I just had a call from this number and being totally paranoid - I didn't call back. Instead, I googled the number and found this site. So after reading the posts, I called Lloyds TSb on a number I usuall use. They said that yes, the call was genuine and was regarding an oline purchase i hade made.
So there you are - this is a genuine call. However - always check by using an independent number, because there are lots of scams out there. I know, cos the've tried having me a few times now. (unsuccesfully !!!)
good luck

2006 fraud act the bank dont need to report fraud to the police, Lloyds TSB can police itself without police involvement. so why should anyone on this forum believe the bank when they dont investigate. wake up people on this forum. look at the history of the number its a SCAM WAKE UP.
That's just ignorant calling it a scam, it is NOT a scam. Any emails that are from 'Lloyds' most likely are viruses or scams but that phone number IS Lloyds automated fraud hotline. They ask for the phone number that they left a message on (Asking you to call back) and once you fill it in (you may have to repeat it) they ask to confirm a few other pieces of information such as date of birth etc, they do not ask you for account information or pin numbers, and they then read out your latest transactions of which one may be someone who has stolen your account details and is having a merry old time trying to use your money to buy whatever the heck they want. I agree that people should go to their bank and Lloyds even if they don't think they have an account there, and to go discuss it with them to set their mind at rest without being as so ignorant as to just think it's a scam!!

I received three missed calls on my mobile, two on my works mobile and four messages on my answer phone. I too thought it was a scam but after going through the Lloyds TSB phone bank they have confirmed that 08456031755 IS their Credit / Debit Card Fraud Prevention unit. Someone had copied my card and had tried to make a withdrawal in JAPAN!

Let me confirm for everyone this is a GENUINE TSB number. Have just spoke to the bank and checked and transferred to that number.(card fraud) It is an automated number which lists several of your recent transactions before checking if they are all genuine ( press 1 if they're real etc). I had made a large purchase after midnight from JohnLewis, around 600 quid, so I guess it looked suss! It's actually quite a good service with several security questions to pass etc.

Thank you for these posts. I have just received an automated call from 08456031755 and rang the Lloyds TSB to ask if this was genuine. It certainly is. Someone was trying to take £99.99 on a transaction and Lloyds believed it to be suspicious and stopped it.
I am genuinely concerned by posts that claim that this number is fraudulent. What have they got to hide? The bottom line is ring Lloyds TSB direct to check, and they will transfer you to the correct department. You'll be glad that you did.

Hi, I got the automated message today. I have had money taken before so I rang the number to find out what was going on. Someone had tried to buy £430 of stuff from Gap in Rugby. Luckily the payment was declined. If you get the automated message from Lloyds ring them!

This is a genuine number. The automated message reads out a list of recent transactions on the account and you simply press 1 if all are correct.

Since my last msge I contacted my local lloyds bank & explained I recieved a call but don't even )able with them, the lady confirmed it was a genuine # but they had the wrong mobile number for the gentleman they were trying to contact. My guess is if you bank with lloyds and recieve a call like this and do actually bank with lloyds tsb don't ignore the call but maybe check it all out with your local bank .

This is rather scary - I recieved an email from Lloyds to say there may be an issue with my account, I DONT have an account with them.
an email isn't the same as this number though, that email is most likely a phishing program or a virus that will activate once you open the email or click on any attachments to that email :(
