There are several internet websites which I believe are scamming the public. Those sites are known as TVaddicts.tv, ultimatedvdshop, tvbox, dvd avenue, to name a few. All these are affiliated and called "sister" sites.

I was going to order a dvd set and found large price discrepancies among all these sites for the same item! I tried to call the phone number posted on each of these sites (which by the way is the same number for all of them), and was met with an answering machine no one every picked up, or I was cut off, or I left messages and have sent emails receiving no response at all.

Why would I ever trust these sites enough to order anything from them when they don't even have someone answering their phones? And on top of that their live "customer service" chat person can't even help. I suspect they are in another country since their written English skills seem to be lacking. I don't want some unsuspecting consumer to get burned using these websites.

I'll never order from this company again. Check your credit card bill. I bought from them, took a month to get the DVD and when I got my credit card statement, I noticed that they double billed me. Now I'm disputing the second charge. I'm a seasoned web user. I have been buying online for years. I can't believe I didn't do a search on this company before I bought. You live and you learn. BTW, TVaddicts.tv is out of Canada. Thanks, Robin

TVADDICTS.TV is still trading despite the hundreds of complaints about their crooked practices, mine included.Incredible as it seems Mcafee site advisor can find no problems with TVADDICTS.TV. So much for internet security and protection.

I tried ordering a show for my sister's christmas present.  I noticed that I had made a mistake; i accidentally switched the billing and shipping address.  so right away, i called the number, left a message.  Sent an email, no response.  i called the next day twice, and left another message each time.  I noticed the charge on my debit card was for $5 more.  It went away the next day, and i figured the charge won't go through, since I switched the addresses.  I checked again an hour ago, and the charge went through!  THis was from 2 weeks ago!  I am so mad!  I never got an email confirmation, no returned phone call or email back.  HOw can this happen?  Now I've been doing my research on this company (DVDAvenue.tv) and many people have complained and never got their product (some actually got their product, but it was all bootleg).  Who can we complain to that actually does something about this?  I know the FCC is in charge of TV and Radio...can they help with the internet too, or is there another agency out there that can control the internet and thieves!?

I JUST LEARN A VALUABLE LESSON AS A FIRST TIME BUYER ON THE INTERNET. ALWAYS CHECK OUT A COMPANY BEFORE A PURCHASE. DON'T BUY FROM THEM OR ANY OF THEIR SISTER COMPANIES. I MADE MY PURCHASE AND WHEN I DIDN'T GET MY CONFORMATION EMAIL I WENT SNIFFING AROUND TO LATE. THEY ALSO BILLED ME ALMOST TEN DOLLARS MORE THEN THEN STATED. I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK SO I CAN DO MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING SOMEWHERE ELSE. I WAS ON A SITE THAT WAS CALLED COMPLAINTS BOARD AND A LOT OF THE PEOPLE HAD GOOD IDEAS. LIKE TRY CALLING THE POLICE AND THE BBB. CONTACTING THE FCC IS AN IDEA TOO. I FOUND THE LINK ON EBAY AN I THINK SOMEONE SHOULD TELL THEM TO REMOVE THEM FROM THEIR SITE. I JUST HOPE THAT PEOPLE WILL READ THIS AND ALL THAT IS OUT THERE ABOUT THESE SITES BEFORE ORDERING.

I ordered a DVD collection of the Mary Tyler Moore series on November 22 and have yet to receive anything. I tried contacting the company by phone and Email several times, but they have not responded. I think this company is a scam. I am currently disputing the credit card charge which, by the way, is $8.00 more than what was printed on the receipt.
After doing a bit of research, I learned that all the seasons are not officially available through FOX(the distributor), which leads me to believe that they are homemade pirated versions as some other bloggers have noted.
Do yourself a favor. DON'T PURCHASE ANY PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY!

I purchased a Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew DVD last July 2007.  I have had so many excuses about a DVD that has been at least 8 months on backorder.  I have never received item just emails of excuses.  A month ago I received an email stating to let them know if I wanted a refund.  I replied yes, but have never to date received the refund.  Today I received and email saying that it is on backorder and when the item comes in they will take the payment.  What payment I have already paid for this item why would I want to pay twice??  Can someone help me with advice on how to stop this and get my refund.  The company must be thick, I have since email many time stating that I want a refund.

    Michael - Hope this helps.
This is crap, i was just about to buy a dvd box set over $130 from tvaddicts.tv and noticed that this website and dvdavenue.com have the exact same layout. so i went sniffing and found numerous accounts of scams and rip offs. DO NOT purchase from these guys, they sell copied BAD quality dvds and thats if you receive them at all i heard of a case that a guy had purchased a box set with 25+ dvds and only ONE of those 25+ dvd worked. not only that the ONE that did work was horrible quality and kept on stopping. The boxes and box art on them is totally bogus. Clearly copyright. Theres such a big uprage  about dvd piracy and what are the American "Law Enforcers" doing about it?? NOTHING. Find these [***] and bring them down! i am guessing they have ripped off about $40000+ of Americans money!

Unite to bring these [***] down.

Ps. Contact your bank about this and you should get your money back. They can take YOUR money BACK OUT of those [***] accounts. Tell them that the websites that you bought the dvds off are frauds.

I ordered the Whirlybirds set they advertized all 111 episodes. I received 36 and have tried to get the rest from these people for the past 8 months. I have made 4 phone calls and sent 16 e-mails and have been promised my order every two weeks for the past 8 months. I just looked at their websites and there is no longer any telephone numbes or e-mail addresses. No way to contact these people other than to place an order!!!!

They are real scammers do not deal with these people.

I ordered 1 DVD from tvaddicts.com on 1/14/08 with a debit card.  Shipping cost almost more than the dvd, so I googled the site.  All of complaints were there.  I immediately e-mailed them cancelling the order.  I got no response.  I phoned them at 1-877-7tvshow and was put on hold and no one answered he call.  I chalked it up to experience, but today I find that my credit card number is being used by a www.j2.com AKA www.efax.com, both sites I had never visited before today.  I called J2 number on my bank statement and was put on hold and got much the same response as with tvaddicts.com.  My bank told me to file a police report before they cold consider returning my money.  Tvaddicts.com either sold my acc. info or J2.com is another of the many names they use. I have reported to police and believe internet detectives and U.S. investigators are now involved since 2 of the charges do not have a code for a U.S. state.  One of the charges is for conversion of currency.  I cancelled the card.  I ordered the DVD from BestBuy cheaper and quickly.  Just make sure you use the www.bestbuy.com site.  Good luck to all., Mary

I want to thank all of you for the alerts.  I was seriously considering purchasing "Kojak Seasons 1-5" from this site. I also noticed that the other sites that you have listed also offered the same series. Another website that is so smiliar I would bet its related to the same scammers [allmyfavoriteshows.com]. Again thank you!! you saved me $149+ and I did't go through the problems all have had!!

THANKS YOU GUYS FOR YOUR COMPLAINTS BECAUSE I WAS ABOUT TO PURCHASE 90210, SEASONS 5 AND UP BECAUSE THOSE SEASONS ARE NOT YET IN STORES. I THOUGHT THE DVDS COVERS LOOKED REALLY ODD...CHEAP...AND THEY DO NOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH SHIPPING IS WHEN YOU CLICK ON THE SHIPPING ICON...SO I RESEARCHED THE SITE AND FOUND NOTHING BUT RIP-OFFS AND FRAUD. THANKS A BUNCH. HOPEFULLY OTHERS WILL SEE THE LONG LIST OF COMPLAINTS AND BOYCOTT THIS FRAUD OF A COMPANY!!!!

I also purchased from UltimateDVDshop and found a LONG waiting time although not as long as some of you.  FINALLY today I received the first one of my order only to find out its recorded from ABCfamily TV station.  While a bootleg true it is pretty good quality but NOT in order and not sure if its complete.

Also I do have a working number but they seem to be a service (I think) since they talk like they are simply handling their customer support.  They said they'd notify the above site with my request but IF they did the Site has ignored it.  OH the number if anyone wants it is 1-800-787-1219  Not sure how much good it will do but there it is anyway.

They are in Canada so WHY doesn't the Canadian Gov do anything about them?

I think maybe the way to go is to report them to the MPAA (much like the RIAA) and let them try to get them shut down since it seems both our governments won't, and they (MPAA) are the ones loosing money from these ripoff artists and have a more vested interest in seeing them shut down rather then going after the 15 year old kid downloading songs off the internet.

And these companies (fox etc) have offices in both countries and would stand a better chance of getting some action (ie. high priced lawyers) more so then us induviduals trying it.

I have an update.  As I said in another post maybe the way to go is the MPAA.  Here is the Canadian office we should contact.

    Toronto M4T 2S4

These evil people never sent my DVD's I ordered at Christmas and now they are trying to pull money out of my bank account, because I used my debit card. I have the FBI and the RCM looking hard at them...please contact your local TV stations and police and FBI on these crooks.

Wish I would have seen this website first. :( Yup, two friends and I chipped in to purchase the Becker series on DVD for a friend's birthday, paid $80 with shipping. It arrived on time, our buddy was happy and so were we...until he reported one of the DVDs was blank and the other two were pirated. And, as of today, the websites (DVDAvenue, TVAddicts) are offline again. Our birthday friend thinks it's hilarious - us, not so much.
