bad internet shopping experience

I am an avid internet shopper. I ordered running shoes from ZBsports.com (AKA Zanzabarbazaar.com) in August. The shoes came but did not fit. I returned them, but the package was "rejected" and ended up back at my door.

I checked their website and it instructed me to call for approval of my return. Shame on me for not checking first, so I called the number a few times with no answer. I finally left a voicemail which was returned that night. I was given my RA number and resent the shoes back to the Philadelphia address. Both times they were sent first class with Delivery Confirmation.

The return was not accepted and the box was returned yet again to me. This is my first bad internet shopping experience.

I caution anyone using this website.

    DOes anyone know zbsports true customer service number. the number listed on their website is a fax number ive been trying to call for two days, Im getting concerned this company is bogus. I cant even check on the status of my order cause  my email address never registered when i placed  a order with this company. Thank you if you know how i can reach someone.

    This isn't about ZB sports but about Keen shoes.  Briggs style as a matter of fact.  Comfortable YES!  but they squeek terriblly.  any way to get it to stop?  they are 3 months old and I thought they would simmer down...

    I've been getting my runing shoes from ZBSports for years. I've never had a problem. I always get what I order with usually 10-15% off and free shipping. I've never been able to find any web site with a cheeper price. Yes, shipping takes a little longer than I'd like but it's worth it to get the great price.

    Hello James,my name is Gary,i ran on to this site by looking on Google seach for ZBSPORTS.My concerns are that i processed my return on 7-2-2010 I am needing to exchange a pair of Smith Shelter glasses that i ordered in the wrong color.After reading all the negative feed back, make one a little concerned!Iam always a positive on line shopper,thus unfortunately the 5 to 20 business days for a store credit,nobody get that.because i need the exchange to be a little faster then that.So please can you process my order just a small faction faster then that.So i can put a great positive statement on this site that reads [I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY],That most only find the negitive things in life.  Thanks gary

    The price of some shoes on ZBsports are little better than other sites, but the shipping is horrible. It takes 3 weeks to deliver a pair of shoes normally. Recently I tried to order several pairs of shoes shipping to different locations, but they would not let me do it. The first order must be shipped before I can order the second pair of shoes. It has been 3 weeks the first pair of shoes has not been shipped. I went to other sites like Planetshoes and ShopTrailblast for other shoes. These two sites provided free shipping and I got them in 3 days. Meanwhile, I am still waiting for the first pair of
    shoes. The shoes I originally wanted to buy from ZB are running out of size I wanted. my experience tells me that one needs to order shoes one season early. If you try to give to your friends as birthday present please don't expect them arrive on time. It is very embarrasing to tell my cousin I have purchased a pair of shoes for her and she is still waiting.

    Given many of the posts on this site, I felt compelled to tell my experience of ZBSports.

    I recently ordered a pair of Keen sandals from ZBSports and it took me 10 days to receive them (the reason why was clearly spelled out on the website)and lo and behold there was a manufacturing defect on one of the sandals.

    I contacted James (one of the owners) via email and had a response within 4 hours and within 18 hours I am well on the path to resolving the issue with the Keens. Not only did I have follow-up with email, I talked with a live person this morning who PROACTIVELY called me!

    This seems to be a growing trend amongst small Internet retailers who understand that porr customer service is the kiss of death to a successful business.

    The key to making this work is being flexible. If you have your mind set on a specific product and nothing else will do or you need instant gratification, go to your local outdoor store who may have greater buying power and the ablity for you to wear the product out the door.

    As for me, this experience will most likely garner them my business for years to come!

    While it's easy to complain you have a bad experience telling the world to stay away, it's sometimes more difficult to acknowledge good service received!

    Thank you for letting me know i was in the process of ordering Mizuno shoes but after reading all the complaints i am scared to order anything from this zb sports.

    i ordered shoes from them and received them 2 weeks after i ordered, and then when the package finally got there, i had one left shoe, size 6. 5 and another left shoe, size 8.5. i just emailed them to get my shipping label to send them back, and haven't heard back. needless to say, the company is obviously a scam. do not order anything from them. i'm going to contact my credit card company and see if i can have the charge taken off.

    I just ordered some shoes from them, and since I didn't see any options for express shipping I sent them an email asking if I could upgrade my shipping, explaining that I would gladly take on the extra charge.  Within 30 minutes I got a response telling me that they now used 3 day shipping standard and I should be getting my shoes in 3 days.  I closed that email and the next one was shipping notice with the USPS tracking number.  All of this occurred in about half an hour, so I would say these guys are on top of their game in my experience.

    I am trying to trace USPS #9101010521297860919179.  When I paste on their site, No number is found.  I also thought the Keen sandels were in stock when ordered. I'm ewaiting two weeks on an order that I should get in 3-4 days.  My order # is 152687.  Where are my shoes?

    I placed an order before reading these comments and cringed at the thought that I, too, would encounter a bad experience.  I'm thrilled to report that the entire process was seamless AND the delivery of merchandise was efficient.

    I would definitely order from ZBsports again AND encourage others to give them a try.

    What I like in men, what I appreciate and what I think is a real value is keeping his word.
    If the company says ," let us 24 hours to beat a competitor's price and return to you with the final answer" then I do expect something ( positive or negative) from the company inside provided time frame. James, 48 hours passed away an I have not got any responses from your end regarding my feature purchase from your company. That is not good. I'll see what happened next 48 hours.

    I have made 3-4 purchases from ZBsports over the past 3 years during which I've had to make one return. My latest order was made just this month. In this order I sent an e-mail as per their directions and had an item deleted that same day. I received a prompt reply the next day notifying me the change was made and received half my order within the week. Am hoping to get the other half any day now. So far I have had no problems with the company. All my transactions have gone smoothly and though their return policies are rather strict (you need to thoroughly read their policies) I do appreciate the reasonable shipping charges.

    I don't know why I continue to order from these guys. If you want to order something and are 100% sure you don't need to return it- PLUS you are in NO hurry, then I say go for it (5 times out of 10 you'll get it within 2 weeks). My mistake for ordering a pair of Chacos that I needed to return. And double shame on me for no longer having the original credit card I initially used to place the order. The order was placed on Jan. 4th. It is now Feb. 16th and there is NO refund (they said they would mail me a refund check which takes a couple of weeks). SIGH. I even called on Monday just begging them to give me a store credit- ANYTHING. I have not heard from them. I'm such a fool for continuing to order from them. This is the last time, I swear! So frustrating- especially since most online retailers communicate with their customers and ship in a timely fashion. There is also a lot of "twisting" of the truth. If you order something that says "ships within 1-2 days" that means they theoretically have it in "their warehouse." But beware of things that say "ships within 3-5 business days." That means they have to drop ship it directly from the manufacturer- which means a minimum of two weeks until you see your order. Once you do finally get in touch with them, they are very nice. But I can't continue like this. I can't recommend them.

    ZBSports "claims" they will match any price. When I directed them to the Peter Glenn site, which by the way is a very reasonable & reputable company, for the same item with a lower price, they refused to honor their claimed "policy" and said that the price match would be unprofitable for them. In addition, they claim that 3% of their income goes toward donating for charitable causes and they certainly make a BIG DEAL about 3% but in reality all businesses donate towards charitable causes due to a direct "write-off" on their tax return. ZBSports does not honor a price match as they claim on their website. Who knows if they even contribute to charitable causes. Take note, IRS!  ZBSports on all accounts is a DIS-REPUTABLE, DIS-HONEST company and anything they claim on their website or otherwise is not to be trusted in any way. Just because only 1% of their customers complain on this website doesn't mean they have only 1% dis-satisfied customers. It just means that the rest of the dis-satisfied customers don't want to waste any more of their time and money with ZBSPORTS.

    Yeah, go ahead and encourage other people to get ripped-off by ZBSports.  It's not your money!
