SST bought my Washington Mutual Card. I already have an account with SSN because they bought my Providian card two years ago. The service is so horrible that as soon as I found out that they took over my WAMU card I paid off the balance.

A month later I received a statement with a $4.00 finance charge. I couldn't believe it. I called them and they explained that the finance charge was back-billed!? The guy threatened to send my account to collections if I don't pay. What make this situation ridiculous is that if I pay online, their online system doesn't except payments that are less than $5.00. If I agree to pay by phone they charge $10.00 to do it.

The only option I have is to mail them this payment that I don't think I even legally owe. Oh, and one more ridiculous thing, if you pay online more than $200, they will hold your payment before crediting your account for 10 days!

Their customer service is rude and it's hard to get to anyone there. The best way to get to SST is to call 1-800-388-1806 and choose the option that says your card was stolen. They will get to right away. Then ask for a transfer to customer service.

For every one else whose account was transfered to SST Card Services Run from this company. Close your account. Don't activate your new card, and just stay away from this dirty company.

I had an auto loan from SST and I surrendered the car on a voluntary repo. And we never got the required noticed of deficiency in the required 60 days from date of repossession as per my state statues on repossessions. I told them I will not pay the deficeny because they failed to follow the specific state laws regarding collecting a deficency. I sent them a copy of the state law and the burden of proof is on them, they DID NOT send a certified letter and/or use UPS or fedex to send a letter within the 60 days period. They are arguing that they did send notice within 60 days, but they are counting from the date the car was sold at auction...silly idiots the law says specifically from date of reposession not date reposessed car was sold. Furthermore they did not send the required notices to each person named on the contract(there was a cosigner), that again violated the statue. I told them to fix my credit report to show a 0 balance. I told them that they are here by advised that they failed to follow state law and cannot collect on a deficency, and if they pursue a deficency judgement they will lose and subject themselves to legal action and I would be the plaintiff. And if they do not update my credit report showing a 0 balance, they will further subject themselves to legal action under violation of the fair credit reporting act. And of course they have yet to respond.

SST closed my credit card account without any notice. I had used the card in September and it worked. I had a balance of $32.00. I have paid my account in full for the last 5 years and have never carried a balance. Prior to that I have always made my payments on time. I tried to use my card again in October and it was declined. I thought maybe the card scanned incorrectly and used another card. The following week I used the SST card for an online purchase and it was again declined. I called SST and the agent informed me that my card had been cancelled because I hadn't used it for 90 days. However I was never informed and the website still lists my account as opened with a zero balance. What a terrible company this is. I am glad I no longer have an account with them. I advise everyone to stay away from this poor excuse for a company!

my ex husband has his vehicle loan through SST. since 2010,  2 representatives from SST have come to my house, looking for either my ex husband or his vehicle, they call me at the most 10 times a day (from 2 different numbers and 1 private number) and they have tried to take us to court to re-posses the vehicle, although my ex somehow came up with $2,000 at the last minute to make the payment he had missed, so the court hearing was closed.
they are still calling and it's getting ridiculous. they start calling at 8 am and don't stop  till as late as 8:59 pm. they also call on saturdays & sundays til 8pm.

These people kept getting my address and my phone number wrong, and when my postal carrier was kind enough to find the error and bring it over anyway~~after I had missed a couple of billing cycles~~I got a rude response from the person over the phone, and the company wasn't able to update my records with the correct address and phone number for nearly 2 years. So I had to keep checking my online account, since they don't provide email reminders, and I was rudely informed that I would have to pay the late fee if I failed to provide accurate contact information (hello!?)  I tried, repeatedly, to correct my contact information myself on my online account, after I their rude customer service people told me that "if they were unable to reach me by phone, they had to option to close the account and send the bills to collection." Really?  I've made steady payments on all my accounts for years.  It wasn't a great time, since I was in the middle of completing my second college degree~lovely people.  It's not such a great idea to close your credit cards, and it tends to lower your credit score, but this is one I might rethink. Filed a complaint with the DOJ against SST, for holding my payments so they could charge late fees. They were calling me everyday until last week, after I received the letter from the DOJ about my complaint the calls stopped and I no longer have a balance late payments also have been removed from my credit report. Now if that's not some shady dealings with this company then I don't know what is.

My SST Card Services Bill states the billing office is in Columbus, GA, it is also called DEETTO with an address in St. Joseph, MO...Customer service is only a recording in which you cannot reach a person at all, just to make an automated payment.  PLEASE does anyone have a phone number for them.  I just noticed, I've been having Late charges for the past 3 months, yet I have made over the minimum payment.

I had a loan that was transferred to this bank from another bank that had been of my choosing. I paid the loan off in January 2016 only a few months after the transfer after investigating just exactly whom I would be dealing with and reading about the blundering and inept service. I still have not received the paperwork that I need to title the vehicle as of this date, 2-1/2 months later. I have called repeatedly for information on the whereabouts of the release of lien and have been given as many different excuses (and what I think are amounting to blatant lies) as I have made phone calls to them.

Contacted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and filed a complaint today. Stunning incompetence at this bank, I would avoid at all costs.

you should file a complaint with your state agencies such as your department of motor vehicles (which handles car titles and liens), and also contact your state Attorney General.  There may be other state agencies that have regulatory authority over them.

I closed my SST account in April and had my bank send a check for the payoff amount.   Once it posted, I checked my account (paperless account) for any balance.   There was a balance $163, which I immediately paid online 4/28, 4 days before the due date.  Today, I get a call from SST saying I owed $26 in finance charges!!!   Are they for real?!?!?!   The rep said finance charges are billed a month behind.  Once I get my hands on my paperwork at home, I'll be contacting BBB.

I have call 3 different numbers and all 3 numbers are recording and it does not matter if you hit 1 or 0 you will not get a live person. I am so glad I have a $0.00 balance.. This is not a good company and something needs to be done about it. And get this they close my account and I do thank them for that.
