Mr. David Banks called yesterday from 876-506-6012 (a Jamaica landline according to the reverse phone lookup) stating that I had won $2.5 million and a bonus prize of a new Mercedes Benz auto.  My prizes were scheduled to be delivered at 9am on 5/18/12 to my residence and he couldn't wait to see my happy expression when they get here. Mr Banks kept calling all day and into the evening with "last minute arrangements" for the delivery team and at about 4:30.. he explained that all I had to do was to go to WalMart, Walgreens or CVS and acquire a $499 MoneyPack Reload, give him the 14 digit number on the back of the card.  I told them that I would go get the card, but that I didn't get off work until 7:00pm and please could they call back at about 8:00pm for the numbers. He said of course (in his best Jamaican accent) and that he would call back then.  Within the time from 4:30-7:00pm, Mr Banks called another 4 or 5 times to ask what color car I wanted - choice between White, Red and Blue.... did I think I could get off work earlier since I was going to be wealthy tomorrow... what color interior in the car... just wanted to touch base & make sure I was going to be able to make it to get the card because he was "trusting" me etc...  He called back at 8:00pm and I told him that I was unable to get the card because they were out, but that I would be able to do so early in the morning and be back home before 9:00am to receive my prizes.  He started calling early this morning but of course I didn't answer because I was "on the road" getting the card... I finally answered about 9:00am  - "my car didn't start so I had to send a friend to get it for me and she didn't have a cell phone so I didn't know what time she would be back"  which bought me more time to think up more to tell him.  I finally got "angry" with him early afternoon and told him I wasn't going to give him any numbers until they were sitting in my driveway with my new car and my $2.5 million because they were really late and I said that it was probably a scam anyway.  So he had a "Mr Shawn" call me from Las Vegas and assure me that everything was up and up and Mr. Shawn sent me a bunch of paperwork that made everything look really legitimate and asked me to give him part of the numbers and give the rest of them to the delivery team when they got here with my prizes. He called 5 times within 10 minutes after he sent the paperwork and so I told him that my dog had gotten hit and would he please call me back in 30 minutes.  I read over all the paperwork and didn't answer the about 20 times he called in between the 30 minutes time slot and then about 10 minutes ago I gave him a line of random numbers and he said thank you and I haven't heard anything from him since. AND of course there is no Mercedes in my driveway or truck with flowers and balloons and a huge check for $2.5 million to hold while they take my picture!!   LOL  At least I got a little fun out of it myself!!

I was called by Ben Hill from an Unknown Name and Unknown Number, stateing that I had Won a million dollars and a Mercedes. All I had to do was buy a Green Dot Money Pak for $300, call him back and give him the numbers from the card, and my prize would be delivered. I asked him for a phone # and he gave me 876 277 2202. When I told him I couldn't send that much he said well the least we can do it for is $200 and everything would be on its way.

I just received this phone call and this is not the first time.  They prey on people who have medical bills or are in debt to credit card companies.  That is not private almost anyone can get a minimum amount of information they just can't get actual specific information unless you give it to them.  It is not worth the time just hang up.  I tried reporting it to the police but they wouldn't respond. I don't know where a person would go beyond that?
One more thing they have change there MO somewhat, I was a second place winner for 250,000 and a Mercedes. Nice try I told them I know it's a scam and you never ever have to pay money up front for winning anything. Besides.....  I have a six year old granddaughter named Mercedes and she is all the prize I need.

I just receiveda phone call this morning[1/17/13] from Jack Fergason (876) 895-0487 claiming the award of a prize of 3.5 million dollars and a Pearl white Mercedes.  This person claims to be with the MEGA MILLIONS LOTTERY out of Philadelphia, Mississippi.  In order to claim the prize two forms of identification are required:
    A government issued ID
A green dot pre-paid card from Wal-Mart in the amount of $799

The claim was that you do not need to give them the card .....just the numbers on it!  REALLY!

In order to prove legitimate he said to call him back at the number above to prove he was not a scam.  I didn't have to call him back.  Within five minutes he called back to the Sherriffs Office.  He bacame very upset told the person on the phone:

    Answer:Sherriffs Department
    Scammer:What is Cher Reef?
    Answer:Sherrifs Department
    Scammer:What is these?
    Answer:Police
    Scammer:Your high
    Scammer:You smoke Ganja
    Answer:What?
    Scammer: F****you!
    Scammer:Hang Up

I just got a call from 876-286-1748 on 1/21/13. The guy said he was from Colorado Mega Millions and said that I had won 1.2 million dollars for paying my AT&T bill on time and that's how they got my number. He said there was a UPS truck a few blocks away from my house (he named a street) and that I needed to go to Walgreens and pick up a Green Dot scratcher for $200 and give them the 14 digit number on the card so they could put it on the check. He asked me how I felt about this and I said I was sceptical. I told him I didn't have $200 to spend and he said "you're going to let $200 get in the way of financial freedom?" I found this thread while we were talking and told him that many people have had the same call and it was a scam. He assured me that it was all legit. I looked up the mega millions website and saw a warning there for Jamaican frauds. I told him that I was going to have to report them to the colorado lottery's crime investigations unit. He got a little pissed and said that I was making a mistake and that when I call the lottery I will find out that it was all legit and that I missed out on 1.2 million. We hung up and I promptly called the lotto. They are closed today. Its MLK day.

My husband got a call on his cell phone a couple weeks ago from this number (876-895-0487) trying to tell him something and he couldn't understand the man so he hung up.  The over the weekend, my home phone rang and it was the same number with a name Kingston JM on my caller ID.  I never answered and they haven't called back. I would like to know how they got my husband's cell and my home phone number. Our cell phone isn't from the same company that my home phone is with. I hate that they do this to people who throw away their hard earned money thinking they will get a windfall.  So very sad for the victims.

They are probably just calling blocks of numbers.
If they have your name, they may just be looking up people at random on online directory sites.

Hey guys:  I just got a call from the mega millions company too.  First he asked for someone else, he called a cell phone.  First he told he to stop wasting his time that the person was not there, and he was busy.  I was just flaggergasted.  He then hung up on me, so I called back and asked for a supervisor.  The number that called me was  from a 702 area code.  I didn't listen to the rest, but everbody else beware.  Thanks

I just received a call from Mr. Mike McCater from the "Mega-Millions Company" based out of New York, telling me that I won 2.5 million...exact same scam, without the car (sad face)...the initial number was blocked and I was driving so I just listened to his spiel. Mr. McCater went on to talk about the $199.99 that I needed on a green dot card...blah blah blah just like the writers above. I told him that I was going to CVS to purchase the card but I needed his number to call him back…879-296-1429…I’ve been to Jamaica several times so I immediately knew what the deal was but I played along. When he called me back I told him to go suck his mother (huge insult in Jamaica) and not to call my mother$&*#in phone number again and hung up! Scamming is what people on that poor island do!

Hey guys I was told 5.5 million tax free and a new car with taxes and insurance paid.  Geico was the insurance company.  First time hung up on them.  All I had to do was go to CVS, Walmart or Walgreens
to buy a greendotmoney tack card.  I did not enough know what this was.  I told him it would take 30
minutes to get to the store.  Hung up and he kept calling and calling.  It was not worth the $5.00 for the
card and who knows how much he wanted me to put on the card. But I was to talk with this John
Marshall when I got to the store.  Of course I did not go instead put my phone on vibrate and he kept
calling me back.  Instead of calling him all kinds of names I let him believe I had taken the bait.  At least
for awhile he thought he had a fish and wasted his time calling me back.  He then leaves a message he
wants to join me on Facebook.  I don't think so!!!!!!! Oh by the way he kept telling me he was not lying.  He was a God fearing man and went to church.  That he believed in the Lord. He said he was trying to get me
what God wanted me to have and this was the money and car. I hope no one falls for this.
