Country: United States
I got a call on my cell phone regarding credit card debt relief. . I was transferred to nakisha,  asked if I wanted to continue, they asked for $600 or $60.00 to send me the paperwork and for the consultation. When I asked them what it was for she said they would deduct from my first payment but would not tell me what the money was for FINALLY SHE  said yes.

THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD APPLY TO MY CREDITORS BUT WHEN THEY CONVINCED ME TO RECORD MY VOICE THAN THEY SAID IT WAS ONLY A FEE FOR THE CONSULTATION!!!

. No fees should be sent to anyone for additional information requested on a company or program

she has been harrasing me telling that i have to pay this amount or else! and that they can take me to court becaues they have my voice accepting!! !  unfortunally i gave many personal information!!
what happends now??
i never signed anything!!!!

I just found this site, im curently dealing with this company for my laon modification. I've been dealing with a Seth Adi, but Anthony Blackwell is the managing attorney in their Woodbury, NY office. I was told my retainer will be $2,800. When i asked about their fee Seth stated that each fee is based on the amount on work needed for each case.

I think next week I'll take the 3 hour drive down to the office and make sure this feels right before I give up any more of my money.

Sorry guys, this is a complete scam.  They claim to modify loans, but they aren't a lender.  According to the State Bar of Nevada, Blackwell's license is suspended.  Loan modifications do not require up-front payment and they can only be done by the bank to whom you owe the money.

If anyone in the short sale or loan modification arena approaches you and asks for money up front, they are most likely breaking the law.

Stay away from attorneys for anything but disputes.  Loan modifications are a joke.

i 2nd as for the validity of this firm, in my search there does not exist a BOA of woodbury, newyork as claimed by C.F.L. stating their firm is on the same 1st.floor at the address of 1000 woodbury ny.  nor was i able to verify Anthony Blackwells credentials... let me know what you come up with, and likewise..

Likewise man, i was asked to pay the same fee 2,800 which was based on their work and foreclosure status.. They are professionals even down to the forms sent to you. However, i was told bank of america is the lender they work with and they are located at the same address 1st floor of `1000 woodbury,ny..  But I was not able to find such an existing BOA at that address, by checking the mortgage and financial banks of that area woodbury,ny BOA is NOT OF THAT LOCATION. but if you discover more, please let me know, FYI, BOA denied me in my city/state, why would that branch accept me??? They are follow under the same corporate rules/policies...
    Peace n good luck

Agreeable... BOA is my lender, and CFL stated that their attorney "blackwell"has worked primarily with this lender at their addresss.. No such listing found on my search. Though, they are professionals at this, coz, the person whom delt with my case, everyday ask if I had received short sale from my bank...BUT THE BACKSIDE OF STUPIDITY!! I SAID TO MYSELF, INTERESTING IF CFL WORKS WITH BOA LENDER AND AT SAME LOCATION, "GENERAL SCAM BLACKWEL" WOULD CERTAINLY KNOW BEFORE ME.
    Thanks for you input...Later

    Hi Tony,
did you find anything yet?  I too was contacted by consumer 1st law group

Once all my paper work was turned I spoke to Atty Blackwell and he stated that his firm could not help me. A large portion of my debt was not caused by my mortgage. When I asked for a refund on my retainer deposit of $600, he agreed said it would take a week. He made it a point to mention the fact that they do not normally do refunds.

Im dealing with consumer 1st law group and i paid the fee, my fee was $3500. I had not paid the mortgage in three months and I had a sale date. The leading attorney, Anthony J Blackwell had contacted my bank and I'm relieved. Anyone who complains about a law firm representing them with a retainer fee should not own a home... thats just my opinion. I have full confidence in Consumer 1st law group.

    uh duh
uh maybe because the bank has to send the notice to the homeowner and not the attorney......thats just where i would go with that.

I am not sure where some of your information has been coming from, however here is a link to the Nevada State Bar Association website with Anthony Blackwell's  Attorney Profile. He is an attorney in good standing with the Bar, has a clean disciplinary record and is an NYU Law School graduate.

Furthermore, we would like to clarify any confusion, BOA does not have a branch at our location. Nor does any other lender/servicer. However, BOA (and other lenders) has assigned a team of negotiators dedicated to servicing our cases. This streamlines and simplifies the entire modification process and removes all of the normal obstacles in the way of getting a modification.

We are always available to answer any questions and address any concerns people may have. You can email us at info@consumer1stlaw.com or call 1(800)483-0556.

I had contacted Consumer First Law Group the day I received a foreclosure notice.  I had tried for months on end to do this on my own.  After repeatedly getting the runaround and misinformation I decided I needed help with this.  As soon as I contacted Consumer First I was told they would first have to see if I even qualify.  The went through my mortgage information and my expenses.  My case manager was not only understanding and helpful but extremely knowledgeable.  He explained what would happen from start to finish.  Consumer First stopped my sale date and is now working on my modification.  So say what you want, but they do what they say and saved my home.

The reason we are not with the BBB is because we are a Law Firm.  You would Have to check the bar association for our attorney's record.  Again, we are not a business, we are a Law Firm.  Just trying to clear up the confusion.  Thanks

**** HUGE SCAM ***** I WAS JUST SCAMMED BY THEM THIS WEEK***

Dont listen to the employees leaving messages they are all part of the scam!!!

I recieved forecloure notice and I had filled out information for the Obama Hamp program - I recieved a call from Ralphie at the firm and he was nice and emailed the paperwork I needed - I filled out all the paperwork and paid the $4100 fee on March 11th.  When Anthony Blackwell had spoke with me he said it would take 3-4 months on average and it easily could take up to a year, so you would be behind that many more payments.  Well I am taking a different route to end the foreclosure and Ralphie at the firm has been nothing but helpful but the Attorney talked to me on Wednesday March 15th and I stated I would pay them for the 3 days they had worked on it and he "promised" to call the following day Thursday March 16th.  I called him 6 times and got the "hes in a meeting speech".  I think that this place is a big complete scam and they target people who are at a hardship and they are heartless crooks.

** The case manager was more knowledgable than the actual "attorney" if he actually is one. **

Here is the best also to flag everyone not to go or use these crooks - Atty Blackwell sends a case list of your case so you can so call watch it - it looks so cheap and fake the documents that he puts his email address as ajblackwell@consumer1stlaw.com  and it comes back undeliverable!!

*********** THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!! TRUST ME FROM MY OWN MISTAKES - STAY AWAY OR CALL A LEGIT COMPANY *************

    Let my mistake help you!!!

If I happen to actually get a call back from "Attorney" Anthony Blackwell and I do actually get a refund of part of the money I will be the first one to post it on here that I recieved it

    Sara :)
If you are a law firm how come when I called not one person knew Anthony Blackwells bar number - I work with Attorneys in my job daily and I could give you any of theres in a second but the Head Case Specialist Ralphie said he did not know and he put me on hold and said he talked to him assistant Beth and .... are you ready for this .... he said she called Anthonys cell phone and he didnt answer

What assistant or employee that works for a real Attorney does not know there bar number - on Legit Legal paperwork there bar number should be on every paperwork.

They are all a bunch of crazies and they just keep saying they are your friend.

    SCAMMER!!!
