I received a phone call from a women named Anita at my work place. She is telling me that I owe a debt to WaMu. I told her no I don't. She goes on about this account and tells me I'm going to pay these fees. Again I told her that is not my account. She proceeds to start yelling and screaming at me. Tells me that they will take legal action against me. I hang up on her, she calls back. I was trying to get to the bottom of this, and she would listen or answer my concerns or questions.
I'm very upset at this point, I go home and speak to my husband. I decide to call again, Anita starts to scream and yell again. I asked her to please let me ask my questions. She tells me that I need a time out and that she is going to put me on hold. I hung up on her again. My husband tries to speak to her, and she tell him she doesn't want to speak to him to put me back on the phone. He then asked to speak to her supervisor and someone in charge, she said no and she doesn't have too.
One hour later, I tried again. I supposedly got to speak to manger. I explained to him how rude Anita was to me. I told him I was trying to get to the bottom of this because this is not my debt. He gave me the information I needed so that I could proceed to get this fixed. I explained that this is a mistake. He said that he will take care of my complaints about Anita. I just couldn't believe how rude this company was being.

Any debt they attempt to collect that is over 7 years old, valid or not, they could only request you pay, but there is absolutly nothing they have any power to do. Kindly tell them you have no intention of paying any debt over 7 years old since there is no way to confirm at this time if the debt is valid or not.
There are many instances where a debt was paid through one collection agency, only to end up being persued by another one years later. It's probable that the previous collection agency never reported your payment. Because of this possibility, anything over 7 years is a dead issue.
If the calls or letters persiet, tell them you will report them to the Washington State BBB if you hear from them again. Tell them to have a nice day and hang up.
They have no power over you.

Now, almost 6 years later, they kept saying I owe them money. The E.R. person that I talk to is constantly yelling and telling me that they have my address and name so it must be right. When I talked to Regions, they also said that I owed money because I went into overdraft. I verify all of the information and whatnot. When I ask them how the account went into overdraft, they say that they cannot tell me. Sounds fishy, if you ask me.
E R Solutions once called my little brother, who is 15, so that he could tell me that I owe money. What is up with that!? I'm getting sick of them.
Today, I kept asking the collector questions and she actually got upset with me! She hung up the phone while I was still talking. It's funny, but still rude. I'm sick of this company.
8 years ago I tried to clear this up and made a payment arrangement with another 'agency'. They applied nothing to the principal, collected thousands from my checking account and laughed at me when I protested. I tried to explain this to the ER sol collector to which he replied, "you need to stop the drama and listen, because I'm gonna tell you how this is gonna go."
Well, 8 years ago I reported the agency to the federal government under the fair credit reporting act as well as the Florida attorney general and I wrote the 3 credit reporting agencies and placed a statement on my credit reports.
Thank you ALL for your comments, they are valuable. When the post office opens I'll be mailing a certified letter to ERS reminding them this debt is over 7 years old. Stop persuit. I have no intention to pay an 11 (eleven) year old debt. A copy will be sent to the Fla Atty Gen and the Wa St. Atty Gen.
Additionally, for dramatic effect I'll be mailing a complaint of abusive collection practice to memorialize his reference to drama.

I used 1800 444 8485 and dialed extensions as soon as the recording started. Since I've set up a system like this myself, I know a little bit about what to look for as far as what extensions are successful.
First off, they are all 4 digit extensions. Second, they share the phone system with different departments (i.e. it's not all collectors on the same number), so don't misplace your rage.
As far as I can tell, collector extensions start (within this 800 number) at 1301. So, if you're tired of not getting an actual person to talk to, here are some steps to get someone the first time.
1. Dial the 800 number.
2. As soon as you hear the voice recording start, dial 13xx and then # (xx can be replaced by almost any numbers as they've used the whole extension block for collectors).
After some time, I dialed 1313# and spoke with someone to tell them to remove my damn number from their list. Whether or not they actually did is a different story, but at least it beats getting stuck in the stupid limbo where you can't vent to someone.
Happy trolling!
