So far, this is the second call from this company within a week.  The call tonight came in at 8:04 pm
Caller ID says "Lester, Inc." and the phone number is 606-833-0105. When my answering machine picked up, the caller hung up - same as last time.

I am on the Do Not call list.

    This is the message I just sent Lester, Inc.  "Your company has called my house every night for the past two weeks.  The first night my husband said he wasn't interested and after that we did not answer the phone.  This weekend we were away and got a message that was hard to understand that said, "Car crash. . . . whiplash".  This was very unsettling when we called home for messages.  When I got home and realized it was Lester, Inc. again, I was very angry.  I have no idea what the message meant.  I don't know if someone carelessly didn't realize my answering machine had picked up and recorded their conversation with a co-worker.  But to get a message like that, when we were 4 hours from home, was upsetting to say the least.  Of course, tonight, I got another call.  Leave us alone.  Remove my number from your call list immediately."

    Lester incorporated is certainly not a scam operation. My mom works there. They give out free trade publications to businesses and private people. She has worked there for fifteen years and says it is the best place she ever worked. I am so sorry for your bad experience with them.

      Then how come they call me EVERY day w harrasing calls,
      when I asked them to stop, and also I also placed my # on
      do not call list???? Next step, I am going to my brother who
      works for FBI to see if he can help me!!!

    THEY WORK FOR MANY DIFFERENT SCHOOLS, THEY ARE ON THE UP AND UP FOR SURE, I WORK THERE. THAT IS THE EVENING WORK THOUGH. IT IS CALLED SPECIALTY FUND RAISING. MANY SCHOOLS EMPLOY THEM. DAYTIME WORK IS OFFERING FREE TRADE PUBLICATIONS. THEY ALSO OFFER PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS TO WELL KNOWN MAGAZINES. YOU WILL NEVER BE SENT A BILL UNLESS THEY SPEFICALLY TELL YOU IT IS A PAID SUBSCRIPTION. EVERYTHING IS RECORDED AND WE ARE AUDITED FREQUENTLY FOR QUALITY CONTROL.ALSO OUR CALLERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE MESSAGES.KENTUCKY IS ALSO WHERE OUR SISTER COMPANY IS.     ACTUALLY, IT IS AN AUTOMATED SYSTEM, THEY DO NOT PUT YOU ON SPEAKER PHONE THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST DOING THERE JOB.THE BACKGROUND NOISE IS BECAUSE WE HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE WORKING THERE THAT THE NOISE IS INEVITABLE. IM SORRY YOU FEEL SO INCLINED TO BASH A COMPANY YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. MY MOM HAS WORKED THERE FOR FIFTEEN YEARS, AND THIS WOULD BREAK HER HEART.

      Are you [***] DUMB what they are doing IS ILLEGAL, thanks for posting on the forums. You just let everyone know that they are infact doing illegal practices by calling DNC numbers.

    The number that they call me on is on the national do not call list.  The next time they call I will report the call.  I understand that the fine is fairly heavy.

    What good is calling at night and not even leaving a recorded message?  If this is an  up-and-up company, they are doing themselves a great disservice by arbitrarily placing computerized calls to no-one in particular.  We get enough "junk" calls as it is - we don't need any more.

    My phone is formy convenience ....not Lester, Inc's.  If they are such a wonderful company as some responses suggest.....then please explain why they fail to honor the DO NOT CALL registry

    Then how do we get them to quit calling.  They now call me 2 or3 times a day!

    DNC has exceptions
    The Do Not Call law is great, but there are exceptions to it.  For example, solicitations for charities or educational institutions are not prohibited by the DNC.  Telemarketers are also allowed to call consumers on the Do Not Call if they have an "existing business relationship" with the company or consumers who have signed up to receive information, etc.

    The good news is that this law also requires telemarketers to honor a request to place you on their internal no call list - even if the call itself would be legal.  So my suggestion is to answer your phone and politely ask to be put on their internal no call.  If they continue to call, then file a complaint with the FTC (you can even do this online).  The FTC pays attention to these types of complaints.

    Hope that helps.  I know repeated calls are annoying.

    These ^&* people called me before and I let my answering machine screen the call.  No message.  Today, Sunday Dec 7,2008 they had the audacity to call ...SUNDAY???  This is nasty and insulting.  I don't care whose mother works there.  They should all go to HE11 for bothering me on a SUNDAY
