Rudest creditor I have ever dealt with!

I received a letter from this company, MCM on May 19th, 2007 on behalf of the Aspire credit card company about a debt. On may 21st, 2007 at approximately 8:35 a.m. Arizona time I called in to respond to the letter.

The person I spoke with was so rude, that I did not get his name because he actually hung up on me. I tried to explain to him that I had settled this account on April 12th, 2007 and that if he would like I could send him over, meaning fax, the original settlement letter, the letter from the creditor showing that this account was paid, and the bank statement, if they needed a copy of that as well.

This guy did not even try and talk to me; he was the rudest creditor I have ever dealt with. I know that nothing will be done about it and another person will have to endure his brutal behavior but I have written all three credit-reporting agencies about how MCM conducts their business when it comes to trying to collect a debt. I am going to search to see if there is a complaint line against the aspire credit card company, and if there is not one I will be starting one.

I admit that I have not been the best creditor in the past but I have fixed my debt with aspire, and for someone to act the way they did in order to try and collect a debt, you must have a load of delinquent accounts in your desk because if I had not settled this debt prior to dealing with this individual. I would have shredded your letter, and said the hell with you.

I do collections and if I ever talked to a client the way I was talked to. I would not expect one dollar from this individual, bottom line if your in collections, and you have someone trying to explain to you that they have settled the account, or if someone is calling to resolve a debt. YOU LISTEN! And you do not HANG UP! On the person because whether or not they have fallen behind in their debt or are current, they are still a CLIENT!!

    Just and FYI- If you are in a collection status with MCM and it is due to a divorce and a judge has signed off on the decree, it suppercedes any collection status you may have. For instance, someone I know went into collections with Ford Motor Credit Company after they were divorced. The divorce decree states that they are obligated to pay half of what the debt was. The ex is to pay the other half. Due to her not obiding by the divorce decree, MCM says that the other was obligated to pay it. He sent the copy of the divorce decree and even spoke to a lawyer. The lawyer stated that the decree supercedes any other contract. Not to mention the initial contract was with Ford, not the previous collection agency before MCM or MCM who now holds the account. This person is not obligated to pay anything other than what the divorce decree says. We have sent the copy of the decree along with the information to get a hold of the other debtor. MCM used scare tactics such as "we can sue you, it will show a negative impact on your credit report." As soon as we gave them the information and told them to go ahead and sue us for the others debt." We also told them that what they are doing is harrasment and we can in turn file a complaint. We have not heard anything from them, thus so far. I recommend that you check with a local attorney and see what your rights are.

    recieved countless call fom this company for people that i do not know and at first their number showed up as an 800,then 888,and after telling them to stop,the "unknown" started showing on caller id;twice I have spoken with supervisors whom assured me it would stop,but it hasnt-the next time i'm on business that way,i'll pay a visit and file a police report for harassment.btw the "stupidvisor's nane was "dennis parker"

    I have no idea how they got my number, but they continue to call and harass me about a debt run up by my sister. When I explain that she died a year ago (tragically, heart attack at 51) it means nothing to them. They continue to demand payment . As everyone else has said, they are, rude, abusive and contemptuous.  Peter Green was the worst…and they sound like they are calling from a call center outside the US, so it’s sometimes also impossible to make out exactly what they are saying.     This is ridiculous.  I got a call today asking for a Paul, my husbands name.  Then I asked what for, and then they asked me who I was, said his wife.  Then they gave the last name, which isn't ours. The guy was rude and said I was contradicting my statements, I said not really, you asked for Paul which happens to be my husband's name, but the last name you used is not ours.  When I called back to talk to someone else, I had to go online to get the number, they said the number was removed, we will see.  When I asked how they got the number, they said they have a 3rd party that does that for them.  I said interesting, so you are just a stupid puppet that knows nothing, amazing, and yet you hold a job.  I hope they don't start calling all the time, we don't need this sh** in our lives right now.

    I hate this stupid company. The people are rude as hell. They never let you speak to a supervisor. I am contacted the BBB on them. I have settled my account for Aspire Visa, but have had three different stories of when I will recieve my settlement letter. IF anybody has any suggestions on how to get them deleted from my credit report please advise!

    I like it when they call, because I like to mess with them.  I suppose asking them what color their underwear is, and weird stuff about their lives gets me laughing at what would normally be a boring day!  But, to get rid of them.  Just get a real loud air horn, or whistle.  It will knock their socks off!  Ask them if they are pregnant, and when they say, "no why?"  Ask them if they want to be.  LOL!

    there should be a way to stop these nasty people, they call several times a day , and is rude and obnoxious . I reported them to the do not call regstry, any comments on who else they can be reported to.

    I can top ALL that.   I dont owe any money to anyone.  These people got my phone number and call me 10 to 15 times a day. Asking for someone I dont know. I have asked to speak with a supervisor and that is NEVER done.

    The best part is some guy with an accent from india (or somewhere) tells me to speak English. WTF.  This dumb A$$ calls my house, speaking some broken English, demanding to speak to someone I dont know, and them talks down to me. If I lived closer to Calf I would go to there office in person.

    Time to get a lawyer and see them in court. THEY HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE

    I agree with all the complaints I have read concerning mcm. They are trying to collect money from me that actually is money I need to collect from VERIZON , since they were paid for services not provided. For the last several years I get one of similar scam companies trying to get money. They do not bother to check the history of the case. I guess they hope that one year I'll be old enough to forget and get intimidated. They are scum bags.

    i am thinking of starting a class action lawsuit... anyone in to actually signing (just ur name LOL)something legal or even maybe doing a recorded testimonial... they single handedly ruined my 20 month old daughter's credit... I think we have time to fix it... but y should i have to go thru the hoops they r holding?.... i know my rights.

    i also have been dealing with them and whats so funny they call me almost everyday and i tell them, if you want me to pay you nedd to send me a letter in writing. as always they call me and say you never responded and i have to tell them well i just spoke with you guys yesterday . well they called me again and this time im pissed off so i said hey let me talk and you listen to me. stop calling me  and stop harrassing me. if you want me to make a payment heres my address for the 100 th time and send me a bill. i will pay you guys 20.00 a month thats it. if you dont like it them good luck getting any money from me. he said okay. so i guess ill see if that worked.and by the way i cant even understand a word he said he speaks indian

    this low life calls me on a sunday at my house during dinner and says hey blah blah blah I said who is this he said a friend, but yet the number is unavailable I then find out who it is it was this slime bag harassing me about a bill or account that I never even had a word to the wise for everyone call your lawyer or a lawyer, they are harassing people they should be sent to bbb and dept of state to be investigated for harassing people and slime ball acts

    How to get them to stop calling. Register at the National Do No Call Registry. https://www.donotcall.gov/

    When they call tell them to put you on their "Do Not Call List" If they call again file a complaint at https://www.donotcall.gov/

    You can also use Verizon Call Trace *57, charges apply. See http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/Phon ... swers/96525.htm  then you file a police complaint and verizon complaint.

    Stick it to them. They are calling me hourly about my in-laws. Not my bills not my problem! Yet they harass me.

    Dear friends, and enemies of the [***] known as M.C.M. Good news. I just finished successfully settling with these maggots. They will fold. Now granted their Attorney motioned successfully to remove my filing to Federal Court from Small Claims, but If you stand firm, M.C.M. knows this will cost them a great deal more money than they could ever hope to justify to their stock holders or hope to recover from you. Bottom line: They agreed the debt was paid in full  (even though they really didn't believe that) and agreed to remove the notation from the credit reporting agencies completely.  The F.D.C.P.A. really works!

    I just got off the phone with these people telling them not to call my cell phone on their auto dialer and they refused to remove my number without a payment arrangement... last time I checked that is an illegal collection practice. this place really needs to shape up,when they don't care about leaving me 5 minute dead-air  voice mail messages and never EVER leave a number for me to call them back at no wonder they are such [***] on the phone. Maybe if they showed the people they are contacting a little respect they would get more payments. I would rather file chap 7 then pay such a disrespectful 3rd party debt company a penny to stay in business.

      It is a violation of FDCPA to make repeated calls (or repeatedly cause a phone to ring) for purposes of harassment.

      Repeatedly filling up your voicemail with blank silence would appear to be such harassment.

      Contact a consumer attorney.  You can find one in your state through www.naca.net

    this company keeps calling the house always says unknown on caller id . And its Sunday and as far as I know it is illeagal to make calls like this on Sundays in Maine. They refuse to say what they want other then to talk to my husband. I work for a call caenter and we would never get away with being so rude.How can I get them to stop.Guess if they do not stop I just might start calling them about 15 to 20 times a day and mess with there call time . See how they like it. I will not give any personal info to them for I think they might be crooks. Idenity theft! yikes
