Wow, I wish I had read all of these before I signed up for their new promotional offer of up to 6 TV's, phone & Internet. My initial order was for 11 TV's, Internet, and phone under the bundle and was told the 5 additional TV's would have to go thru another dept...3 weeks later I find out it will cost me an additional $1,300.00 (though they were willing to waive the 5 Joyes $500.00)as I have to purchase the equipment. At least the TV section worked with me and has allowed me to cancel the TV portion waiving the early termination fees because I was not told of the additional cost when I signed up. The phone and the internet are another story...Centurylink strikes!! Dish messed up porting my two phone numbers so apparently centurylink is not going to make me pay an early termination fee for the phones but are charging me $420.00 for the internet...I don't plan on paying and will be reporting this situation to the Attorney General, BBB and our consumer advocates. Best of Luck to everyone!!

I cancelled Dish and agreed to pay an early cancellation fee.  Dish charged my credit card but did not send me a statement showing the payment.  They promised to send a statement at the next billing cycle but did not do so.  When I complained they promised to send me a statement in another three days.  I even had a three way conversation between Dish, the credit card company and myself and they promised to provide a statement. I am still waiting. When I called again a representative told me they do not send out statements for accounts with zero or credit balances.  I believe that anyone who pays for a good or service is entitled to a description of the good or service upon payment.  I would never again do business with Dish.

I'll join any class action out there. I changed to dish and had a long conversation with the salesman about watching Atlanta Braves games and was assured they were on the fox sports station they carried. Well guess again. A large % of the games are blocked. So, I call to tell them the salesman misled me. So I end up talking with some guy, Ishmal(sp) in the joke "executive resolution team" which appears to be a front for saying no. I explain that I was lied to and sold something I did not want. Best I got from the clown was a threat to charge my credit card. You will see me all over the net. Never do business with these people. low lifes

I am in the middle of attempting to cancel Dish network due to their misrepresentation of the total cost. They are stating there will be a $720 charge for early termination. The fact that they did not uphold their end of the contract means nothing.  I am still researching this and dealing with three different companies to cancel.  Let me know if you are still interested.

Dish network cancelled my account because I could no longer afford the service, next I found that the charged my account $210.00 for early termination fee, which caused my account to be over drawn by $190.00. Is there anything I can do? Is there any class action law suit? If anyone has advice or can help, let me know please.  **** STAY AWAY FROM DISH NETWORK ****

Yep, This company is crooked as they come.  They stole money out of my credit card on an account that belonged to my wife.  They double charged the card using the original installation fee authorization in order to collect an early termination fee.  We had to discontinue service because we moved to a neighborhood that would not allow dishes to be installed.  Instead of providing a reasonable waiver, they put the account into collections against my wife, then they illegally charge my credit card under a false claim.  I was unable to get it reversed because they sent the original installation contract to my credit card company in the course of the dispute and the crcard company sided with dish networks !

Crooks crooks crooks  NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.  THEY ARE 100% CROOKS LIARS AND CHEATS.  THEY WOULD STILL THEIR MOTHERS BLIND FOR PERSONAL GAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dish is charging me a $157.50 early termination fee and $20.74 Florida state/local sales tax. I do not believe there is a early termination fee state tax of a little more than 13%. Dish needs to be brought to justice! Everyone file a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General in your state, maybe if we make enough noise they will do something. Till then tell everyone you know or just get a chance to talk to STAY AWAY FROM DISH1

Bad company stay away from them.
For months I have been trying to get Dish to fix my DSL line. I finally had all I could take and I spent 5 hours on the phone.  My DSL connection drops nonstop. They claim it’s not happening and it's my problem not theirs.  After 5 calls in 1 day I managed to get a tech dispatched. He stood outside looked at the wires and left. Told me he could not talk to me he was from Century Link.  I call Dish back asked why he did come in side and check the gear. They said he was not dispatched for that reason but they had good news they planned to waive the $110.00 service fee and the problem is fixed...I told them he did nothing and I am still dropping my connection.  They want $741.00 to terminate the contract.  They told me they do not guarantee service.  It was suggested I move my home office to another part of the house ...the family room or master bedroom so I have a short distance from the box...crazy people you can’t escalate on them. They put you on hold and about an hour later the line goes dead.

I'm a senior on a low fixed income, so when my Dish service became too expensive, I was anxious to end my 2 year contract and quit it.  I'd had it for just over a year when a cable service, Charter, called me with an offer that seemed to be too good to be true; they would pay my early termination fee if I switched to their bundled service.  "All" I had to do was send them a copy of Dish's final billing that included the termination fee, and then Charter would send me a check for that amount.

I should have suspected it could not be that easy.  The day Charter installed their services, I called Dish to cancel.  After surviving the expected pitch to continue their service, I requested a final statement with the fee stated in the form of snail mail or email.  They responded that it is not their practice to do EITHER.  When I tried to call again, hoping to get a better response, I got a recording that I am no longer a customer and I have two options....hit #1 for "order new services" or hit #2 for "pay my bill NOW".

I think if I am willing to pay the fee, I should be entitled to a statement of some kind as to that fee.

Now, I am upset with Charter too, because I think they must have know it would be near-impossible to get this fee in "writing" and they won't reimburse me unless I do.  They won't accept a bank statement, which is the only proof I will have of their fee being deducted from my paltry account.

Same issue with us.....DISH has it timed "exactly right" so a person CANNOT GET THEIR EARLY TERMINATION STATEMENT within the 60-day period required for Charter to pick up the fee.  Something really "smells" here, and it is TOTALLY ROTTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not get dish! I've had problems with them since the first month. There was one week that I didnt have service because something was wrong with the satellite and I had to wait one full week for a tech to come out and then they still charged me for those days that I did not have any service when it wasnt even my fault then I was charged $15 for the tech that came out. How is that even possible? Now I want to cancel dish and I've had three different people tell me different things. From $20 a month to $30 a month and one woman said "she's never heard of a plan or another way to pay the early termination fee but the $380 be paid in 20 days." Unbelievable. My bill went up $7 since the first month without my approval. And I was never informed about a contract. I'm still going to try to get rid of dish without paying the fee.

I will not sign up again once my contract runs out and that's one year from this month. I want the Longhorn Network and, if they can't get it for the customers it means they aren't a good cable company. Time Warner is now offering it to the customers, so guess who will sign up with Time Warner in one year or maybe before, if I can pay the termination fee and it's not that high.

I cancelled dish, paid the 420 then called to see about some equipment that they also needed back. When I called back, they said they didn't need anymore equipment and they refunded my cancelation fee..   only to be charged again for the cancelation! I will not pay twice for there stupidity! They have collection agency calling me all day long, I won't budge!

Well IF u want to switch to another cable company-tell the new company you will switch over to them ONLY IF they help you with the cancellation fee. Basically what happened for me-I had dish for less than a month. Customer service were mean, so when I got this nice offer in the mail from Optimum-I called them up and said I wanted to take advantage of their offer but I couldn't afford the early termmination fee to get out of dish. Optimum offered to pay $200 of the cancellation fee

Dishnetwork  is the worst that i have ever used. it constantly is out and everytime it gets cloudy it wont work. i have called them several times and they want to charge to come out and see whats wrong. i have tried 4 different computers and they all have the same results ,slow internet when it works and constantly not able to connect. they want over $600 to cancel the tv contact and over $420 to cancel the internet. it was bundled when i signed up for it and now they want to charge 2 early termination fees for what i was told would only be around $175 when i got their service.THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CHARGE CUSTOMERS FOR EARLY TERMINATION. i never got a copy of the  contract from them  because it was set up from another Location and done over the phone. I WILL NEVER HAVE DISH NETWORK AGAIN OR WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.
