I keep getting phone calls form these Indian accented individuals by the name of John Miller... I was ill and was in the hospital, he threatened to come and take me to jail... i asked him what was the company that I owed money to, he game the number but it was to one of his colleagues.... How about that??? He has been calling me since February of 2012 and it's becoming irritating...  the numbers that he's calling from are: 347-756-5036, 330-265-7673, 917-460-0373,402-201-1100, 201-215-1726, 760-670-3693, 718-690-9021, 911, 480-2706319.... He stated that I better get a lawyer because it was gonna cost me $8000 for a $300 loan that I don't remember taking sometime last year!!!!  I want to file a lawsuit against them!!!

I too have a problem with a Payday Loan company. I defaulted on the original payment, but I did pay them back late with additional interest & penalties. But that was not good enough. They filed an OCC (out of court compalint) and want to have me arrested and press criminal check fraud charges against me. Everyone tells me that I cannot be arrested for this, however, I received a phone from my local police dept (I verified the number on caller I.D.) that the OCC officer has requested that I be arrested. I have been trying to work something out to avoid this, but they still want to press charges. I want my day in court to plead my side of all this, I just don't want the shame & stress of physically being arrested. Plus it will ruin my life. I will lose my teaching job and will not be able to work anywhere else. Why is this court trying to ruin me? I am not a criminal, I just made a mistake of which I paid everything back. This has been going on for two weeks. I can't afford a lawyer, yet I desperately need one. I can't sleep, eat and have vomited sebveral times from the stress. Can anyone help?

This is a scam. Inform your bank that you have been the victim of a scam and you need them to stop any automatic withdrawals from this company in future. It's possible you will need to close your account and open a new one. Any debt collector that talks with ANYONE BUT YOU about your debt is not a legitimate business or is acting in a criminal way.

I received a call today about 2 payday loans from like 5 years ago. One was with a comapny I have never heard of. I did default on the other one due to job loss and then honestly, I forgot about it. So today I missed a cal from 888-888-88 (yes, that was the entire number on caller id). I checked my voicemail and they gave a number of 866-831-8295. I called and was transeferred to a gentleman who explained that I am being sued for both checks and that there is a $1500 attorney fee for both and $375 fee (for what I have no idea) attached to both also. He stated that they have copies of the checks, copies of my id, affidavites from my bank, and survellance from both loan places. He stated that I intended to fraud the places and that they are mailing the legal documents to my last 3 residences as well as last 3 palces of employment. Then he hung up. I have no idea what to do. Is he trying to scare me or does this sound legit. I live in Texas. Can i go to prison? I'm nervous.

You cannot go to jail for a loan because it is civil the FBI doesn't have anything to do with a loan.
only way you can go to jail is if you refuse a court date but then again the judge may not care because this is a civil matter!

Today 11/19/2012 i just received a call twice from a 913 Kansas number. First he left a message saying i took out a payday loan (which first of all i applied for a loan and never relieved anything) the message said i failed ti pay them back and that i needed to get an attorney and also their attorney would be coming to my address to pick me up in thirty minutes to take me away for 30 days (BTW they never came) then they called back and said tomorrow i will be going to jail and to get a lawyer. and they even read to me the last four digits of my social. I never heard of someone going to jail for a loan. and especially if you never got a loan. What do you think of that? And can they be reported?

If you default on loans in America you don't get incarcerated- you get summonsed to court. The only time you can be arrested for not paying money is if you owe that money to the government or you have been ordered by a judge to pay money to an individual or company and you fail/refuse to. If you haven't been summonsed to court and had a judgement against you, anyone saying you will be arrested for an outstanding loan is a scammer.

Got a call today - the caller id said "Gary Bussie" and the number was 718-524-7904. The guy said he was a process server for my county. He couldn't even pronounce the county name correctly. LMAO!

The number he gave me is 866-831-8295 to call for info. I told him if he really was a process server, that processor server's do not call, they just show up & serve you. I have called my county court house who turned the info in to the AG & they are looking into charges for falsly claiming to be a clerk of the court.

Ok folks this is all a scam. If you are being sued they have to tell you why no matter if you have an attorney or not. If you ask they must tell you. Second if you have never received legal documents stating the legal matter via certified mail. Then they can't say [***]. If u have never gone to court and lost they can't garnish your pay. Third it is illegal to call job on collecting an owed account. Fourth the FBI would not get involved in a payday loan law suite they have more important things going on. And hello they won't call u before hand giving u they heads up they r arresting u. Giving u the chance to run they just show up.

This is what they call an Indian scam. They r using scaring tactics to scare u into giving them money. Come on folks think ok. And giving out American names when the sound like ape from the Simpsons.
I told one Robert Woods aka Calvin White aka Robert Wolf aka whatever name he is this week to go [***] a cow. And if he did not stop well then I school him on the law cause I am a law student.
