They keep calling my phone to tell me that I need to act now on my credit card.  They gave me the option to "press 1 to speak to an operator" and when I did, I asked her why they are calling my phone.  (Prepaid, btw, so it is costing me $$$$$$$).  Yikes! She just hung up on me.  Now I'm upset.

I dialed the number back and it cannot be reached.

So.... I looked up the number in 411.com, found out they are going through Hawaiin Telecom.  (Those are the next people I am calling, along with the BBB.)

For years I have been getting these calls.  I block the incoming numbers with by cable provider who is also my phone service. It works for a few days until today when I get incoming calls from a caller ID of VO515131370057 and VO5141344110098.  The call log from my provider say these numbers are actually 407-434-9999 and 407-429-9999.  Obviously spoofed numbers.  In speaking with my provider and asking how they get around the do not call registry I was told that they do indeed call you but when you press 1 to speak to someone the call is rerouted and rings at the telemarketers phone....making it an inbound call.  They can then legally say they did not call you, you called them and were asking to speak to someone....

I have been getting similar calls for 1-1/2 years. Today's caller ID showed the number 360-474-3983. I have complained in writing to both the Federal and Wisconsin Do-Not-Call complaint departments, and I have basically been told that they are spoofing caller ID and cant be tracked. Hmmm...I wonder if they have ever heard of the Department of Homeland Security.

If anyone has carried on a lengthy conversation with the callers, maybe they could make a list of questions the scammers ask. Then we could all prepare lengthy phony answers to their questions to tie up their phones. After all, if they are getting false information from us, they are at least getting real information from some unsuspecting innocent person.

Playing dirty tricks on them may be our only recourse. If enough of us do it, it could hurt them. Do a search on "scambaiting" to see what some people are already doing to scammers.

I have also had calls from them  and after asking them to stop and then getting more calls. I bought a air horn and when they call I press 1 and start asking questions then I blow that horn!!!  If we all did this I think they would get just as tired of us as we are of them!!!

Received call this evening at 7PM.  Pressed "1" to speak to representative.  When I ask why they were calling me since I am on the no call list, the line went dead.

They call here daily.  I press 1  to tell them about the donotcall.gov list, since obviously, they missed that memo, ha, and they invariably hang up.  Some days, I put them on speaker phone and just keep typing and doing my work, while asking stupid questions to them until they hang up.  I hope they will get the message that calling me is a waste of time and take my number off.

They have been calling me for years.  It was quiet for about a year, 2011, but now they have started up again.  I use really foul language on them, that does not help.  I file complaints with the Feds. That does not help.  I try the polite approach, that does not help.
I went all the way through the sales pitch, they only want people with high card balances, sorry.

Ditto to the first post. They've been calling me every few days for over a year. If I ever find out where their office is god help them.

Our phone companies could stop all of these calls if they would allow us, the consumer, to block these calls. But they won't let us block these calls because think of the money these scammers pay the phone companies for calling services. If we put the scam artists "out of business" .... Who would be the big losers .... The phone companies.

I called my phone company last week, Century Link, and they said the ONLY phone calls im allowed to block are local .... Well of course none of the scammers are local calls. Duh a lot of help the phone company is. Of course I've been filling out donotcall.gov form for years and they're no help. The do not call list is just another piece of crap from the government. Wouldnt be surprised if the government didn't sell my phone number to the scammers .... An active number is a real money maker to these scammers. Maybe tHe only way to stop them is change the phone number.

Got a call from "unknown name, unknown number". She said her name was Judy Moore and she was with Card Services. She said I qualified to have my Visa rates lowered. They work with Visa/ Mastercard and store cards.  She said I have about $11,000 in debt "Is that right?".  I asked which Visas she was with. She said all of them. She said if you look on the bottom of your statements, you will see card services. I said, so you handle my bank my store card all of them?  She said yes. I said I need to end this call now and good bye, and she hung up.  I tried to call them back, but my phone would not call the "unknown number" back.

I'm assuming this is from this same scam?  I just don't see how one company can handle every single credit card I have.

Oh boy, I'm in good company. But I my friends am a National Credit Services virgin, or was. Today was my first call from these people. I was told that it was urgent that I speak with someone about getting a lower rate and was asked to press 9 which seems to be a twist on the other stories. I too pressed the button in hopes of letting them know of their small oversight as to me being on every DO NOT CALL list possible. The "lady" who answered spoke in a slight southern African american voice (don't start with the racist crap, I spend most of my time on the phone and know voices very well) she seemed in her late 40's early 50's with an air of entitlement to her. When I greeted politely and said, "yes ma'am I just wanted to let you know that I am on the Natio.." That is when she replied, "F**K YOU" and hung up. BTW My caller I.D. said "Unavailable - Unknown Number" Go figure.

I've got these Card Services calls for a couple of years and I have turned them in to the FCC 4 times. They use diff phone numbers and people each time. I now answer the phone and immediately press 1 to talk to a live person. If a person comes on before I lay the phone down I say "You're wasting my time so now I'm wasting yours." and hang up.

The criminals behind this operation do not come to this site and even if they did they would have no intention of truthfully answering questions or removing someone that posts here.
I use this site to pass on information that I have gathered and hopefully it will give some insight into these criminal operations. I'm just a poor ignorant uneducated country boy from backwoods Wisconsin who has received more than 350 calls from these scum sucking criminals.

Many of these calls are coming from Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false) numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC.
These scum are making money by sending their bogus Caller ID information to your phone company. Telephone numbers are Calling Name (CNAM) provisioned and stored in a special database accessible to other telecom utilities.  This means that for any outbound call that transmits a special  code corresponding to one of their phone numbers, these criminals collect a fee for transmitting the caller ID information to the Local Exchange Carrier receiving the call.  When you see a  phone number in your caller ID (along with some name like Card Services), your phone company has to reimburse the caller for downloading that info from the database where it’s stored.
These fees are typically fractions of a cent per call however when these fees are aggregated across tens of millions of outbound calls per week, it amounts to significant money.  Huge volumes of unsolicited telemarketing calls can drive significant revenue into the pockets of these scum sucking criminals. In return your phone company charges you a fee (it may be hidden or $5 to $15 on your phone bill).  Since they only pay out a small portion of this fee you can see why your phone company allows this to continue.
Many of the inbound robo call numbers are spoofed, as most of the bolierhouses, both off and on shore, are using Voip SIP Trunks services. Throwaway DID numbers are also used. Some of the robocalling is operated by the end use scammers directly. Others are contract services who earn a referral fee once you are transferred to the scammers.
If someone makes the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.

People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office and also file with:
    http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
    https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.

The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them nothing and they can make a million of them a day so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.
Unfortunately blowing an air horn or whistle doesn't work either. Their headset have noise dampeners plus they are expecting it. However with that said if it makes you feel better then by all means give it a shot.

The banking system is also at fault here, without merchant accounts and ACH processing these criminals could not collect the scammed funds. Though the criminals use obfuscation, layered corporations, multiple bank accounts and offshore stashing, patterns of obvious fraudulent activity become apparent after a short time.

If you are interested in obtaining useful tracking information on the callers, I suggest that you act very interested in the rate reduction scam, as you have multiple high interest cards with large balances. Tell them that you don’t give out card numbers in response to unsolicited calls. However, tell them that if they provide you with a verifiable number that you will then call them back and provide the info. Since many of the operatives work on commission they will provide direct contact numbers if they believe you are serious about completing the deal. Verified return phone numbers are an excellent tool in tracking the people behind the operations.

Robocalls are illegal unless you have given them prior permission in writing (not worded into some small print contract from a 3rd party) and are absolutely illegal to a cell phone.  The Telephone Consumer Protection Act permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for each violation.

You can also try suing them in small claims court. This site has some information on how to proceed.  http://www.killthecalls.com

Many of the disposable numbers come from Pacific Telecom Communications Group and they are currently under investigation and in the midst of various lawsuits. (The principles involved have been part of actions by the FCC under other business names).
    http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.com

The Oregon Public Utilities Commission has revoked Pacific Telecom's certificate to provide telecom services in Oregon.

The Indiana Attorney General’s Office filed lawsuits against:
Consumer Credit Group and Proactive Planning Solutions of Arizona for violating Indiana’s Do Not Call Law and Auto-Dialer Act known as the robo-call law. Both companies violated the Credit Service Organization Act and Deceptive Consumer Sales Act by not obtaining $25,000 surety bonds with the state and collecting money upfront without performing any services.
Debt Zero of California for collecting money up front, failing to provide services or a refund and operating without a $25,000 surety bond.
Clear One Advantage of Maryland and Credit Arbitrators of Texas for violating the Credit Service Organization Act and the Deceptive Consumer Sales Act by not obtaining the required surety bonds.

FTC is sending refund checks to 4,468 consumers “who allegedly were defrauded by a telemarketer who used robocalls (prerecorded voice messages) to pitch worthless credit card rate reduction programs for an up-front fee.”

Proof that current laws mean nothing to these scum suckers. Civil action by the FTC against such criminals is totally ineffective. These criminals need to be charged with Federal Felonies and subjected to significant jail time. All of those involved know that they are violating FTC regulations. The FTC levies huge fines, then rescinds them based on inability to pay. The FTC settles for the minimal cash on hand, and enjoins them from future telemarketing. The criminals sign off, then go right back to business as usual. These same people under different companies have been sued in the past and have only paid a minimal fine. Here are just a few:

Seek action against phone scams like Card Services.  Sign Resa's petition.
    https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/see ... rvices/XSmmhlSc

The FTC is having Robocall Summit on October 18th.  For more info go to:
    http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2012/10/robocalls.shtm
    http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls

What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
    1.    Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list.
    2.    Consider blocking the number
    3.    Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
    4.    Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
Register your phone numbers online at http://www.donotcall.gov or call (888) 382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).

When I receive a call from a new number I put it in my contacts list under Scum Suckers and assign it NO ring tone so at least after the first call they don't bother me anymore (I have filled all of the numbers in each and am up to Scum Sucker 47 now). Some phone companies will allow you to block a limited amount of numbers, however this is only a whack-a-mole solution but the only one I can offer.

We get a call from Card Services every
day and we are on the Do Not Call list.
How can we stop these calls?
    Complaining isn't helping.
