I got a call on my cell phone regarding credit card debt relief. . I was transferred to nakisha,  asked if I wanted to continue, they asked for $600 or $60.00 to send me the paperwork and for the consultation. When I asked them what it was for she said they would deduct from my first payment but would not tell me what the money was for FINALLY SHE  said yes.

THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD APPLY TO MY CREDITORS BUT WHEN THEY CONVINCED ME TO RECORD MY VOICE THAN THEY SAID IT WAS ONLY A FEE FOR THE CONSULTATION!!!

. No fees should be sent to anyone for additional information requested on a company or program

she has been harrasing me telling that i have to pay this amount or else! and that they can take me to court becaues they have my voice accepting!! !  unfortunally i gave many personal information!!
what happends now??
i never signed anything!!!!

After having my caller ID show up with the names of local (I am in Missouri) elderly people that claim never to have called me, I got curious. Finally, I got a call while I was home - the Caller ID was spoofed, it was fake, it wasn't an elderly man but a automated call asking me about credit card debt.

The boiler room style salesman wouldn't tell me who he worked for beyond 'Consumer Law Group" - no call back numbers, nothing. He wanted my credit card information. The website he gave me was for another law firm, not the one calling me.

In short, they violate the No Call List; they use fake Caller ID data; they won't say who they are, or give a call back number; and they want my credit card numbers.

Stay AWAY! Nothing but a scam...

Has anyone heard of Consumer Attorneys of America?  They posted a job announcement on a school website for new attorneys...I wanted to know if anyone has heard of this company and Michael Metzner; it is located in Coconut Creek Florida or Jupiter, Florida.

I have been using Comsumer Law Group for over a year.  They draft $280.50 out 2 times a month for my bills and #39.00 am month for their fee. I had to continue to make payments up until the time the bank draft started. And actually 2 of my Credit card holders stated I owe them and additional payment, I disagreed, so it shows up on my statements that I have past due balance of 1 payment, but they still lowered my interest rate between 4% to 7%, which is better than 21% - 29%.  They have taken one of my balances from $17,000 down to $11,000, plus the other cards balances are coming down.  Some of the letters here have to be from people who chose to try debt settlement.  If you read the fine print for debt settlement you will see it is not a safe or practical way to go. It is better to file bankruptcy that debt settlement. I consulted an attorney prior to making a decision. There is a differenc between debt settlement and debt credit relief. All that has happened is my interest rate was lowered so that most of the money paid goes to my balance, which lowers what I owe.  For some people depending on what you owe you can call yourself and work out the same agreement and lower your interest.  My balances were to high for me to do that.  So far I am pleased with what Consumer Law has done for me.  The said it would take about 5 years to get me debt free from my credit cards.  Also you have to call and close your accounts and learn to live without a credit card. But I have learned to do just that.  If I don't have cash then I don't buy.  I first called a local number in my city for Consumer Credit Counseling who sent me an application in the mail, then they referred set up my contact with Consumer Law.  I have called and spoke with my credit counselor without any difficulty.  Also you can find a lot of Christian credit counselors who will help with out any fee.  I receive statements from my Credit Cards monthly showing what Consumer Law has paid on my account.  I wish everyone luck with getting out of debt.

I was so saddened for my friend whom asked me to help him find out what the consumer law group took his money and didn't pay his bills. The one lady that responded with th lengthy complaint, is exactly what he is going through. I am a business owner, and there has to be a way to sue CCCS for refering people to this service knowing after complaints that they are a skam. I will check inot this and if there's a way that we all can pull together to do a class action suit, we need to. It is hard times for everyone and paying bills to avoid bankruptcy I give everyone a 'GOOD JOB' rather than filing bankruptcy, the easy way out.

I will call the Oregon and Florida attorney general, but also if there's anyone out there that want to work or file a class action suit if we can please email me at equinemall@yahoo.com  I'm sooo sorry this is happening to people.  Pat

    Hi,
my name is jenny from st. louis missouri.
i have been going through consumer law group from boca raton florida for a little over a year and i am beginning to believe that this company is phony.
well they are taking out their $3,000 fee before any of my credit card bills can be paid and now i am being sued through citi bank and my court date is on january 13th 2010
consumer law group told me that they will contact me just before the court date to let me know if citi bank will settle or if i have to go to court
i am so aggravated not knowing what will happen but i have a feeling i will end up going to court
i wish that i would of never got involved with this company if they are not going to do what they say because i dont got time for games here i just need my credit cards taken care of before i get sued by each and every one creditor
i dont know what to do at this point since my friend is paying their $285.51 fee every month
    thank you for your time

I just wanted to say the same exact thing is happening to us through Consumer Law Group with Citibank.  They are telling us the same thing, that we should be getting a letter from Citi on whether or not it will be settled.  We have to respond to the letter by the end of the month.  I just wish I could get a straight answer out of someone.

Consumer Law Group they settled with citibank this morning, and told me they would email me a paper over in 10 minutes, and call me,but i waited 40 minutes, and called back, and they said they was going to mail me the papers through reg. mail, and i will still need to go to court so now i am not going to have any papers saying they have settled cause the email saying they settled wouldnt download to view.Well my friend that is paying consumer law group told them she was getting out of the program if i have to go to court, and they sounded nervous when i told them that, and its going to cost me $20.00 to go to court cause i dont have a car,and they dont care.I will let write back, and see if they did settle with them, and let you know if they are legit.I'll keep you posted.

                            Thanks,
                             Jenny

I had to go to court cause of citibank wouldnt get me out of court, and wanted me to offer to pay them money.I was upset i had to go to court, but after i went i found out they are compromising to settle for 2000.00,and 1200.00 for another citibank i am with.So i dont think now that consumer law group is phony.I did at first, but they are taking care of my credit cards they bill me statements every month what goes for fees, and what goes for my account, and they also gave me a paper to print out to take to court with me today with the creditors signature, and comsumer law group will tell you what to tell them if you have to go to court.

                       Thanks,
                        Jenny

IN REGUARDS TO SHARONS POST.What you have done is enrolled into an intrest rate reduction program that isn't provided directly by the law office that signed you up. Intrest rate reduction programs are mainly offered by 501-c3 non profit orginizations. The Consumer Law Group more than likley gets credit for refering you to one of these companies and they have NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LAW OFFICE. Most of these companies have the same sounding names; American Credit COunslers, Credit Counslers of america,American Credit Counslers INC! Beware it sounds like The Consumer law Group is just an enrollment agent for other companies also!

s- you are %100 correct it's public information (which you can find online or by calling CLG yourself) that the Consumer Law Group enrolls their clients to an intrest rate reduction with a 501-C3 Non Profit named ACCI or American Credit Counslers Incorperated. Thats just one of the many they deal with. Look it up online! I called CLG, I found their number's in the telephonebook under the title "Consumer Credit Counseling" WHICH HAS NO RELATION TO CCCS OR MONEY MANAGEMENT INTERNATIONAL!!! BEWARE!!! TRICKERY!!! I TALKED TO A KATHLEEN GLAZE AT EXTENSION 111 and she told me how there would be a 30-40 dollar a month fee! Kathleen also told me about ACCI website. So I called ACCI directly and there was almost NO FEE for enrolling directly with the non profit. Since then I have helped at least 380 people enroll directly to the non-profit instead of the Consumer Law Group

Although these two posts from "Jenny" are written as if they are follow- ups from the earlier one, where the first Jenny was worried about an upcoming lawsuit by Citibank, and are posted to appear just before and after the earlier post's court date of Jan. 13, they appear to be written in a very different writing style, and therefore are probably by a different author. They also show "shill post" writing style characteristics.

The apparent goal of these later posts is to portray how good a job the company did, how good a settlement they got with Citibank, not only on one account but on a second as well, and how carefully and professionally they account for their payments and fees.

Why would someone add a "happy ending" to another person's post?

The Consumer Law group is a bunch of crooks! They did absolutely nothing for me over a years time, but continued to "steal" my money. Do not fall victim to their scam as I did.
