BLOCK THIS NUMBER!
Told them we didn't want anything to do with Global International and hung up. He called back! Cornered them finally on their bad business. Told him we were not going to but a green dot card and call him with the information on the back and he said, "Oh, Ma'am, we don't use the green dot card anymore." Really? So you are admitting that you DID use the green dot system to fraudulently take money from unsuspecting people? "Yes. No. We don't use the card anymore." Then he actually asked me to give him details on how the other callers were asking for money. Not likely, mister! "But we don't use the green dot card anymore because this other company stole our records and used our process!" Yeah. Take me off your list and stop calling! While he was swimming around with questions/statements like, "Don't you want your winnings? " and "You have to email us a letter stating that you don't want to participate" (which gives them access to all of your information, including bank passwords, etc.), I Googled Global International and read him the blurb written by the Better Business Bureau. I do not think he will be calling again!
Bank of America scam
BLOCK THIS NUMBER!
I received a telephone call from 876-295-6540 this morning. Seeing that it was Kingston, Jamaica, I answered the telephone and asked the person on the line to take us off their call list and hung up the telephone. He called back and immediately questioned me on why I would do such a thing as hang up on him! I told them we didn't want any more calls coming from their company insisting that my mother won prize money and telling her to go out and buy a money card in order to prove who she was. He calmly explained that he was from Global International and was reporting a money award for Yvonne Wheeler. He is a Christian and would never do such a thing. As they all have said, I replied. Where is this money coming from? Bank of America! I needed to allow him to fax information to Mom's home so he could prove that he was legitimate. I told him to send it directly tot he local Bank of America if that is who he was from! He cannot do that... no kidding.
Then I cornered him on their bad business. I told him we were not going to but a green dot card and call him with the information on the back and he said, "Oh, Ma'am, we don't use the green dot card anymore." Really? So you are admitting that you DID use the green dot system to fraudulently take money from unsuspecting people? "Yes. No. We don't use the card anymore!" I also let him know that I already called the police about these calls, asked him to take Mom's telephone number off their scam list, and told him I was hanging up and did NOT expect to hear from him again. Let's HOPE he doesn't call back!
The office I work for also received a call from "James Cooper" a couple weeks ago but he was far less coherent that time.
(876) 599-9154 showed up on the caller I.D.
