They keep calling my phone to tell me that I need to act now on my credit card.  They gave me the option to "press 1 to speak to an operator" and when I did, I asked her why they are calling my phone.  (Prepaid, btw, so it is costing me $$$$$$$).  Yikes! She just hung up on me.  Now I'm upset.

I dialed the number back and it cannot be reached.

So.... I looked up the number in 411.com, found out they are going through Hawaiin Telecom.  (Those are the next people I am calling, along with the BBB.)

    No one...;)
I don’t think there is anything we can do!  My dad gets these calls everyday.  He presses one (1) to stop the calls and that only makes it worse.  They are mean, they won’t give out their number to him (he doesn’t have caller ID) and they are just SO annoying to him.  I’ve put him on the “no call” and I’m STILL trying to get him off the online reverse lookup lists (yb.com, etc) but that too is nearly impossible.   It me over 5 months to get my unlisted number removed from their online database.

Hang in there peeps.  It’s happening to everyone.  Just be smart and don’t give them anything.  I like messing with them – like someone said earlier.  I waste their time.  Pretend and make sure I take as much of their time as I can before they hang up!  LOL

    This is Congress allowed Directmarketing
Direct Marketing is allowed by Congress.  When a company buys a direct marketing list, they are free and legal to call you.  Your name on the DNC list makes no difference.  You see, they have paid MONEY to be able to call you without punishment.  So, it makes no difference if you complain to the legal authorities.  What you can do is contact your LEGISLATORS AND CONGRESS PEOPLE.  Tell them you are not voting for them again because of direct marketing that they allow.  We just missed a great opportunity.  I had asked people all around to VOTE AGAINST ALL INCUMBENTS.  Well, they didn't listen.  Now, we have direct marketing probably for four more years.  Still, if we contact our congresspeople enough, maybe they will get the message. If not, send them home when they come up for re-election.  They can change this.  It is up to us to MAKE them do it.

If the FBI can find international terrorists, they can certainly find these callers.  It's plain to see that they really do not want to catch and prosecute these scammers.  All they have to do is place "Desist Orders" against the telephone companies who transmit their phone calls.  They can do that by blocking the numbers that complainers report.  Put me in charge, and I will cure this problem-Get rid of the person in charge of the FTC and replace him/her with someone who really wants to cure this problem. "It's really not that difficult."  CM

    I hate Card Services
These clowns were calling me several times a day, with my "second and final notice". This has been going on for years. Telling them I am on the do-not-call list did no good. What I do now is tell them I have to get my credit card statement to check the interest rate and just leave the phone down till they get tired of holding and hang up. I am now down to about one call a week. One guy from the company told me I will keep getting calls from them because every time I use a credit card they are notified, then call me to help me with my interest rate. (I pay my balance every month and pay no interest). Just this week, one person told me they work with Visa and Mastercard (neither of which I have) and 515 other banks and they were given my name and phone number by "Experian and TransUnion - do you know who they are?" and they also were notified that I was "no longer a security risk" and thus could offer me a lower interest rate. I did not know I was ever a "security risk". Another person claimed that if I just gave him my Discover card number, he could look at my balance and interest rate. I knew that if I gave him my number, they would put a service charge on my account instantly.

Wish the FCC could do something about these crooks.

When you get to tal;k to the operator, tell them to [***] off, before they get a chance to hang up.
LETS TURN THE TABLES ON THEM, if enough people told them to f-off it might work
I know from now on that is what I am going to do

    Take that!
I've been getting these calls for more than a year.  I always hung up.  Lately they have called at least once a day.  So I decided to get even.  Went out and bought one of those sports air horns. A REALLY REALLY LOUD ONE.  With my air horn at the ready, I did get a call today and pressed 1 as directed to speak to a rep.  A guy came on and thanked be for pressing 1 and that's when I let him have it.  I don't know if I blew the was out of his ears or broke his ear drum,  Hopefully they got the message.

    HARASSED
These people have called me dozens of times on both my home and cell phones, something about my credit cards.  I have not had even one credit card for many years.  When I press "1" to talk to a person after the recorded message, I have many times politely asked them to not phone me ever again, but they rudely just hang up.  A few minutes ago, after months of this harrassment, I finally lost my temper and told the person to go f=== themselves, then I hung up on them for a change.  That was wrong and I apologize, but enough is enough.  I plan on following up on this as there must be something the government can do to put an end to this continued nonsense.  I know the economy is bad right now, but I wish these people would get real jobs that did not include incessant, rudely bothering people.

I'm not sure how many still read this page, or how much this will help anyone.  I have an AT&T Credit Card that is managed by Citibank and didn't want to believe it could be them behind this scam.  But, I'm so tired of receiving these calls and being hung up on or treated poorly.  I took a phone number on one of the posts here, 800-345-9211 and called it.  It went to Capital One.  I used to have a Capital One credit card that has been closed for over 2 years.  I had them put me on their do not call list.  I found out during the call that they used to manage credit cards for Best Buy, which I had opened one for the rebate at the cashier.  I closed the Best Buy account over a year ago, but called them anyways.  I was put on their do not call list as well.  During that call, I found out the person I was talking with actually works for Citibank even though she answered the phone as "Best Buy"!!  But, she was only trained in Best Buy credit areas and directed me to call Citibank direct.  So.. I called my main credit card who of course denies having anything at all to do with these calls, but I had them put me on their do not call list as well.  I also told the person at Citibank that because i've been with them for over 20 years, that I will continue to keep track of the phone numbers that call me, dates and times, and if they get traced back, I will be calling them again about the harassment.  I still hope it isn't them ... but, I'm pretty fed up with all of this.

Hope any of this helps anyone in my predicament.

Additional message:  I called my phone company, and they couldn't do anything to help me but block the incoming call or change my phone number.  All of the incoming calls come from different phone numbers and upon calling them back, they can't be completed as dialed, they've been disconnected .. etc.

I'm going to track the numbers that call me and I don't plan on letting this rest until they finally leave me alone.

the scammers phone number is 1-888-203-7371.  Somehow their number was not blocked today when they called me. I called back numerous times asking the company name, website, ceo etc. They gave two different names for the company and have no web site.

I would actually pay a lawyer to get these moronic pains from calling me between 3 and 6 times a day!  Isn't there anything that can be done????

I have a phone with call Block. I blocked them from my phone. After a couple of months I got a phone call from my home phone number. I reported it to AT&T fraud department. They said thy would not be able to use my phone number again and they would block any teller marketers from calling my number again. That was Saturday and this is Tuesday. No calls so far. Life is great

I wonder if it's possible with a cordless home phone to program it to begin ringing on only the fourth ring?
All of these robo-calls stop at three rings.
    Any ideas?

Same thing happening to me. I pressed 1 yesterday and told the man I don't have any credit card debt and asked to be removed from his call list.  He told me to shut up and when I asked for his supervisor he started banging his phone on the table and started making hissing noises from his mouth.  I told him what a loser he was and hung up, darn scammer.  Get an air horn and when they call again, press 1 and then blow their eardrums away.  Walmart here I come.

I, too, have received these calls for over a year on a daily to weekly basis.  It always starts with a call from Jennifer assuring me this would be my final notice.  At times a State name appears, my own number appears, and now various other numbers appear.
Everything they have done illegally have changed somewhat except they still keep CALLING.  What can we do when we can't get them to stop?  They had previously called my house phone, but now that it is cancelled they call my cell phone!

They call daily. I go along then put the phone down. Today they called me back claiming They were disconnected. The # was a new one and went to a fax. The # was 713-300-0001. I hope someone can use this # to deal with these thieves.
