So far, this is the second call from this company within a week. The call tonight came in at 8:04 pm
Caller ID says "Lester, Inc." and the phone number is 606-833-0105. When my answering machine picked up, the caller hung up - same as last time.
I am on the Do Not call list.

The Lester company reps probably get paid for soliciting their clients by making phone calls. Because of "Do Not Call" rules, they can't actually converse. But they could provide a computer-generated log of all the tens of thousands of calls they made for their clients, to which states they were in, and that they were all answered by the recipient (even though no verbal communication took place). That's what I think is a-going on. Lester Inc. has found a way to beat the no-call rule.
In 2003, Lester, Inc. developed a strategic partnership with Enlink, located in Mumbai, India. Enlink specializes in tele-services, technical support and back-office processes. Enlink was among the first companies in India to offer Fortune 500 companies web-chat and e-mail based customer interaction services.
The strategic partnership between Lester, Inc. and Enlink culminated into a merger of the two companies with compelling benefits for Lester's customers: highly competitive pricing, new services and expanded technology. These benefits combined with Lester's proven commitment to quality and customer service, positions Lester uniquely in the industry.
Lester, Inc. now has 3 service delivery centers, located in Connecticut, Kentucky and Mumbai, India.

They are a telemarketing service representing other companies. I suggest everyone call the 800 number and flood them with do not call requests. I plan to call it every day they show up on caller ID.
I called the 800 number and informed them we were not interested in doing business with them or any company they represent and that I find their hang up calls harassing. Any further contact from their company will result in a lawsuit for harassment.
She said we will be removed from their list by the end of the day.
So long as her company keeps harassing people they will be considered scammers and a company to avoid.
After the first notification to leave you alone and they call back it is harassment. Even if the call back is for a different charity.
They are NOT allowed to make hang up calls over and over without identifying themselves.
They are also subject to the same rules - no canned messages or hang up calls. They have to have a way to opt out.
I try to contact them by email then I print it out and put it in a file. The email tells them we have no intention of doing business with them or any company they represent and we are requesting no further contact from them or anyone they represent. Further contact will be considered harassment and punishable by law.
It usually works.
Asking to be removed does nothing. They continue to call and harass people.
We don't get free magazines and We don't sign up for anything at trade shows. Yet they call our office constantly. We ask them to stop but they don't.
We are going to turn them in to the DA and press charges for harassment. @ $10K a violation it is now worth the effort.
Now every time I get a call form Lester,Inc I will call them back on their dime and play games with them for once.
When they quit calling me I will quit calling them.
