I found out that a charge of $39.95 was charged to my credit card.  I did not request a membership into this web sight.  I want to have my name removed and my money refunded.

ANC*Archives is actually the website Archives.com.  Their phone number is 1-888-896-4442.  If you call them, they are usually pretty quick to help you cancel and refund charges.

My 14 year old had this charge on his bank statement -- apparently he was trying to do research for a school project and signed up for this service (the 30-dayfree-trial) thru Ancestory.com in 2012.  I called the number on the bank statement, the guy was able to verify the person that my son was researching and then he promptly offered a full refund and to cancel the membership.  We also called the bank to put a watch out for any further debits from them.  The guy from Ancestory appeared helpful....will see when the money is refunded.

This company is a rip off. When I tried to cancel their services,  a young lady or whomever she was tried to make it seem like my fault. I did not see where there was  a phone number to cancel. I am on fixed budget. I can't  go over what I have. Nothing is for free, nothing.

I have the same thing but mine is only for $7.95. I guess they don't like me as much.

I just want to add my distrust with this bunch.  I have canceled my credit card, and had a new card issued and flagged as no more charges, but am stuck with the current renewal payment.  There are many other services available to do as well or better than this site and make it much easier to understand that charges will be made, automatically, to your credit card or checking account.  I suggest that if you have used this service that you call them and confirm that you are not on automatic renewal.  Although it is a questionably legal, it is just another way to get ahold of your credit card.  There number is 888-896-4442.

When I found out Ancestry and Archives were the same company I was pissed off. They are letting people think they are separate companies.I got on the phone and asked BRANDON at 11:45 or so on June 27,2013.Are they the same company and he said ahh yeh, sister company. The time and date is important to me.Now I'm calling my bank,to see what I can do.

Most fraudulent company ever.  I had a 7 day free trial over a year ago.  Canceled it and then was charged this year.  Did not notice the charge for a few months and they won't refund, even though they can see that I have not accessed their website since May8, 2012.  When there is a class action law suit against them, I'm in!!!!

I called the number 1-888-896-4442. After a short wait I was greeted by a representative that told me I had used their services. She even reminded me of the person I was trying to find. She gave me a cancellation number and she told me I could continue to use the service until my user date ended. The bank took 7.95 out and I too did not know who ANC.Archives was, but now that I do and I used the site, I can say in my case the company was legit.
