I am having same issues of Peeling leather sofa withing 9 months of purchase. I bought the warranty then also they deny saying that peeling is not covered in the warranty.

Less than 1 year should also be covered in manufacturing warranty but still they find excuse to deny it.

Please all of you login to www.bbb.org and file a complaint with Better Business beaureau. It takes less than 5 minutes to file the complaint and they will start addressing your complaint right away. File your complaint against both Ashley Furniture and Montage Furniture (Warranty Company) This will also reduce their BBB rating and BBB can take action against them it they are genuine issues reported to them.

It is better than putting your complaint here on this forum.  :(

I am having this same issue with another funriture store called Gardiner's.  Furniture is just 2 years old and my hubbys side the back is peeled so bad, the seat cushion has 2 spots and the are is now peeling.
We ar ein negotiations with them.  I am pissed cause I paid a fairly good amount for this sofa, loveseat and ottoman.

Normally I buy only AMerican SIgnature funriture but Gardiner's is supposed to be a better furniture store than Ashley and Value City Furniture.

It's no just the quality of the leather. All leather furniture will do this if not cleaned and protected. The oils that come out of you body damage the leather. A good furniture repairman can fix the issue by custom matching the pigments. After that you should get head and armrest covers or it will do it again

You are not alone -  Ashley has the poorest customer service and the extended protection is a joke.  They refused a claim for my sofa because I could not tell them WHAT happened to make it come unattached (as anyone with kids know..."we never know what happened - it just was like that.)  The manager at the local store actually told me to make something up and file the claim that way.
To make matters even worse - they sell you the protection plan stating that if the cushions ever lose their fluff - they will fix/replace them...but never tell you that the pillows (which are the functional back to my couch/loveseat - not just decorative accents) are not covered.  Just try sitting in the furniture without them - or better yet try to replace them (as they do not sell the pillows separately)
Pair that to the fact that all stores are independently owned so from a Corporate perspective Ashley Furniture could not give a rat's behind to how the customer is treated or to standing behind their product - it is a pass the buck game>>they simple refer you back to the store.

We bought the Signature Design bonded couch, recliner and love seat  with electric reclining seats at Ashley on Jan. 5, 2011.  The recliner is bubbling and peeling on the back of the seat.  We purchased the extended warranty from Guardian and were told it would cover anything.  Ha!! We were immediately turned down by the warranty people and now we are trying to talk to the store to see if they would do anything.  Don't buy anything from Ashley they misrepresented the durability of the bonded leather and the warranty to get the sale.  Shame on this store.  I am going to call our TV stations Consumer reporter and let them get to the bottom of this.  Maybe some air time on TV might keep someone else from our mistake.

What a joke is right,  I have not had my furniture 2 years and it is peeling away,  this Co should be ashamed of itself,  this is a form of stealing from patrons it is an absolute disgrace!!  Yet they continue to sell this same sectional (bonded leather)  I am totally heart broken to have spent my hard earned money on furniture that is worse than a great piece I have bought in the past from a second hand shop!!  Shame on you with this many complaints yet you continue to lie to your customers and still advertising the same couch with this material that peels away (I've done the research)  I hope who ever is thinking about what you are saying about this furniture heeds our warnings or they will be on this same post expressing there complaint which would be a real honest one!!!  Ashley Furniture should research every customer who bought this type of furniture and find a way to re-pay there customers before they have none!!!!!!!

Too late for me. I hope others will check Ashley's history buying from them.

thank you all for your input on bonded leather.   I was interested in buying the same.   After your experiences, I think it would be wise to wait for the "real thing". It  sounds like too much headache for the price & no real savings.
As for suchnsuch, if you're realism was tempered with more compassion and delivered with more tact/less obnoxious arrogance;   your practical advice would not be as offensive, and fall on more receptive ears.

I have a "durablend" couch and loveseat. The loveseat started peeling horribly. I contacted Ashley corporate customer service by email and sent them photos of my furniture. I kept following up on it and told them it was defective and I also was told to purchase the worthless warranty. I pursued and got a credit for the cost of the loveseat. I used it to purchase a microfiber recliner...I hope it holds up. All the stores now have this "look-alike" "durablend" type leather furniture for decent prices. They all end up peeling. It's a rip off. Real leather was too expensive so we are trying to go with microfiber from now on. Be polite, keep pursuing it, send photos and don't accept their first offer for money.
    Good-luck.

Ashley is a rip off   . !!!!!!!!!!!!!.. Recliner    love seat peeled  at the head rest   in less than one year .We were told it is due to the oils in the hair .     We dumped it  ....    Bought a real leather  recliner  ...    ..Trying to  sell the recliner sofa.. It has peeled along the edges;    Good thing we did not buy the warranty    WE bought a paint on filler   for $50   to cover the peeling spots -   for now   .     Going back to a regular fabric sofa      Do the math, we have spent a pretty penny   .If we bought a real leather sofa the first time    ( though it was too expensive)  we would not have to go through this mess along with so m any other people that have been dupped.

    Bye bye Ashley

I bought leather furniture from Gray's Furniture 4 pieces and all are peeling after 4 years. It only me and my husband that live in our home. My job requires me to travel so I am gone 4 to 6 months out of the year in other words I haven't had time to enjoy the furniture. Gray's  Furniture repaired them and return them the same day the furniture was return it started peeling again.
Called Gray's and the manager came out to inspect and notice it as well.  The manager called back the next day and stated they would recover/repair them again. I stated I would continue to send the furniture back until we get a credit for something other than leather. We found out that furniture wasn't all leather mix with polyurethane which will continue to peel.

I bought a bonded leather sectional about 2 years ago and it didn't take long at all for it to peel. Is there a way yo fix it, a kit or something or do I just have to replace it?

Ive had the same problems  The recliner peeled off starting at the headrest area  and then the cushions began to peel from the seams. I keep hoping a class action suit will come about one day for this. Only time will tell

I paid a small fortune at Morris for two recliners and a reclining couch which are peeling away despite the fact that we have cared for it as directed.  The store and the manufacturer say too bad!  Lesson learned.

I am furious as well. I purchased a whole living room set 4 yrs ago and it is in our den that we never use! It is me and my husband only and we saved to buy the same set my son and his wife purchased from a local furniture store in BOWIE . Their furniture started peeling after 2 years and made them sick. I told them to go to the place they purchased it and complain but they didn't and instead bought another one. Mine started peeling also and it is terrible. The furniture has had very little use and I couldn't even give it away as bad as it looks. Our local furniture store told me it was no longer in warranty and would contact Ashley themselves but assured me that Ashley would not do anything. I intend on calling the BBB on Ashley. They can fill us all the bull they want but I intend on going to the top with this situation and can promise I will never buy another Ashley piece ever and will spread the word to family and friends!
