I purchased ''Maverick'' tv series from these crooks before I read about the dozens of complaints about this rogue trader.I would just like to warn people about purchasing complete tv series on the Internet, especially those series from the 1950's,the vast majority of which are not in the public domain.Stick with the reputably established online companies like AMAZON etc.

I ordered a boxed set of 'In Living Colour' 3 weeks ago. I thought to send them an email to follow up on my order. I then started researching more about the website. I thank all the people who have posted comments on this website because it gave me time to cancel my card and definitely is a lesson to learn.I am terribly sorry to hear your experiences with these scammers. I was almost a victim with tvaddicts.com. I still dont understand why google still allows this wesbite to be available on the search engine given that several people have had a bad experience with this fraudulent sites. I am trying to find a website even through google to delete these websites from existence.

I also ordered from TVaddicts.tv last week. They are a total scam. I can't believe I didn't see the warning signs. They have also told me the lie about "backorders" coming in "next week."

Question: Has anyone here seen fraudulent charges to their credit cards besides the order they placed with TVaddicts.tv and similar sites? In other words, once they get your credit card information, do they use it freely to make additional fake charges? Do they give the information out to other crooks?

These people are scammers. You need to contact your credit card company ASAP and dispute the charge. The charge is fraudulent.

Thank you everyone who has taken the time to write about your horror stories with this company. They almost got me for this Christmas holiday. Stay away from these guys below:

They are all scammers. Merry Christmas!

Can't believe I fell for this one!
I was in a hurray last December, trying to get some old Batman DVD's for my 12 year old Autistic son.
He had found the site and was so happy that he had found the ones he wanted.
So silly me,ordered, paid and of course...
got DVD's that looked like they had been copied from a TV.
Totally unwatchable terrible picture & sound.
What a disappointment for my son.
Valuable lesson learnt;"Always google for complaints on a site before you order!"
Of course they have said they will refund the money, but haven't as yet.
    Won't hold my breath waiting!
What goes around comes around....one day they will get caught.

I ordered the complete Night Court and WKRP in Cincinnatti, paying $200 for the first and $60 for the second.  After I realised that they were pirated, I contacted them and asked for my money back and asked for a package to send them back.  They refunded the $200 for Night Court, but not for WKRP, and never sent the package to mail them back.

I started buying Night Court seasons as soon as they were released, one by one, since I do believe in respecting copyright laws.  However, WKRP season one, which was released commercially, was incomplete; the company that owned the rights to the show apparently could not acquire the rights to the clips from actual popular songs that were featured in the series.  Instead, they re-recorded those song clips, and even overdubbed character dialogue which took place during them.

Under the circumstances, I have no issue with holding on to and enjoying the WKRP DVDs I purchased; if the company with the rights to a product are unwilling to provide it to the public, then consumers should be free to find such products from whoever is willing to provide them.  Having said that, as soon as I collect the complete seasons of Night Court, I plan on throwing out the old DVDs I purchased from tvaddicts.tv; I do not condone the pirating of materials that have been made commercially available by the owners of the rights to such shows.

    Hello everabody,

I almost bought the complete DVD of the Murphy Brown series.  Fortunately, I decided to take a look in the web to see if there were any complaints. Thanks to everyone for their useful comments which avoided me to loose money and time.
    Best luck, Nat from Switzerland

To my surpries, Just like you, I got my order with Tvaddicts's "courage the cowardly dog" 4 disks DVD today, ordered on 11 JUL 2010.

The DVD's quality is not the best but not the worst i would say they are good enough for me.

    I get a pleasant surprise.

    Baretta set...
I ordered TV addicts "Baretta" set back in November. It took a month to get here, but when it arrived it wasn't "Baretta"...it was "Walker Texas Ranger."  All this after they assured me that "Baretta" was in stock and ready to ship. Then I got a notice that it was on backorder, then I got another e-mail saying that the e-mail about the backorder was erroneous and they in fact DID have it in stock.  When "Walker" arrived I complained and they said they would send out "Baretta" right away.  However two weeks later..."Simon and Simon" showed up.  No "Baretta." I don't think they even own "Baretta." It's a scam, it's fraud, and I'm calling my credit card company to dispute the charge for merchandise not delivered.  i wish somebody would hack their website and bring them down. Friggin' thieves.

Another mug!!! But one for the good guys
Yes sadly I too got caught in the web and when I did eventually receive 1 dvd (fake) of george lopez series I contacted mastercard who arranged my refund. Unfortunately, when I questioned as to whether my card may be used fraudulently in the future? I was told it would have been by now as it had been 30 days+ so it was safe. (Don't listen....just stop the card and get a new one.....)
I was wrong to take this advice and not block the card.
A month later my card paid for trips to Jamaica, Dubai, posted several hundred pounds to Africa, bought curries for my unknown "friends" and also topped up their mobile phone which incidently is the first way they test the card is still active with a £20 top up request. It amounted to £3500 plus but I was lucky, I acted beyond mastercard who were happy just to refund me all the money and not bother chasing up the criminals!!!!
I did my own investigation with the Police who were brilliant and we nailed a group who had bought the card details online. Unfortunately, we could prove a link to whom they'd obtained the details. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    PissedOff!
I have recently been victimized by TV Addicts.tv. I'd purchased the Wonder Years DVD Series for an estimate amount of $45. (NEVER received the item ordered.) The first two weeks, they kept telling me my order was on back order too. The third week, their website disappeared and the phone number disconnected. There were also no more replies via email. I saw the charge of an estimated amount of $569 (on the same day of the charge), using a false name under "httpsshoprucdksu." I hope to get my money back too, it's been one month since the date of the psuedo purchase. I have reported this EVIL people to the IRS Internet Crimes Unit. I hope they get caught. EVIL, EVIL PEOPLE!

Thanks so much for posting these horror stories.  I too found the website in researching another project and found it to hard to believe that the 50s series "Rescue 8" could be bought with all its episodes for only $2.99?  Impossible!  But each tv series I looked up on their site as boxed sets online had "Sold Out" listed next to them.  Anyway, I'm so glad I caught this complaint site before I too became a victim.

    deceived
This tvaddicts is just one of many such internet stores operated by the same thieves. Dvdavenue.com and now www.dvdtvstore.com have both the same phone number as this tvaddict.com. I ordered a dvd box from dvdtvstore.com a month ago. I have already had to email them 3 times. First I emailed them a week after a placed my order to inquire about my orders shippment. I got no answer. I wrote a second time to them a week after that. They did not answer but a week and half later I got an email that the dvds that I order were indeed shipped. There was an email address to a site www.ems.com/CN through which I could follow my orders route to me. That link did not work. I googled ems.com/CN only to find out it was China´s postal firm. And I thought I had ordered from the US of America. (I live in Europe) Only after I googled the dvdtvstores phone number 1-888-293-4134 (which was in the email I got from them 2 seconds after I placed the order, funny enough) I found out about the complaints made by customers of dvdavenue.com and now on this site tvaddicts.com. All of these companies have the same phone number, and the stories I read are like mine. No-one answers your emails, people whom have canceled their orders have not gotten their money back. And if they´ve gotten the dvds they have ordered the dvds are copied from tv and are poor quality. After reading all this I tried to cancel my order which I had already paid unfortunately. I may have lost 94 USD:s to them. That angers me a lot but then again it´s only 94 USD:s. The worse feeling is the feeling of having been deceived and the knowledge that they can still do this to people all over the world on so many webshops. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
