Problem with loud noise during spin cycle

My husband just got off the phone with a customer service rep from Maytag and is he upset. We have a 3000 series washer that we have had for 2 years. It started making a very loud noise during the spin cycle, so we called to see what the problem could be and how to rectify it. Customer service pretty much shuffled him around (transferring his call so that he actually spoke to and explained the situation to three separate people). The first person told him that they had been having issues with this problem and that the labor and parts would be covered. He then transferred to another person to get further information. Once my husband gave the second person all the information, she then transferred him to the third person, who basically told my husband that he could purchase the extended warranty, roughly $316, and that might cover the problem and be in effect for one year. He declined that offer, since the first person told him the parts and labor would be covered. The third person told my husband that the first agent had "misspoke". Once he was off the phone I told him I would look this problem online and see what it could be and I was surprised to see that this is a REGULAR REOCCURING problem with this washer that the company is WELL aware of. Very frustrating to learn that the company does not stand behind the product and take better care of the customers who loyally purchase their products. Hopefully we can get our washer fixed and it will last awhile longer. We are calling our local repairman, from the company that sold us the machine to see what can be done. But, we will not be purchasing another Maytag product.

my washer is also leaking now, water is getting all over the washer room floor. The more washing the more water on the floor.
What can I do.
My washer is also leaking now, water is over my washroom floor, too.
What should we do, just purchase the warranty or what? I checked into the cost of the inside tub that contain the new bearing @ the bottom, it costs 200.00
or the bearing replacement kit costs 80.00, but you have to buy the tool to put the part on, it cost 80.00.
Well, then there is the labor for each one of these repairs. I found a repairman that will charge me 125.00 labor, I guess. Or if we choose to only repair the bearing, going the cheaper route, the labor will cost more, so it may not be the cheapest.
what then?
Will never purchase another Maytag product and Menards is on my Shi? list.
