SST bought my Washington Mutual Card. I already have an account with SSN because they bought my Providian card two years ago. The service is so horrible that as soon as I found out that they took over my WAMU card I paid off the balance.

A month later I received a statement with a $4.00 finance charge. I couldn't believe it. I called them and they explained that the finance charge was back-billed!? The guy threatened to send my account to collections if I don't pay. What make this situation ridiculous is that if I pay online, their online system doesn't except payments that are less than $5.00. If I agree to pay by phone they charge $10.00 to do it.

The only option I have is to mail them this payment that I don't think I even legally owe. Oh, and one more ridiculous thing, if you pay online more than $200, they will hold your payment before crediting your account for 10 days!

Their customer service is rude and it's hard to get to anyone there. The best way to get to SST is to call 1-800-388-1806 and choose the option that says your card was stolen. They will get to right away. Then ask for a transfer to customer service.

For every one else whose account was transfered to SST Card Services Run from this company. Close your account. Don't activate your new card, and just stay away from this dirty company.

My biggest issue with this ridiculous company is if you fall behind, and actually pick up the phone the 10 or more times they call every day,  and speak to a person and tell them when you can pay,  they will still call you every-day.   Why?  its harrassing.  Half the time if you pick up its an auto call and they want you to call them back.   I didn't ask for this crappy company to take over my payments,  we used Equity One for the longest time and loved them,  then they closed down, and our account switched to American Finance,  our payments that got sent to American Finance were transferred to sst late.  So the SST people us late fees.  they switched us around 3 times, you would think they would of realized it wasn't our fault.  Anyway, do yourself's a favor, do what you can to pay these people asap,  they will never go away.  Even consolidate if you have to just to get rid of them.  imo

    SST Beware
Attention Consumers when dealing with SST. They make claims that are cannot be verified. An example is they said a payment wasn't made because the back account number was wrong. What kind of service provided completely inputs a totally wrong number? Understandable mix up a digit, not in my case. Get a conformation # which that some agents will give you but some you must ask. We'll there answer will be the conversation is being recorded and we will check the tapes to see if your correct. In the meantime a negative make has been placed on your credit that you have to work/fight to remove which takes up my time.
    * When they take over a bankrupted company, they will claim they sent you out a statement and in my case I never recieved that they would be serving the credit card company in the case "First Equity". They will say that we didn't recieve any mail returned to us. There goal is to have the payment appear as late so they can jack up interest rates in my opinion. LOVE TO SEE A LAWYER PICK UP A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THIS COMPANY. Provide consumers with the proper information in due time & make sure they recieve the information instead of claiming that it was sent. If they do not do the right thing, a lawer advise me, bring them to small claims court or report them to the Department of Insurance and Banking Fraud in the state you live in. Worst company I've ever dealt with and the if you speak with an account manager they can be very rude. F- in customer service IMO these statement have been made.

SST failed to send me my bill in Feb and then proceeded to charge me a late charge and harass me for the payment . I always pay my payments early but only if i receive a bill. What a neat scam . How can we prove that this company never sent a bill? Congress has done next to nothing to control scam credit card companies. Where the hell is the FBI?

Bill learn how to spell you ignorant ass. This company is non professional and the employees are rude. I pay online and the [***] still cannot credit the payment when it is received . My bank sends out the payment and they fail to credit the account. It takes 10 days to process the payment and you have 10 days grace period so if they screw around for 1 day and fail to post then I have to pay a late fee which my bank happily reverses. These guys are [***] and you my nonfriend are a idiot!

I work for an attorney and unfortunately the ONE loan I have was sent to this piece of crap company for servicing! What a joke. I pay according to my contract and they have never had anything correct on the website. Just for the heck of it I asked them to send a copy of my contract wink, wink.. And sure enough the length of my contract (their copy) was as mine (of course) reflected. But the website still reflects the incorrect (over by two years) amount of months remaining! Oh and that's after I told them a half dozen times to fix it and they assured me it would be corrected. Ridiculous.

They are extortionists and typical of the poor quality lenders we have faced for years. I have reported them to the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov and the attorney general. Bring on the class action I say! And they should be on the list of the good people in their state to occupy. If they were here I would "Occupy" their parking lot and face their dumb rude employees face to face. Worthless!

My pickup loan was sold to Sun Trust. The account is serviced by SST. I have always paid the payment on time through my banks bill pay. It is setup on auto pay which pays the bill automatically every month. This month they started calling me on the 17th saying they had not received payment. When I contacted my bank they had proof that SST had already cashed the payment on the 13TH.They refuse to even research their error. They have been faxed copies of the cancelled check. They acknowledge they have received proof of payment but still continue to call me with their automatic dialing system that has hung up on me at least 15 times when I answer. When I do get to talk to a person they have no interest in solving the problem. They repeatedly take down all my personal information and ask for another payment even though they know the payment was not late.

I was bounced to SST through a local used car dealer. My daughter was in divorce and bankruptcy but needed a car for work, so she pays me and I pay them on my credit. The interest rate on 13000 was 6.75%, and the balance now is 1700 and all will be paid on the last date, 7/15/2012. I use their online statement service and copy these every month. The website states they send me an Email statement, and after verifying that I cannot find a single instance where SST sent one. I am hopeful that on 7/15 this year when the loan is scheduled to be paid off they release the title promptly.
I did make a phone call one time requesting an address. Sorry, I lost that.
Their 6.75% interest and the auto pay balances every month check out. That is my experience.I did find them about as secretive as the CIA but my question for someone is how quickly was the title released.

Let me tell you SST is the worst company in the world to have a loan serviced through. I have been fighting with them for the past 6 months to get a payment due date change. They fax me a due date change document, charge me a late fee and a payment over the phone fee and claim they haven't received my change form. The sad thing is my loan is through American First Credit Union and because of them outsourcing my loan to this company "SST" I would never carry any loans through American First Credit Union and I would advise anyone else to do the same. It's a sad day when customer service is put to the way side to add additional dollars to the banks bottom line.

I guess NOT ALL “MEMBERS COME FIRST”

My account was transfered to SST and I can only agree with all the statments that I have been reading through on this web page. They are RUDE and some how without my approval got my cell number and call me on my cell. What's up with that. The best card I have ever worked with is Bank of America. With SST they will call you every day if you are late one day on a payment even after you give them the check number and date mailed. I'm sick and tried of being treated like I'm unemployed or something. They think everyone is a risk of defalt and will hound you with questions till they are paid.

I worked in collections for over 30 years and I would not have believed you that SST actually would call to collect 1 day after the due date. Normally a bank would call 31 days after a due date. If you pay your credit card and the payment is received before the next billing cycle (29 days) then you still will receive R1 prompt credit. But unfortunately you will be hit with a $25 to $35 late fee which is painful enough.

Well I have an actual SST Visa that too was I think purchased or attained when WAMU went under. All was fine and my last payment was DUE 4-4-2012. I got a call 4-5-2012 dunning me for money. It was also identified as collections and attempt to collect a debt, etc, etc.  I could not believe it! I was mad at myself because I would have to pay a late fee on a $30 payment I owed. When I asked the person I did not get an answer. They wanted a check over the phone. For 1 day late I was not going to do it. But I told them I would mail that day 4-5-2012.  I did send that day $100 payment and I know it will be postmarked 4-5-2012. Since then I received another call on 4-7-2012. I just hung up on their ID. I figured they would get my payment very soon for sure and no more problems. Well.. believe it or not I received not 1, not 2 but 3 CALLS FROM TODAY!  All for a payment that was due 4-4-2012.

This surely is harrassment. 3rd Party Collection Agencies have the FDCPA to contend with when collection money for other companies (which SST also does as a 3rd party) But this is their in-house business.  Of course I am going to be cancelling my account, but I am calling the Attorney General for the state they are calling from and also the Wisconsin Attorney General (my state) to see if there is anything I can do to file a complaint. If anyone else told me that  a company was calling 1 day past due I would never, ever have believed it, especially with my extensive work experience previously working as a collection agent myself.

Some companies are simply toxic, and it is hazardous to do any business with them at all.

Not surprising that a successor to Providian should turn out to be similarly toxic.  Providian was caught signing up customers for unauthorized charges for "credit insurance".  In addition, ex-employees reported they shredded payment checks to drive up late fees.

How do you know your payments are actually arriving late?

You might want to send your next payment certified (not return receipt requested).  You can then check the usps.com site and see when the Postal Service actually delivered it to their P.O. Box.  You might not know the exact delivery time, but it will tell you the date, confirmed by a third party, and if it is delivered a day or more early, and they call to shake you down for late fees, it might be interesting.

I want you all to know that not all the employee's are rude a****.  I quit because their supervisors are about as worthless as they come.  Some even given the names "supzilla"   They are not only unfair to you, the consumers, but they treat their employee's like dirt.  I put in my vacation request as I was going out of town on vacation with my kids.  They told me that I had to wait until vacation "bids" after the begining of the year.  I told them that according to my divorce papers I could not wait I had to turn it in that time.  Once vacations were set we could not change them.  Well of course my vacation was denied for the first week because they said that soemone that had been there longer than me wanted the same week...I told them that I did not have a choice I would not be there during those times.  The "supzilla" looks at me and says "i guess you'll be putting in your 2 weeks notice then?".

    THEN....

They do not leave you on a shift that you are hired for.  They told me I would be working days.  well, come several months later they said they were doing "shift bids".  I had an evening job so I "bid" for days..which i could not have.  I told my supervisor that I could not work nights because I had a night job, which she then told me that a "part time job is easier to find than a full time job".  I went and found a different job a few days later.  Didn't bother turning in my notice.  just went and cleaned my desk off.

They told me that I was too nice for the job.  That I could not have a heart when dealing with the customers.  I dont believe in being hard on people.  Everyone is having a rough time financially...I asked several times why we could not just do extensions for the ones behind and they would be caught up.....but they would not allow me to.

I am very sorry you all have gone through this.

I used my credit card for business purchases to save myself the hassle of writing tons of checks each month.  I pay the balance in full every month, sometimes twice a month.  Last February (2012), I was in a rush, and chose the wrong checking account (one that we had closed, but that I had not removed from my payment option list).  Immediately upon finding out what I'd done, I repaid with the correct account.  The payment cleared the bank seven days later.  I also called SST and told them what I'd done.  There was never an NSF check.  Ever since that time, every payment I've made has been held for ten days pending confirmation of receiving the funds.  If I want to use the card, I have to get SST on the phone and then conference in the bank who confirms the payment is good.  None of that is really a huge issue to me; after all, I made the mistake.

What is an issue is the way I am treated on the phone.  The people are rude, talking to me like I've done something wrong or that I'm mismanaging my money or some other nasty thing. Today, I asked for a supervisor and she was worse than the original operator I had. She hung up the phone without resolving the issue.  When I called back and a third person managed to get the hold on the account lifted, she told me that - even though for an entire year I've been told it takes a year for them to stop putting the hold on my account every month - it will be yet another year before they stop putting the hold on the account.

There's no one at SST who wants to actually help me, and I'm not even sure how I ended up being their customer.  I do know this:  I will not have an account with them for another year.  Why bother with that extra hassle?

I have an account with SST, I set an automatic payment with them. I decided to pay my balance in full since it was down to $500. Now the rude customer service agent told me that I have to write a letter to cancel the automatic payment even though my balance is $0 they will keep taking the money. Never heard of that before, who does that! So when I told her I will call my bank and block any further payment she started screaming on the phone telling me I can't that I should write a letter.
If my balance is $0 at this point why would they keep taking money out of my account and why should I write a letter. Unbelievable !!!
