The company PeakLife offers a fourteen day trial offer for a natural sleep aid product called Somnapure. They pretend to need your credit card only for postage of the free product. Little do you know that they are putting you on a subscription and will be charging you $74.98 a month for the product that they keep sending you. What's even more disturbing is that they seem to be in alliance with GNC, which is a major Vitamin and health products company. Be wary of these guys. DO NOT get taken by their free trial offers. They are deceitful and highly mercenary. I had to close my credit card account in order to get off their subscription.

Very deceptive website.  They post terms at the bottom of the webpage in silver font on white background that unless you look at the right angle you can not see.  These terms tell you they will automatically send you a 30 day supply at $69.99 plus $4.99 S&H every month unless you call within 14 days to cancel.  Deliberate action by this company to mislead the consumer is my impression and any compant that does this is not to be trusted.  (P.S. My wife tried the "free" samples and found they did not work for her.)

I wasalso a victim of this scam.  I was billed $74.98 and still have not received any of their product except the supposedly "free sample"..   This is a very deceptive way of getting your credit card number.  I highly recommend you pass on this one.

I WAS ALSO TAKEN ON A SCAM FOR ORDING THIS PRODUCT, I DIDN'T KNOW THAT YOU WOULD BE CHARGED. I AM GOING TO CONTACT THE BBB TO FILE A COMPLAINT ON THEM FOR SCAMMING YOU FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD. DON'T FALL THIS LIE FOR A FREE BOTTLE.

Me too...I fell for the "scam" I looked carefully before ordering my trial offer, as I have been suckered into the Auto ship B.S.before! I just saw my credit card has been charged $34.98. I have tried calling the number attached to the debit card charge, without even a dial tone. Thanks to many of you I have additional numbers to try...I will call the bank in the morning and tell them to stop any charges from this company! I haven't received another package from them since my $2.99 trial offer. I will call them tomorrow and complain and get a return authorization and send the package back when it arrives..The EXACT pills from the same company sell at Walmart for $11.99! This is a pure and simple rip off!!!

Got product off of TV infomercial Not realizing -of course-that would automatically receive a bottle almost immediately with obligatory 74.98 and shipping and handling. I'm unemployed and need every penney and sleep but al ingredients can be purchased for 5-10 dollars at any big store pharmacy even dollar stores ! certainly hope I don't have to switch bank accounts to prevent these extraordinary charges.

BBB is a toothless private organization. It is not a government agency. It can't do a thing. This company is probably not a member anyway so BBB has no sway over it. Also, BBB is fairly lame. Business pay dues to get membership and their seal of approval so BBB is loath to reprimand a paying client. Contact the FTC or your local DA or your state Attorney General.

    Later!

Thank you all for posting your experiences. I have been scammed like this before and now I will NEVER order any product before checking if there are any complaints.

Shame on AOL for running full spread on thier opening page! Completed my FREE trial order and all info below the credit card section was totally blurred so you couldn't read it. Came on web only to find many many complaints. Called Somnapure (since they conviently have no email address) to cancell an order, was told they would cancell and send an email within 15 min. Now been hours and no email and 5 entries were made to my debit card!!!! Bank now handling it and shut down card THANX to sites like this I was minimally damaged. When is Gooogle and the rest gonna stop allowing these type companies to freely and openly operate???

I  can only affirm the  preceeding complaints.  This is a scam.  My credit card waas used illegally.  I  will not pay for aa product that I did not order and do not want.  This is unsolicited and I will not be bilked.  I demand a full refund of the $74.98 charged to my credit card.  In fact I will return any other items sent and I WILL cancel this credit card as soon as  possibel to avoid being  illegally charged.

This is just a scam designed to get your credit card information.

When I called to cancel, after they sent me the $75 bottle w/o my ordering it, the customer rep was defensive with me and I could tell he gets complaints all day.

They need to be put out of business!

I'm glad I read your comments before placing an order.  I'd be better off getting Pain Relief PM which also contains Diphenhydramine HCI 25 mg for $1 in Dollar Days store.  Diphenhydramine is a common ingredient in popular cold remedies like Nyquil PM or pain killer tablets. I take between 2 - 4 tablets per night.  With 24 tablets for $1, it will last me 6 - 12 nights which I still consider a bargain!

Yep, its a scam.  They ask for your credit card to pay for shipping and then start sending you monthly doses for about $74.98  I cancelled as soon as the charge showed up on my (online)credit card.  They still sent me a month's supply.  I don't know if they will really cancel.  I don't have much hope, but will call my credit card company.

For all of you complaining about being scammed and not knowing about the residual billing, it clearly  states it in the "terms and conditions". It also stipulates that you will be sent your first order AFTER the 18th day.

So if you had cancelled within the 14 day trial period you would not have been been billed $74.98.

EITHER   YOU  WORK FOR THESE JERKS OR HAVEN'T YET BEEN SCAMMED YOURSELF. MOST PEOPLE HAVE WORKED HARD FOR THEIR MONEY AND DO NOT DESERVE TO BE CHEATED OUT OF IT.
