bad internet shopping experience

I am an avid internet shopper. I ordered running shoes from ZBsports.com (AKA Zanzabarbazaar.com) in August. The shoes came but did not fit. I returned them, but the package was "rejected" and ended up back at my door.

I checked their website and it instructed me to call for approval of my return. Shame on me for not checking first, so I called the number a few times with no answer. I finally left a voicemail which was returned that night. I was given my RA number and resent the shoes back to the Philadelphia address. Both times they were sent first class with Delivery Confirmation.

The return was not accepted and the box was returned yet again to me. This is my first bad internet shopping experience.

I caution anyone using this website.

    Good mission.  Sure.  Here's the catch...  

    I may be a bad dancer, but two left sneakers won't do me any good.  Return them you say?  Check.  New pair on the way?  You got it.  However, just got two right sneakers in the mail.  The joke is no longer funny.  In theory, a left is en route.  We shall see.  I want to support companies that support good causes...but I also expect some reliability.  Now the e-mails and voicemails are going unanswered...what is happening down there?

    Where do I get in line? Ordered a pr. of keen's,rec'd. wrong color. Shipped back with RA# and still waiting for replacement sandals. Numerous emails, phone calls,snail mail,etc.(all unanswered)Still no sandals, will be 2 months next week since original order placed.
    Guess I've been lucky in the past with ordering online with other sources. NEVER AGAIN with this company.

    Follow up to last message. Called the local number for Zanzabar Bazaar (ZBsports)and continue to get the recorded message(same one as the 800-780-2515#) that I've called outside normal business hours or their with suckers,excuse me fools like myself and will call me back(has yet to happen going back to orig. order in June.

    do not place any orders, for anything from this company.  i've waited thirty seven days to get an order socks.  they are simply terrible at customer service.  several email requests for help went unanswered, and when they did answer, they said it would take 10-14 business days for my order.  it had already been seventeen business days when they sent that response. worst experience ever in ordering on the internet and i've spent thousands $$$ online over the past few years.

    I ordered two pairs of shoes from ZB 10 days ago and they just send me the UPS traking number and it will take another 7 days to get the package. I have ordered similar item from Shoptrailblazer and it arrived in 3 days and free shipping.  I am not very happy with this company.

    So, I guess I'm not alone in my dissatifaction with ZB sports.  I'm still in the middle of exchanging a pair of shoes that were too big, and the whole process has already taken about 3 weeks.  Should have gotten them from Zappos!  Too bad their charities have to suffer because of their bad business practices.

    Oh my, guess I just got scammed also.  They will not answer their phone.  Emails come back and they owe my $58.50.  I don't know what to do next.

    I have tried to order a pair of brooks mems running shoes twice, but this web site will not let order, I am not sure what the problem is, maybe I am not smart enough to handle this site! So I will try calling and see what I have done wrong, maybe I have 3 pair shoes ordered and do not know it!The shoes I tried to order are: brooks mem's addiction 8 wht/whtparl/marblu/tarn/blk - 141 12.5 d.

    It's been over a week since I ordered a pair of Saucony shoes and my order still says "processing". After reading all the reviews here, I am getting nervous. The 800-number listed now says it's been disconnected, but I finally received someone at another number I found who said it should be shipping soon. I hope this ends well. I've never experienced such poor customer service from an online retailer. Very disappointed so far.

    i am glad i am not the only one who is irritated by zb sports.  the internet is the only way i shop these days and will buy from just about anywhere but this has to be just about the WORST site!!  they dont return phone calls and it takes forever to get the items!  WILL NOT BY ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN!

    ordered a pair of new sneakers, money taken out of my account and then put back in - after seeing all the complaints about the company, I called the bank and now am blocking any transactions from ZBSports. Do not know why the company is even in business, they can not complete orders and or process correct orders and then they use the guise of "helping charities etc" it's a rip off.  They need to be shut down.

    I guess everyone should see how much these guys are scammers. Their is no other excuse. I am glad I did a quick search before ordering from them.

    Like everyone else I mistakenly trusted a company who sold the Brooks Beast cheaper than everyone else. Ordered them 12/3 in hopes of getting before 12/18 when i leave for a trip. Took 11 days to process and ship. It will not arrive until after I leave. Sent several emails and got the brush off on each one. I will never do business with them again and have let them know as much. I urge everyone else to write a nasty email to them as well. They Suck.

    Fortunately i didn't get far. i had to call and ask when item will be shipped. took days to respond and then when they did they told me the item wasn't in stock. before confirming order i asked when the other item would be shipped. never responded. very glad i never went thru with the order.
    13 dollar savings is not worth the anticipated headache.

    Hello my name is James and I am the owner of Zbsports.  I was very concerned when I saw these postings on complaintwire.org and feel it necessary to post a response.  There are quite a few complaints here.  Thus far we have catered to over 130,000 online customers in the past 5 years of doing business. Based on the level of complaints here, we currently maintain a 99.99969% non-complaint satisfaction rate, however, to me this is not 100%, and not good enough.  The problem that I personally find with such a site is that it is only based on negativity, which by itself can produce nothing positive.  When you shop with Zbsports, you shop with a small company of human beings who can and will admittedly make mistakes.  Because we are not an enormous corporation, shipping and processing times can vary and may take longer.  We do however make great efforts to delineate shipping times within each product line item, where it states that it will take anywhere from 1-6 business days for the product to be available to ship from our warehouse.  Still, inventory and processing errors will unfortunately occur.  When you call our company, and if you get the voicemail, please do not forget to leave a message and include your return contact information, this is often forgotten in haste.  Customer service will get back to you within 24 non-weekend business hours, and sometimes but rarely within 48 hours if call traffic is extremely heavy.  If you have contacted customer service, allowed ample time for a return call or email and you are still upset with your shopping experience; rather than posting negative blogs on this site, I invite you to contact me direct at james@zbsports.com.  I will do everything possible within reasonable measures to try and better your experience.  I will not be able to comp your order as we have employees and bills to pay, however, I will consider any reasonable request, being that we were truly at fault, in hopes of making you a satisfied customer.       Have ordered at least 10 pairs of Keen items from ZB and all have been delivered in decent time. Have never had to use customer support so I cannot comment on that.
