Just got a call that definitely sounded like an African native from 509-671-9444. I think he said Mega Million (left message, actually) and I thought it sounded phony. Darn, but I get sick of calls and e-mails like this! Too darn many.

Received a call from someone named "John Carter," speaking in some sort of foreign accent that was very hard to understand. He told me he's from the "unclaimed department" and telling my about how I won second place in something and that I am to claim two million dollars and a Mercedes Benz. He stated he was with "Mega Millions." I asked him to tell me the name of the person he was trying to contact and he wouldn't provide any name. This is a scam.

My scam was from Mega Millions. I was the monthly winner in the 3.5 million dollars jackpot along with with a 2014 Mercedes. His name was Howard Foster and the voice sounded automated or distorted. The number left was 702-516-9443 in Las Vegas. Wish I could reach through the phone.

I just got two calls from some guy claiming to be named Johnson, but he had a thick Jamaican accent so I didn't believe that was his name. The first time he called me, the line kept breaking up, like he had a bad cellular connection. Then an hour later he called back. Initially he misspoke my last name, saying James instead of Jones. When I called him on that later in the conversation, he said, "We deal with a lot of Jameses"--which is basically an admission that he's just going through the phone book calling people. He claimed he was from a company called Mega Millions in Hawaii and that I'd just won $200,000 plus a new BMW with insurance covered for the first 2-1/2 years by Allstate Insurance Company. He kept asking me if I'd heard of the Allstate Insurance Company, as if this detail made it all true. He wanted to ask me some questions, but I wouldn't let him. I asked him what I had done to win this prize, and he said my name was drawn randomly from one of their sponsors: Walmart, Walgreen's, or CVS Pharmacy. When I told him I never shopped at any of those stores, he added K-mart and 7-Eleven to the list. I told him it was all BS, that none of these stores had my name and phone number. He asked me if I'd received a call from them before. I said, "You called me—45 minutes ago, and I told you not to call me back, you freaking idiot." Then he called me a freaking idiot and hung up.

People, if it sounds too good to be true, it isn't.

A PERSON WHO SAID HIS NAME WAS MIKE HENRY *(1=876-792-0775) CALLED ME SEVERAL WEEKS AGO AND SAID I HAD WON $2,500,000 PLUS A CAR AND OTHER ITEMS FROM MEGA MILLIONS.  HE SPOKE WITH A FOREIGN ACCENT AND MENTIONED HOW CHRISTIAN HE WAS, I.E.,A DEACON IN HIS CHURCH, ETC. THIS GUY MANAGED TO PERSUADE ME TO PART WITH AT LEAST $15,000 OF MY VERY SMALL SAVINGS ACCOUNT, PLUS GOT OTHER INFORMATION WHICH HE PERSUADED ME WAS NEEDED FOR THE FEDERAL RESERVE, TAXES, INSURANCE, ETC. I WAS DUMB ENOUGH TO BELIEVE HIM BECAUSE I REALLY NEEDED THOSE WINNINGS. AT LEAST THREE TIMES HE CALLED AND SAID HE WAS ALMOST AT MY DOORSTEP WITH MY WINNINGS. EACH TIME HE FAILED TO SHOW AND ALWAYS HAD AN EXCUSE AS TO WHY HE COULDN'T MAKE IT. THIS MAN IS A HAZARD TO SENIOR CITIZENS BECAUSE OF THE WAY HE TALKS THESE PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MEAGRE FUNDS. OTHER GUYS WHO CALL THEMSELVES ALEX JENSEN, RAYMOND PETERSEN, JAMES LINCOLN, DAVID SNYDER, JAMES GILLMANN. AND RAYMOND JOHNSON ARE ALSO INVOLVED IN THESE SCAMS. ALL OF THEIR PHONE NUMBERS ARE TRACEABLE TO KINGSTON OR OTHER PARTS OF JAMAICA. BEWARE OF THESE GUYS!!! THEY ARE A DANGER TO YOUR POCKETBOOK.

Caribbean accent, said I'd won 2.5 million and a Mercedes, just for paying my bills on time.  Knew my name, even though my number is unlisted.  Instructed me to go to the Mercedes dealership to pick out my car, and that he would contact me to let me know how to claim my car and check.  I immediately called police, and ftc.  The caller id number was 876-337-0615.  He identified himself as Peter Brown.

I received a call like this just this weekend.  He said I had won 63.4 Million Dollars and a 2014 Chevy Malibu. The call was from Mark Anderson (blocked number the first time)  he said but I was to call back with the "park" number and winning confirmation number to the General Manager, John White at 1-876-447-7261 which was in Jamaica. He called back two times to make sure that I called this John White.  He kept repeating that I didn't have to give any information but kept referring to the IRS and FBI and would need to be assured that I would pay the taxes. He said that there would be a card that the money would be deposited to.  I ended up hanging up on him, calling the phone company and reporting the number.

I have received MANY scams lately! I must be on a suckers mailing list. I got the calls from Jamica from a "George Washington". I even received a check from US Bank claiming it would cover their costs. When I went to a US Bank, they ran the account and said it was bogus, even though the check paper was legitimate with watermarks and other security features. I left the left and bogus check (which I did not endorse) with them so they could prosecute. Mail fraud and bank fraud come to mind on that one.

Not I just learned about the green dot card fraud and this is the latest one from Mega Millions in Alberta, Canada. Private caller showed on called ID, however, 'Peter Franklin' gave his number as (647) 493-0136, X-3. When I questioned him about his Toronto number for an Alberta company, he tried to make a weasel explanation.

These folk are scum and should be locked away and thrown away the key! Furthermore, I am tired of these incessant calls. The only way they'll stop is if they get arrested!

Arthur Steinberg and Charles Heavens have been calling me repeatedly for a year lying about winnings I have. They tell me to pay the last payment but it never ends. There is always another charge. Finally I was told they had been deceiving me because if I'd known how much money was to be paid, I would never have done it. Right but that is their scam. After I finished paying what they said I owed, same old story they added a house to the winnings and now I have to pay taxes, SCAMMERS who hat to be told they are scammers.

Received same phone call from foreign sounding man who claimed to be Michael Peterson, CEO of Megamillions. He kept saying I would get an e-mail and I did. It was from Megamillions Sweepstake Co and had all the information about all the fees I needed to pay before delivery of my  $2.7 million. Same money card from Wal-Mart, CVS, or Wal-greens. He wanted to pray with me for my great fortune! I told him I would after I received the check.  Haven't heard from him.

12/2/14 I received a call today from David Miller saying I won 125,000 and a 45in flat screen tv and someone would bring the goods to my home. My number was randomly picked for the mega million sweepstake but he didn't know my name nor my address but the check was already in my city. I called back changed my voice and said I was the winners lawyer and he hung up on me. He had also asked me to get a green dot card for a 165.00 from cvs for the ups man. They say that americans are stupid people and the easies to scam well not this one.
