On Friday afternoon on 11-13-2009, I went to there high pressured membership meeting. They told me how much I would be saving, like 50% on furniture and so on. They didn't tell me about a 30 day membership pass.I was one of those stupid people that signed up. Over the weekend I found out that my mother from another state, was put in a home because she couldn't be taken care of at her home.  On Tuesday 11-17-2009, I called up and tried to cancel my contract, they said the person I needed to speak to is in a meeting.I called them two more times that day and every day after that telling the receptionist of my financial problems. One guy did finally call me back and said he would have to call some finance place, even after I paid for it all on 11-13-2009. I called about once a week after that, even though I knew I was getting put off. I did look on their web site about a month later and I didn't find any good deals at all, or the things I was looking for wasn't there. If you can help I would appreciate it.        Thank-you  Lloyd Lenington

Do not use DBW.  Get extended warranty from directly form the manufacturer even if it costs more.  The verdict is still out on DBW but it seems that they do use smoke and mirrors to avoide paying out.  Also, if you check their website and read the testimonials, you'll notice that the writting style is the same for each one.  This was manufacturer too, I believe.

I'd like to know what claim they didn't deny.  If you look at their claim policy they have you'll see that they have covered themselves so that they don't have to cover a thing.  It states that they can deny so very many things that there is not much that isn't included in the list of what they are allowed to deny.  So, I'd like to know what they covered for you.  They denied my claim when my timing chain went and then destroyed the engine.  Do you think they should have covered that?  I think so.

I have a problem with my vehicle as well and direct buy agrees that it would normally be a covered claim but due to the lack of time i have had the policy they say the damage was preexisting. A service contract is simply a insurance policy, if i buy car insurance and the day later i have an accident its covered. This service contract should work the same. I have made several attempts to contact DBW about my claim and have never recived a call back. Thus I will be doing as follows.

PLEASE EVERYONE THAT HAS A NON COVERED CLAIM THAT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF YOUR POLICY. PLEASE EMAIL ME AT SDIMELAIDOUT@YAHOO.COM   I HOPE TO BE STARTING A CLASS ACTION SUITE AGAINST DIRECT BUY AUTO WARRANTY.

Legal Guy, A Service contract is NOT LIKE OR SIMPLY IN ANY WAY AN INSURANCE POLICY. I don't know where you get your facts from but you are terribly mistaken. For your knowledge, an accident just happens so yes a car insurance policy will cover an accident. A service contract does not cover pre-existing claims of any kind. Just because you purchased a service contract DOES NOT MEAN YOUR COVERED NO MATTER WHAT. You can look for coverage today, have problem with your vehicle and that problem may not turn into an issue for another 45 days so yes that it is pre-existing because the problem did not happen during the term of coverage. You may be in coverage but the problem was already there.

Lil, Your timing chain did not destroy your engine. Your engine died with less than less then 60,000 miles on it. In no way is that defined normal. No engine dies that young unless it is not properly taken care of.

If anyone has a concern or an issue with the vehicle service contract they have purchased, please contact me. I would more than like to know about it and help in any way possible. You can email me at ABardman@directbuywarranty.com.

Allan I am glad I found your information.  I have currently had my contract terminated by your company.  I have been without a car for over 1 week and a half.  It took me 2 days to get a hold of someone to get my car towed to my mechanic the following day they got the estimate.  It then took 4 days do get someone to say that my claim is being denied because it was a commercial vehicle which is absolutely not true.  I have a company car and use my vehicle for pleasure use only.  I then spoke to Mr. Watson which he told me reason my claim is being denied is because I asked for my contract to be terminated or at least that is the understanding your representatives got.  Then then want to issue me a refund which does not cover the cost that I have paid to your company.  It is clear to me that I have read the service contract and that your company does not want to stand by it and therefore cancelled my contract.  I would love to speak to you personally feel free to call me at any time.  jcabral25@yahoo.com

The Direct Buy Auto Warranty located at 402 Main Street, Metuchen, NJ 08840 - 1-888-865-4484, is a scam operation.  I purchased a policy on 01/27/2010, made a down payment of $500.00 and agreed to pay $119.33 a month for one year - total cost would have been $1932.00.  During the first month the heat/air blower went out on my car, I waited until I had been on board for over a month before I submitted the claim.  The repair shop that submitted the claim was to high so Direct Buy told me to get a second repair shop which I did and Direct Buy still said it was to high; however, Frank Watson (of Direct Buy) said they would allow $300.00 for the repair.  I had the blower replaced and sent them a copy of the bill and bank statement showing that  the bill had been paid.  Direct Buy said they would credit my account for the $300.00 and I would not pay anything until the $300.00 had been recovered.  The very next day Direct Buy took $119.33 from my checking account, this is when I decided to cancel my policy.  I wrote Mary Wheeler (of Direct Buy) a letter on March 24, 2010 informing Direct Buy I desired to cancel policy number VSC 508523 and would like for them to refund my monies.  Since that time I have not been able to contact either Mary Wheeler or Frank Watson, I have tried calling, E-Mailing and even written letters; however, no one will return my calls and/or answer the E-Mails or letters.  I have tried to contact them for over two (2) months now, at least 20 times; but, no luck.  I guess I am lucky to get out when I did and not pay any more money.  Direct Buy has not put out any money and all I want is my money back, I feel sorry for others customers who may be in this scam operation and are subject to put out unknown amounts of money.  My name is Ronald D. Houston and I live at 5521 W. Sunnyside Dr., in Glendale, Arizona 85304, phone number is 623-334-9597 and my FAX number is 623-486-1872.  Please let me know that you received this message and thank you for your support in advance.  Best Regards,  Ron Houston

    Hi Allen:

I submitted  a complaint yesterday; however, it does not appear on the screen for anyone to reply.  I also re-tired from a large company located in New Jersey and I still have a lot of friends located there.  I plan to submit a message to everyone in the NJ location requesting my messaged be sent to at least 10 people outside the company, this message should reach at least 100,000 homes within a week.  If you have any power over the Direct Buy Auto Warranty located in New Jersey, I suggest you contact them and let them know it would be in their best interest to Refund my money.  Thank you in advance for your support.
