrow 300 bucks anyway?  Borrow from a friend or maybe perhaps get rid of your cable, cell phone, internet, etc... if you cannot afford it.  If you dont make enough money, then stop spending so much!!!

    wtf
i work for a bank and you can put all the stop pays you want on your account but that is why they go under different alias's.  when you put a stop pay on your account, it only blocks that particular amount or name of the company, they are smarter than you and that is why they have so many different names. and somewhere it is in an agreement.  I deal with this all day long at the bank. people try to dispute these charges, but they lose. The loan company comes back with the customers electronic signature that they did when they applied for the loan so it gets thrown out and the customer is responsible.

My experience with them has been very positive.  It is that I needed this service to begin with that may not be as positive.  Know this -- it is hard to stop with the loans once you start, but it does give you time to plan WHEN to cut them off.  Don't get involved if YOU CANNOT pay it back on the specified dates which are right in front of you when you say YES!

I have read so many of these, that it isn't even funny.  If you are not going to help these people then don't write.

My husband took out a loan with Zip19, and is having problems.  His hours were cut following taking out the loan.  So he doesn't have the money to pay it back.

All he wants to do is get an address to pay them back slowly, but they are now threatening to garnish him at his work.

My question is, don't they have to get a court order before they can garnish from your work?

You're an idiot... pay back your loans. i have loaned with them appox 12 times. i have been called by them on 2 occasions because my account didn't have enough money. They gave me an extension until my next pay day and i got to re loan. its not that difficult. if you think they're illegal than you're a fool for doing business with them. and dont take out loans you cant repay. its short term and in their words high risk. so if you dont want the risk then dont loan.

I took out a loan with Zip19. I repaid the loan as agreed. Three months later i have an "attorney" for the company call me and say i am being charged with fraud. I ask for details of what they think i owe and they say they can not send me anything breaking it down. I ask what i owe and ask for an address to send a certified check to them for the entire balance. They would not give me an address and said they would see me in court! I look forward to going to a U.S. Court judge with this.

I'm experiencing the same thing they are calling me telling me that I owe them money I know that the loan was repaid. You can barely understand what they're saying. But this company has some serious issues and if they think im doublly paying them they got another thing coming.

Great for you. I believe they are doing illegal business, because I had a problem with my acct and I closed it, then I call zip19 and they told me that I could do nothing but to send the money by moneygram with the $58.00 fees which I found it odd to pay double fee and on top of this they instruct you not to put the city and state on the moneygram documents which it tells me that they are hiding something like they are not register with CDDTL (California deffered deposit transaction law) so this is a good thing that you told me these, because I will pay them but in payments if they want to otherwise I won't

    ?????
I guess you are owner or have some good benefit from this company, because otherwise you won't be eager to write with such of defensiveness.  Everything this guy said is true, it needs a courage to stop rip-off businesses like paydayloans. And yes, if you stop paying it could be report it to credit bureaus, but may be this will take to get them out of businesses and show them for what they ate.

Have you ever thought if zip19 operates rightfully and every state.  Do they follow every state guidelines and regulations about payday loans.  Do you that this company is operated from Malta another country! Do you think is right that you tell them that you want to change the account because the current acct need to be closed for x or y reason and they do not allow to do this, just to collect twice their $29.00 fees.  And what about they do not negotiate a payment plan? and get this when they instruct you to send money by moneygram they tell you not to write down in the form the city and state where this money is coming from????? Does this sounds fishy or what? When they call you to collect they'll give you all kind of threats, which is illegal to threathen people to make them scared.  Also when I tried to print my complete contract with them, it does not print completely only half way, which it sounds add, and then I called to send me a complete copy of it and they say they will and they never did.  In my state there is a regulation of a maximum amount to lend, maximum rate to charge, maximum APR , collection fees can not be more than 15% and they are violating all these paydayloans in my state.  Not matter how much you sign or how much times you got money through them, you have the right to know the facts.  So, yes they are doing illegal transactions in this country and someone has to stop them.  Yes, I used them several times, yes they are fast, but what you do not know is that when you have a problem and try to reason with them they do not care and they sure know that they are lending to high risk people who can get a decent loan someplace else like a reputable bank and that is why they take advantage of.  For those who are praising of "read your contract" know that even reading a contract you still have rights.

This is a common misconception. Zip19's site is secure, and they're reputable. However, illegal third party sites may look like zip19's site, i.e. they've copied the HTML code for zip19's website so the application form is identical, but your information is also distributed to the fraudulent site. People type "payday loan" into Google click on a link with Zip19 in the description and assume they're applying for a loan directly through them.

Judging from how you wrote your post, I'm curious as to how you managed to read your contract. This company doesn't charge you additional interest for defaulting on a loan, but they do apply insufficient funds fees to your outstanding balance. This was told to you in your contract. Please do not expect an on-line payday lender to show sympathy regarding the personal circumstances which caused you to default on your loan. This company provides two week loans (or less)so chances are you knew about the layoff or cutback and should have had the foresight to not apply for the loan. I have loaned from this company before, and read the contract very well before doing so, and thus avoided any negative experiences. Loan was deposited and withdrawn as per the agreement.

Having read their contract myself, I can answer your question about the "double fee". You authorized the company to perform multiple debits on your account (so they are legally able to debit you twice at the same time). In conjunction with this, you agreed that for each debit returned, there would be a $29.00 fee applied. Therefore, since both debits were returned resulting from your closed account, the company added $58.00. When making a Moneygram payment, they have no mailing address in the US (as other posters have made quite clear, therefore it makes sense that they would have an online account. They can't debit an account other than the one you signed a contract with. This policy is in place to counter-act fraud.

24 hours is the minimum amount of time you could receive the funds. For me it was 2-3 business days. It also depends on your bank. If you are paid on a monthly basis, they won't actually issue the funds until 14 days prior to your upcoming payday. It doesn't matter if you applied 20 days prior. If you had called customer service prior to completing the loan request, I'm sure they would have given you an accurate time-frame. I had similar questions, and they were addressed by their customer service department.

Please, no one else post their personal information like this lady has done. Why on earth would you assume this website is affiliated at all with Zip19? 80% of the posts on this topic are negative towards the company. Absolutely ridiculous.

I would bet that this lady had random people calling her saying ``Sure, I`ll cancel your loan for you, just give me your bank account information and social security number to complete your request...``

LOL at the fact that she posted her full name, e-mail and phone number!!!
