So far, this is the second call from this company within a week.  The call tonight came in at 8:04 pm
Caller ID says "Lester, Inc." and the phone number is 606-833-0105. When my answering machine picked up, the caller hung up - same as last time.

I am on the Do Not call list.

I've received several calls at various hours of the day and night for weeks (including again this morning) from Lester, Inc., Phone: 1-606-833-0105. Every time I answer the caller (or computer) hangs-up. I'm now planning to file a harrassment complain with the FCC in which I will also reference all these posts. Apparently they have little to do but harrass folks.

To Dana and anyone else defending Lester, Inc...

ANY company is a crap company if they ignore and violate the National Do Not Call Registry rules, even if your mother or Mother Theresa is working for them!  Pure and simple, no exceptions.

My mother had terminal cancer, and we were letting her do her hospice in our , and when things turned to the worst and I was deeply distressed, I got a series of Lester, Inc. calls.  Same laughing in the background.  Same things a lot of people have mentioned here.  Absolutely NO regard for what kind of situation their illegal calls might be invading.

I am disabled and on a fixed income and got on the DNC registry because it costs nearly $11 per month extra to buy caller ID and call waiting caller ID together.  Being on the DNC worked, for a time before some morons found a way around the laws laid down by the DNC.  Thanks to the morons who run companies with questionable business practices like Lester, Inc. and many others, these calls will not stop!

There are vultures circling around the mortgage industry who make automated calls asking for you to leave them a message so then they can call you back, which they know is a low life way to try to make money without lifting a finger and not giving a crap how much of a hassle they cause for others...at least until they get caught or the shoe ends up on the other foot.

Hey Dana, heaven forbid that a Lester, Inc. call beeps in while you are talking to the 911 operator who is instructing you what to do while a loved one lays dying.

Just because your mother works for them means nothing. Did you ever think she's making it up about what a good place to work is, simply so she doesn't have to be embarrassed about what she's doing and can't afford to go find work elsewhere?

I doubt it if any person of conscience would continue to defend a company pulling the kind of stunts that Lester, Inc., pulls!

Unfortunately, there isn't any real enforcement of the DNC Registry going on because sending our children to die while trying to steal another country's resources takes precedence.  And of course, let's not forget the lobbyists for these telemarketers spend lots and lots of bucks to 'persuade' our leaders to ignore the loopholes they've found.

Some states--not many, but a few--have taken steps to make sure that automated calls, autodialers, prerecorded sales, etc., are completely illegal for telemarketers to use.  It SHOULD be illegal in all 50 states!   After all, it's MY telephone line, for MY use and MY benefit, not anyone else's.  Without an invitation, these telmarketers should have to pay a hefty fine to the government to go toward more enforcement, plus they should have to pay a fine of equal amount directly to the person whose name appears on the phone bill.

Let your state and federal representatives know that you want this to happen.  I won't be holding my breath for anything to happen soon, but one thing is for sure, if people do not respond and do nothing at all, nothing at all will happen to change this situation.

AHA!  At least Dana's repeated defense of the lowlifes at Lester, Inc. makes some sense now.  Dana's mommy is Sr. Vice President!  I imagine Joan loves the company!  She's making money from harassing people, breaking national DNC Registry rules, interfering in people's private lives UNINVITED.  Yeah, I bet she loves her company!  I can see her pride just glowing all over while doing all she can to dodge laws put in place specifically to stop companies from doing what Lester, Inc. continues to do.  What does she do in her off time?  Drown puppies?

There comes a time when we all have to be accountable for our actions.  Since your mother is large part & parcel of the problem, I hope she's one of those hit the hardest in fines for invading our lives uninvited when the solution comes around to put companies like Lester, Inc. out of business PERMANENTLY and give us back the ability to answer our phones without cringing about who might be on the other line or have to pay over $120 per year extra on our phone bills to keep track of which companies are choosing to invade our privacy in violation of the rules put down by the DNC Registry like Lester, Inc. does.

What do you think?  That a bunch of unrelated people who have better things to do with their time have come to this forum over the past year just to pick on your mother and Lester, Inc.?  Wake up little girl!  Just because mommy has a seemingly fancy job title doesn't change what she is--a leech on society.

I wouldn't be so harsh if she was just some idiot taking a minimum wage job to call people.  Nope.  Your mother is Sr. VP, so she's a policy maker, and those policies are OFFENSIVE.

Anyone looking to know where Lester, Inc. advertises, check this out:
      http://www.audiencedevelopment.com/2006/lester+inc

This info is being given so anyone bothered by Lester, Inc's calls can contact this and other websites where they go trolling for work.  That way, the people looking to hire such a company can know in advance that sooner or later (probably sooner) Lester, Inc. is going to have all those loopholes closed and will file bankruptcy because of all the fines levied on them, so anyone looking for that kind of company should really look elsewhere!

Perhaps Dana shoulda stayed out of this?  LOL

Not just one person's bad experience with Lester, Inc., Dana  It's become an ever growing list of people extending at least over the past year, full of bad experiences!  Now add in the numbers of people who haven't found this forum or who just keep ignoring the calls and suddenly it becomes  clear that Lester, Inc. is run by vultures and does not care WHO they disturb or  how badly they behave, as long as they have a chance to make a buck.

You might want to get your mom to cash in your inheritance now, at something like ten cents on the dollar, because once she's busted for ignoring the DNC registry's rules, over and over and over again, the fines she's going to be hit with won't even leave her enough for a cardboard box when she dies.  IMO, an appropriate place to end up!

we have received more than a dozen calls in the last 2 wks...but todays takes the cake. At 830 am my wife answered & told the man not to call back anymore...& at 1122 am a man called back & begged her to stay on the phone..he was calling her honey & baby & breathing hard....it was obvious that he was masterbating...she hung up & I called & spoke to Joan...we will see if this is fixed.  Hard to defend this behavior in any way!!!!

I am sorry but I do not believe anyone was calling anyone baby, honey or breathing hard. I know for a fact it is a straight laced business with recordings of both parties. It is annoying but if you don't want to be bothered- go buy your magazines for original price instead of registering for free & everyone knows that everybody is looking for free!

Thanks for having this website. Our caller ID gave the company name so when I googled it, the complaint link was third in line!

Use caller ID. If Lester Inc appears... don't answer. If you do answer they sell the time at home to advertisers as an active number.

Yes, Lester is  a problem.  They call my number in the A.M. each day.  When the answering machine picks up--they can be heard having casual conversation in the background.  This company needs to be investigated for violation of law and at the very least moral and ethical reasons.

Yup they are doing that to me too....creepy voices in the background while your answering machine answers and then they hang up. Has happened twenty times before as well. I'm also on So Not Call and renew it every few weeks.

I received a call where the caller ID indicated Lester Inc. and phone number (203)481-8212. The woman (she said her name was Christine) mentioned the UJA. Right away I figured she wanted a donation, which I don't like to do over the telephone. I indicated to her that I'm on a "do not call" list. She says her organization is exempt, having to do with their being non-profit. I told her to remove me from her phone list and I hung up the phone.

by reading these complaints  they all seem to link  to the same thought. My opinion is one person is either not happy with lester in Ky for what reason i do not know.  could be they were fired  lost their boyfriend or girlfriend to someone there or who knows what   but it seems to me the green monster hit that person in some manner  and they are trying to get even

to all of you who  blame the workers or company itself.  You cannot blame the workers for your calls. I personally work in branford and am under direction of the client.  We have no control over what each client wants accomplished.  we take direction and follow it  so please stop attacting the workers  and the company.  Do you not have direction from someone at your place of employment? If not  your probably collecting from the taxes that lester inc put into your state!

Lester Inc calls religiously on Sunday evenings, as well as weekday evenings, and sometimes in the morning. We never pickup and they never leave a message... until tonight when the Lester Inc. Representative left a Yogie Bearish type message attempting to be funny. I call Joan Marcus, Sr. VP of Lester inc. and informed her ans. machine of same, and asked her to take my number off the list. I will keep you posted as to the effectiveness of this process.

Lester is definately breaking the law as we are registered with the DNC Registry.

Thank you for this website as these calls have no reached the point of frightening my family and I will simply not allow that to continue.

Just received a call from this Lester Inc company. This is the second one in 3 days I have received. There is never a message and I have just filed a DNC complaint and about to file an FTC complaint too. Thank goodness for caller ID.

I am on the DNC list too and have started getting a couple of calls a day from Lester Inc.  Decided to Google them and found I am not the only one being bugged by them.  I thought this was illegal.  They should surely be put out of business.

Just do what they do!  Download this (http://freeworld.thc.org/thc-scan/).  Its called a wardialer.  Put in their number and set it to repeat constantly.  If they can do it why cant you?

For the number of hang ups everyone is getting (got 2 in the last 8 hrs), sounds like they get paid per call by their clients and their sales force is padding their pockets while we get harrassed. Perhaps someone out there has an expose' blog? Stick and stones may break bones but financial whips and chains are a definate turn on..GOOD HUNTING to all
