I received a phone call from a women named Anita at my work place. She is telling me that I owe a debt to WaMu. I told her no I don't. She goes on about this account and tells me I'm going to pay these fees. Again I told her that is not my account. She proceeds to start yelling and screaming at me. Tells me that they will take legal action against me. I hang up on her, she calls back. I was trying to get to the bottom of this, and she would listen or answer my concerns or questions.

I'm very upset at this point, I go home and speak to my husband. I decide to call again, Anita starts to scream and yell again. I asked her to please let me ask my questions. She tells me that I need a time out and that she is going to put me on hold. I hung up on her again. My husband tries to speak to her, and she tell him she doesn't want to speak to him to put me back on the phone. He then asked to speak to her supervisor and someone in charge, she said no and she doesn't have too.

One hour later, I tried again. I supposedly got to speak to manger. I explained to him how rude Anita was to me. I told him I was trying to get to the bottom of this because this is not my debt. He gave me the information I needed so that I could proceed to get this fixed. I explained that this is a mistake. He said that he will take care of my complaints about Anita. I just couldn't believe how rude this company was being.

    To Whom It May Concern:

I have been contacted by your company about a debt you allege I owe. I am instructing you not to contact me further in connection with this debt. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a federal law, you may not contact me further once I have notified you not to do so.

    Sincerely,

Have received multiple calls every day from this company. Sometimes they leave automated messages, sometimes no message at all.

I have no outstanding debts, so I called to tell them they have the wrong number.

Woman I spoke with was cordial but said my number isn't in their system!!! How is that possible when they call me every day?!

She transferred me to another woman who said they'd take my number out of the system. We'll see.

MY QUESTION: should I check my credit report? Why would they be calling me?

No ... you are a moron trying to get past Federal Laws. TJ is correct, and you are not, and that is probably why you have gotten sued and are now coming on boards to whine about people on these boards.

I received a letter from this company yesterday about a debt that I paid off when I was in college back in 1998....when I called the number I was able to speak to someone and when I told her that was something I had paid off she quickly rushed me off the phone and told me that the account was closed and I didn't need to worry about the letter.  I'm wondering 1. Why did you send me the letter out of the blue in the first place if you knew that debt had been resolved and 2. Where did you come up with the figure $582.02 that you said I owed...something sounded really shady about this place...

It's called an IVR.  An automated system calls you and you usually have to select the option to speak with someone and wait for it to connect to someone.  That or call the number that is calling you back.

In that letter you quote, you would also need to specify the number that they are not to call as sometimes the number is an old number.

Lmao at you dumbass replies to master packer
U work for this company? No one has to change their number because someone is harassing them. I have prosecuted and had people put in jail for phone harassment. This is no different. Your ignorant and obviously like what you do for a living. So I suggest that u crawl back into the hole you crawled out of and stop harassing people. Do not call means DO NOT CALL!! Auto calls are illegal. Check your laws and then follow rules and maybe you will get somewhere in life. Otherwise keep your mouth shut and stop being blatantly abusive with your language on here. No one once to hear you.

Like Inez I keep getting daily phone calls from ER Solutions 18007599854. When I answer the phone there is no one there and the phone disconnects. I don't owe any one any outstanding money. So I don't know why they call my phone every day. What I really don't understand is why no one is on the other end of the line when my phone is answered. I want them to stop calling my number.

They have access to the SS# database via the criminal brother in law (gov) in the last post

    Yes they are a scam
And not up to what theyre touting on the messages

ALL recordings, and a variety of them - had 3 bogus calls today one from this number above that we are on the page for, and two others, all Seattle area, while I am 3000 miles away but recently lived there where these creeps are from.

This number is unpublished, and only 3 weeks old...they got it by tapping my family's line east coast, only possible explanation, have given it to NO ONE.  (relative called, voila, theyre bothering me again, this is thru 6 number changes in 6 months now, all non-published and NEVER given to anyone thats a business etc).

If you haven't given your phone number to any business, and certainly not to a creditor, then it's more likely they are pretexting your relative's phone company to obtain their phone records.

Or if they have your employer, they might pretext them.

Highly illegal, after Congress outlawed it.
It cost several HP board members their jobs, and they only did it through a PI.

purpose of the recordings or hangups is to hear your voice A),
    B) to activate an eavesdropping device called "infinity device"
This is a criminal gang w/SS# illegal access

Once phone rings, still on hook, or hung up, connection continues rendering eavesdropper full earshot to your home, via the handset mic and some computer tones it makes
Will continue till phone is manually unplugged

On cell phones, you'll notice battery drained and/or hot, when hung up, as if its been in use. Works same way.
    Remove battery.

Once phone unplugged or battery removed on cell, process must be started all over again, with computer calling you to reset the eavesdroppers connection.

    Research: Infinity Device

"Infinity device" would normally require a modification to your (or your relative's) phone.
That isn't practical for normal skip-tracing, but pretexting is.

If your phone is dumb, with no modifications, and disconnects from the line when it's on the hook, this shouldn't even be possible.

Of course, smart phones with deceptive apps are a different story.  We have yet to see what they are capable of.

I live in England and this company just phoned me.  The guy asked for me and the asked for my post code and 1st line of my address and my birth date.  I refused and he got annoyed.  I asked him what the call was all about and he refused to tell me unless I gave him the details he wanted.  He went on about a letter i should of had but i have never received a letter.   He got annoyed so I hung up. Should i be worried?
