i also had this call they told me that someone had withdrawn money from my account witch was a lie but they knew some recent transactions i had made it was scary i had to change my account
Probably because it wasn't you that was doing the transactions, it could have been someone else in the world who had your details and was having a great time shopping with your money. Good call on changing your account :)

This number is genuine. I was suspicious but phoned Lloyds customer services from the number on their website and asked them to transfer me to fraud prevention services who told me someone had taken money out of my account in Tunisia. It really scared me.
I'm not sure it is genuine, i spoke to a Scottish lady who then patched me through to someone in the Philippines who spoke little English and was asking me to confirm my address and phone number even though the recorded garbled message said they wouldn't ask any info like that! will not be answering again in the future.

Yeah its legit someone tried to take £190 on three occasions at a ATM in Poland from my account! impressive considering how insanely careful i am about my pin.
This same thing happened to me today. Automated call asking if I had made 3 transactions in Brazil (one of which had been approved) . When I pressed 'no' it put me through to an operator, who reassured me that they would refund the one that had been approved and send me a form to sign. Spooked me a bit that someone had cloned my card (which expires at the end of the month), but I'm very impressed that Lloyds are on top of it; an excellent service.
Genuine number. All recent transactions that were questioned were correct.

I had a call from this number last night and have just called Lloyds and they've said there is nothing dodgy on my account at all. Also I have recently moved house and changed my contact details online, but the 0845 number called my in-laws where I had been staying before. Just checked my details online and Lloyds don't have that as my number anymore....
I did try calling the 0845 number back but hung up when the recorded message I got didn't say anything about what company it was I had called

Received a call this morning. Rather than answer the query made or try phoning the number back I contacted the bank direct and they were able to confirm the call came from them querying a transaction made yesterday which I was able to confirm was genuine.

FYI
all the comments above which say this is a genuine number are incorrect.
our branch manager just confirmed the letter we received from these people purporting to be from lloyds was on fake letter head and had the wrong font. it was also only one sided and had an expired account number as reference.
the branch manager called the telephone line 0845 6031755 and tried to get security coded information to prove that they were lloyds from the person on the other end of the line who swore at her (on speakerphone in the bank) and hung up.
this is 100% confirmed fraud and has been passed to the fraud department (the real fraud department, not the people posing as it) i would go so far as to say the scammers have googled this and are trying to drum up business on this website by posting messages saying it is legitimate and daft horror stories.
Banking 101: DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER, DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION ON THE PHONE.
Go into your bank and speak to the manager. These people cannot scam you unless you call and give them the information they need.
Even the font on the letter was the wrong font for god's sake!
I suggest whoever is webmaster on here reports the IP address/s of the person/people who have claimed this is legitimate to Lloyds TSB so that they can catch the [***].

Number is genuine. I had a call today, so I called Lloyds to check and they confirmed it's their card fraud dept. Just call them yourself if you're unsure on the normal Lloyds phonebank:
"If you suspect that any of your Lloyds TSB accounts have been accessed online by someone other than yourself, contact us immediately on 0845 3000 116 (or +44 20 7649 9437 from overseas)*."

Lloyds customer
I've posted this elsewhere, but posting here too:
I got a call late last night and thought it a fraud. I got another this morning. I called Lloyds TSB using the bank's standard call centre number - 0845 3 000 000 - where the person I spoke to confirmed that the number 0845 603 1755 is a genuine department at Lloyds Bank.
On calling this number and jumping through a few hoops, I found my card had been compromised, with someone attempting to make a large payment (thousands of pounds) from a company I've never dealt with. Lloyds had cancelled this anyway, but have now also cancelled my card and sent another.
For the doubters on this thread, more fool you. To the people claiming they've contacted Lloyds and this is a scam, or people like me are scammers, you are liars and are being hugely unhelpful. If I'd listened to you, I'd have lost more than a month's wages in one fell swoop.
If you get a call like this and are sceptical, there's a simple solution - call 0845 3 000 000 to confirm the validity of the number. If your situation is anything like mine, you'll be very grateful that you did.

For people who have just been caught in this evil scam,
phone lloyds tsb asap. . . tell them the number and they will sort it out. . depending on how recent any transactions u had they might confirm there and then if theres been any fraudulent use but if its too recent they might not know the specifics straight away
if u have not confirmed a payment wininigly debit payments that u didnt do will be sorted but warn them about any activity
what lloyds tsb also said due to the limited questions asked ( ie confirm they have the right dob ect) it could be used for credit against ur name
lloyds do a cheap service that constantly check and fones u to confirm any sort of activity to ensure it is u ... 6.99 u dont have to take it but after been just caught in this scam i belive its worth doing.
so for anyone else feeling complete idiots. . ur not the only one but get ur ass into gear and phone the real lloydstsb asap
This number is genuine if your not convinced just go in to your local branch and ask them or ring them its as simple as that

I found this to be a genuine Number; was an Automated call informing me of a Card being blocked due to perculiar usage, pretty darn useful as it's probably just helped my online purchase go through properly (It's what was flagged up).
But call Lloyds TSB and double check anyway, and perhaps get forwarded to the right department like I did, only 8 minutes on the Phone getting it sorted.

The people commenting on this page saying this is not genuine must be living in a parallel universe.

I have just called Lloyds personally and it is a genuine number. If it wasn't, it would be listed on their 'Fraud alerts' page:
http://www.lloydstsb.com/security/fraud_alert_centre.asp
When you've just found out someone is trying to use your credit card, it really doesn't help to have other people trying to maliciously confuse you.
