Problem with loud noise during spin cycle

My husband just got off the phone with a customer service rep from Maytag and is he upset.  We have a 3000 series washer that we have had for 2 years.  It started making a very loud noise during the spin cycle, so we called to see what the problem could be and how to rectify it.  Customer service pretty much shuffled him around (transferring his call so that he actually spoke to and explained the situation to three separate people).  The first person told him that they had been having issues with this problem and that the labor and parts would be covered.  He then transferred to another person to get further information.  Once my husband gave the second person all the information, she then transferred him to the third person, who basically told my husband that he could purchase the extended warranty, roughly $316, and that might cover the problem and be in effect for one year.  He declined that offer, since the first person told him the parts and labor would be covered.  The third person told my husband that the first agent had "misspoke". Once he was off the phone I told him I would look this problem  online and see what it could be and I was surprised to see that this is a REGULAR REOCCURING problem with this washer that the company is WELL aware of.  Very frustrating to learn that the company does not stand behind the product and take better care of the customers who loyally purchase their products.   Hopefully we can get our washer fixed and it will last awhile longer. We are calling our local repairman, from the company that sold us the machine to see what can be done.  But, we will not be purchasing another Maytag product.

Don't bother..they will not do anything for you and will not refund your money. We have a broken washer after only 14 months and the only thing they will do is "pro rate" one year which leaves us having to pay $398 plus $175 shipping for them to replace our washer. That means we would pay that on top of the $550 we originally spent 14 months ago. Maytag is making a lot of money off of screwing customers and we will never buy another Maytag applieance again. I am spending every spare moment I have writing reviews at as many places as possible to help spread the word so more people don't get in our situation

Same problem.  Washer purchased Jan 9, 2009.  It was extremely noisy, vibrated and rattled.  The tech from AE Factory service said it was just not leveled.  It was leveled again.  Still rattled like it was falling apart.

I leveled it again (tech didn't bother to tighten the leveling feet).  Still rattled.  The noise has been getting progressively worse. Today, my wife could stand the racket any longer.  We called a local repairman.  He looked at it and said it would cost more to fix than it was worth. The bearings were bad and had probably been defective at the time of purchase.   I contacted Maytag online (couldn't get through on the phone).  They said they weren't aware of any problems with this model and it was out of warranty and they couldn't help.  Obviously lied thru her teeth about being unaware of the problem.  It is all over the internet.

I just went on line and asked a question about the same problem as jokrgirl, I have a Maytag Bravos quiet series 300 and there is nothing quiet about it when it spins, so going on line I asked the help question, they said for an answer right away pay 38.00 on my visa which I did then it asked for my email number and my phone number but said to get the answer it had to be a usa phone only ... after they took the money from my account!!! so now I have no answer plus have lost 38.00 probably in usa funds. I am unhappy that they would take money from an 80 year old woman ... really disappointed.

I have the same problem as jokrgirl, it washes it spins but sounds like a howling sound throughout the house, it is a Maytag Bravos quiet series but there is nothing quiet about it, So I went to JUST ANSWER, Well the JUST Answer did not answer me because I did not have a usa phone number to give, after you fill in the amount to pay and go to next they then let you know it has to be a USA phone number,  but they took the money out of my account fast enough. I sure am so disappointed.

We have had a 3000 series washer almost 3 yrs now and we purchased it because of its quiet ability and even (Maytag) commercials on tv. shows how quiet the washer washes and spins. (Remember the child that builds the blocks on top of the washing machine during the spin cycle)?   But now we too are now experiencing the VERY LOUD noise it makes during the spin cycle and has been doing this now for over 2 months. Its not under any warrenty but this should never happen to a washer at 3yrs. of age. from reading a prievious write up about this issue should I even attemp to call the factory and get put on a customer no service rotation, what can be done about this problem? If Maytag will not repair my washer I will never purchase anything from that company again.

Hello Melanie I recieved a email from you or the (Social Media Representative) company.  I did provide the info you requested but I am one of those who think that if you provide more than should be required that possibly a identety issue is possible, now that being said I have provided you w/ my Name, make and model# and phone# (SO PLEASE CALL MY NUMBER). in a prievious email that I sent to you/ SMR.  so when I tred to respond to the email you/ SMR sent it comes back as email failure and when I try to call the phone# that is given under the email you responed to my original email with it goes straight to a computer voice recording.  HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN THROUGH THE ISSUE THAT I HAVE JUST WENT THROUGH?  OR IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO GET TO THESE PEOPLE.

dont give ####! replies to Keith
Please dont give this so-called Maytag rep your info.  It's probably a company looking to obtain your personal information such as phone number or address.  A real Maytag rep would not be trolling here.. you can barely reach them by phone.  They aren't going to just pop up here offering help.  They are a very unhelpful company in my horrible experience with them.

Don't give your phone # or info out.  That's just crazy.  Let THEM give YOU a toll free number, one that you can verify online as actually being part of the Maytag corporation.

Sounds like Melanie may be a troll gathering info on people.  Has anyone had any success with emailing this person?  I to have this set and my washer is doing the same thing.  Sounds like it may be easier to just call a repairman than deal with Maytag.  So much for the Maytag repairman commercials I grew up on.  Between the awful smell and the noise I may just let it run till it stops and buy a new Samsung.

Mine is doing the same thing. I am incredibly aggrevated!!! From reading this I can see that calling Maytag would be pointless. My first washer was a hand down from a 75 year old lady who had it for 15 years and it lasted us another 10. What has happened? I have only had this new one for 3 years and it sounds like it is going to shake apart  and fly onto 1000 pieces. With all our technology this is pretty sad
