Yes, They beg you to pay the $4.95 to get a $500.00 gift card from Walmart and a gas card. I kept this Indian guy on the phone a half hour.  Told him I was searching for my card.  He was still there, right then I knew it was a scam.  A normal person would have moved on to the next caller.  Don't believe the hype.

Two families randomly selected in my area to recieve a 500 dollar gift card to Walmart.I bought it up untill Gupta asked for my credit card information. Thankfully I found this site stopping me from making a big mistake. Thanks for the heads up, its a scam. Waw wah.

Keep the comments coming in, this is just one way to stop the off shore trash from ruining our country and its citizens. DON'T pay one penny to this gang, I doubt if they will travel from Indonesia or India to come to a U.S. court to dispute their fraudulent charges on any agreement that you were coerced in making, fight the scum bags.

HA! I just received a call from a 011 number and the representative was from India I assume.  He offered me the $500 walmart giftcard and then another $25 giftcard. He explained that the total charge would be $4.95 for shipping and handling. I asked him to repeat the company name and as he did, I (interrupted my daughters reading time) and Googled the company name and instantly saw the complaints. I then confronted the man about what I was reading and guess what he said????/....he said that he could do the shipping for .50 cents and all he needed was my card number and not my pin number!! Haha since when do you provide your pen number when making a purchase with your debit/credit card over the phone....I eventually hung up! BEWARE!!!

I just had the exact same thing happen. It must be the same guy. I also asked him to  hold while I called my bank and he did. I argued with him for quite a while about why I would not give him my card # and that you can use the card without the code on the back. Why would a company be so persistant if they were giving away free stuff? they would just hang up and give it to someone else.

So, I also received a call today from an Indian man named Micheal Williams claiming to work for a company called savings plus offering me 500 worth of gift cards and 50 worth of gas cards. Asking me for 4.95 from my credit card I told him I would pay in cash for the delivery.  He argued with me saying how can I use the card without the three numbers on the back trying to make me feel like I'm dumb and too paranoid by not trusting him with the info.  I did however give my name and address as I was hopeful to finally be winning something.  Oh well my address isn't tied to any of my money.  Beware this scam.  I've read about this and other companies that use these tactics, 4.95 one time turns into a 200 a month agreed subscription, and ask for more money before they will send you the card. Additional shipping costs, loss and replacement fees even sometimes a cancellation fee.  Beware of emails and calls from google visa or walmart as you will never get anything free from these companies.  Micheals money tree for instance will ask you for a one time fee to connect you with a hiring rep from google to get paid to link sites and searches.  What you only read in the fine print is that you are actually subscribing for future connections at the cost of 172 a month.  I wrote google to report this and never got a reply after several emails.  Maybe they like many other companies/ corperations that have a tiny finger in the scam biz.  Anyway enough ranting, savings plus scam. Ultimate savings scam, google hiring agents scam anything to good to be true and if you are actaully a winner of some ridiculous contest prize..... Won't ask you to pay up over the phone with a credit card.  In fact they won't call or email you at all unless they tell you to come into the office where you are claiming the gift don't pay for fake money you will never see.  Next time ask them to send a check or card to your house and you will call them back to activate it.  Money doesn't come FROM con men.........

I received that same call saying I won a $500 grocery gift card and a $50 walmart card. He said I only had to pay the shipping and handling of $4.95. The only reason I answer it was because for the past several days I've been getting other phone calls from a 415-363-5658 number. They would call like 5 times a day. Sometimes I would answer and it would be the similar thing that I won a $100 walmart gift card and all I had to pay was the shipping and handling and give my 16 credit card number! Yeah right! I would tell them all the time I'm not going to give them that number and they are so stupid for asking for it and I tell them I want to be taken off their call list (not sure if they've listened yet or are now calling from this odd +011 number?) Anyways, the only thing is though is sometimes I do the walmart survey thing that you see on your receipt after you've bought something. Not sure if that had anything to do with it or not? I've never talked to anyone who has won that.

Wow! Offered $500 grocery voucher and $50 Walmart gift card. Gave them my name a home address, but hesitant on giving my card # over the phone. Thank God they wanted to give me their web mail address and I found everyone here. Hopefully they can't do anything with that much info. Thank you everyone for your feedback, it definitely will help me stay away from future scams.

Yeah i just got off the phone to check that i had 4.95 in my account when i searched that it was a scam on this website. The people definately didnt speak properly and seemed on edge. When i asked them a question they responded loudly, another operator after i told him it seemed suspicious and kept being uneasy called me the B word. These people are extremely rude and disrespectful and should be caught. I was able to cancel the card as soon as I got off the phone. They are really stressed because they are scamming people. Thank God I didnt get scammed.

My situation seems unique and might prove that this is not necessarily a scam by Ultimate Savings Plus, rather a secret third party relationship with Capital One.  From the looks of everyone else's complaints here, they might have relationships with other banks as well.

For the past week, I have been missing a phone call from Capital One on my mobile phone.  They have been stating that their call is regarding a family member's account and that I need to have them call an 800 # and extension.  I figured it was a collection call.  Today I finally called the number myself in order to have them discontinue contacting me.

The phone number rang and rang until I received a recorded voice message.  It stated that I was being offered a $200 gas card if I press 1.  Figuring I needed to press 1 anyway in order to talk to Capital One about the matter, I did it.  It was not Capital One.  It was a representative from Ultimate Savings Plus.  They stated their location was in Phoenix, Arizona.  I listened to their spiel.

I was told that because Capital One's phone lines were busy I was being directed to them in the meantime.  As a result of my inconvenience, I qualified for a $200 gas card for only $2.95.  I was told that there was no catch.  Considering they had my name and phone number and my sister's name and I had dialed Capital One's phone number, I considered it legitimate.

After giving the guy my card information, he revealed that I would be enrolled in a program that was free for 30 days but then it would charge a setup fee + monthly fee.  I figured what the heck.  I am good about closing these types of accounts.  He explained that I would need to repeat my information through an automated verification process and that I would be given an 800# to cancel as well as a verification code to utilize the gas card, which would arrive in 7-10 days.  I specifically asked when I would be connected to Capital One.  He stated directly after the verification process.

During the process, it quickly became clear that I was being signed up for multiple trial programs that I would later have to cancel within 30 days.  This is the first part that I could tell he was being untruthful.  I was originally told one.  After the last verification, I expected that the operator would return to the line. He did not.  I was not transferred to Capital One.  The phone hung up.

Considering the two lies I witnessed, I contacted a general 800# off of Capital One's website.  They of course could not offer any information about Ultimate Savings Plus.  The Capital One representative stated that they are not incahoots with any third-party services like this.  Something seemed fishy about it.  I have been receiving phone calls from Capital One.  I figured there has to be a connection that he didn't know about.

I decided to call the 800# left on my phone again to try and talk to this Ultimate Savings Plus representative again.  To my complete and utter amazement, I was actually connected to Capital One's legal department.  The phone number magically became valid and I was able to reach the voicemail of the extension I had been left.  A detailed message was left regarding the situation but I wasn't satisified.  I patched myself over to someone live at the legal department.

The representative in the legal department that I talked to showed concern about the process I went through and stated that they would speak with a supervisor about what happened.  They knew of no third party services being offered through Capital One as a result of their phones being busy.  It is my opinion that she might not be aware of Capital One's relationship to this third party.

Everytime I call the 800# left on my phone now, I am connected to Capital One.  This leads me to strongly believe that Capital One and Ultimate Savings Plus have an agreement with each other.  Now that I've signed up for the offers and accepted to be bills after 30 days, my number is in Capital One's system and I can no longer inquire about said offers with the third party.  Unless there is an elaborate phone hacking scheme occuring, which I doubt, this is the most likely scenario.

Personally, I'm not too concerned about this.  I have created a paper trail that will exonerate any malicious charges the might incur from Ultimate Savings Plus or their affiliates.  I intend on systematically canceling the services and reaping the benefits of my $200 gas card in the next 20 days.  If I don't get a call back from Capital One, I will phone the representative that I talked to regarding the matter.  All in all, even if I have to cancel three services, $200 in free gas is still a good deal.  I'll find out in 7-10 days.

Just hang up on these charlatans. The old adage, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is", applies in spades in this case.

They always call "from" 011 in my caller ID. I told them I couldn't charge any fees to my card until 1 September because my debit card only reloads once a month from an insurance settlement annuity. The idiot kept saying,"What is September?". I then told them that I didn't need the gas card; could some other offer be substituted because it's no longer safe for me to try to drive, for the same reason I receive the annuity-I got messed up kinda bad by a DWI driver.

Then the moron says, "It is okay you have been charged with drinking driving". "No, Haji!", I began. "I was the victim. The other bloke went to gaol".

When Haji couldn't understand that I was now merely abusing him, I decidead to ask to abuse his supervisor. It's just like the advertisement where you're talking to a Russian man claiming to be "Peggy".

So I get "Peggy" on the line and told him that if they really had some good deals to offer me, it must benefit somebody, such as a merchant trying to move loss-leader items in the example of Hotel/Travel discounts.

Finally I got a kernel of truth out of "Peggy": "No, sir. Nobody benefits from this offer."

"Well, why don't you save yourself the trouble of dying and go out right now and float your putrid corpse down the Ganges while I pray to Kali that you come back as a dung beetle living under my Alabama outhouse?"

"May I simply have your 16-digit number and expiration date, sir".

Is there any way the phone company can put stop to this harrassment? I know it is the same man everytime and everytime I tell him he is scamming people and he's not getting my card number. He argued with me and I told him I DON'T WANT YOUR PRODUCT! He's called 3 times since then and that was 2 days ago.
