Rogers duplicitous customer service

About three months ago, I called Rogers customer service to cancel my cellular services. I was transfered to the customer relations department where I was offered as incentive to stay with Rogers three months unlimited calling. They didn't mention anything else besides that. Sounded good so I went for it. Little did I know that Rogers had cunningly signed me up on a three year contract!!!!!
You can't imagine how enraged I was when I found out. The conniving, scheming and duplicitousness of it all just convinced me I had to get out....I was done with Rogers and no amount of incentives was going to change my mind. I was in for a mega-ton shock when I called to cancel my services. Apparently I would have to pay 400 dollars to cancel...and you know why....because I was on that three year contract.
Let me clarify a few things. About a year and a half ago, I bought my nokia 6682 smartphone full price on no contract. I payed my bills faithfully every single month. I was a free woman, with no contracts. So why in the world would I want to shackle myself to Rogers on a three year contract!!!! Why didn't customer relations mention that the three months unlimited calling entailled a three year contract? Do you see the utter deceptiveness of this all?
About three days ago I called Rogers to sort this all out and thankfully my calling plan was reverted back to what it used to be. But to be honest with you, I'm so angry and tired, that as soon as my account is officially back to a month to month plan, I'm going to get the hell out of Rogers.
Rogers needs to change their policies. Become transparent will all their customers.

Rogers discontinued my service without any text message, voice mail etc. Since I was purposefully keeping my cell usage low, I was only phoning when I received a call. Therefore, with no calls coming in, I assumed all is well. Was out of contact with home/business for two days without knowing it. Nothing bad happened but if it did, I'd have no way of knowing unless I tried to make an outgoing call.
Called Rogers when I arrived home and found out my cell was not working. Rogers says it can't contact you by texting or phone to let you know your account is nearing its limit when out of country. Their software can't do this. And, they will suggest this to their development team but can't commit that they will fix this.
I find it incredible that Rogers didn't already consider such issues such as when their customers are away from family and business and may need Rogers service the most. And when I asked for feedback from their development team advising if they will be working to address this in the near future...the response was that they couldn't call me to tell me.
I would never be so inconsiderate to my clients' needs. What a shame. My contract expires in four months.

WHITE COLLAR CRIME...Rogers must be ordered, ORDERED!!! to stop these tactics
and refund all who have been duped. I had no idea this was going on.
ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE.
Family member had to leave the country and cannot pay (lost everything), and I thought I would do a favour. Offered 80% of total if not bad credit was reported. They refused and then sent me the total bill via a collection agency!
F--k Rogers. Can we drive them out of this country!?
The call couldn't help me either as I was not the one registered on the account and forwared my call to accounts receivable that offered to help but since I was not on the account they could not.
Then I received a letter from NB telling me that I had "become registered" and could call and discuss the account which I did. They promised I had an excellent chance to reach an "entente". The next day I received the collection agency bill. Back to Rogers who seemed not to know about the collection agency!
So called the collection agency and was promised that I could settle for less than 75% without bad credit report. Today it's 80% with a bad credit report. Called back to Rogers....it's in the hands of the collection agency.
So no letting go of bad credit, not a penny from me and f--k the credit agency!
I know how it feels! My situation is a bit different as I have been asked to handle (pay!) an others account and that in itself is a big problem as you can't access info from Rogers and all is in their favour if you want to make a deal even if it's in good faith on your part.
My last (registered) letter to Rogers and their credit agency "crony" was 80% with no bad credit rating left for the payee.
The credit agency actually said that 80% OK but they would leave bad credit rating for the 20%.
So I said f--- you.
I won't pay until they come back with a compromise.
I'm happy since I've just paid 640 dollars for fine to rogers and paid 150 dollars for sony ericson and even after I unlocked it didn't work with mobilicity (xperia arc) and I paid 350 dollars for buying nexus s but it doesn't support right to left languages. I pay 45.20 dollars for my plan and I'm so happy with that the only problem is in some spots internet is slow especially in high traffic internet hours and specifically in downtown among high rises.
Please read any contract before sign it since dealer lied to me when I get to one of phone dealer booth in fairview mall to get a new phone they told me I should sign a paper to get new phone because my previous phone was dead and I should get a phone and they told me rogers warranty for the phone is just one year and it doesn't go with contract for three years.
But when I called Rogers they told me I've renewed my contract for three years.
Before I drop my contract with rogers I paid my bill but they charge me again 140 dollars more than 500 dollars fine for wireless and data connection.
Since CEO. Of Rogers is east Indian you should be cautious because we know they are so corrupt. In the meantime dealer who decieved me and cost me 640 + 150 dollors was Indian.
