Home Loan Modification Scam
Complaint
Mickey Orr
Country: United States
I spoke with a B***** M****** who assured me that I could lock in a 3.25% interest rate along with a substantially reduced payment. I made $2,500 in payments to Roosevelt Law firm who was supposed to furnish Chase Bank with information and documentation on my behalf. I cancelled final payment ($1,000) when I discovered I was not eligible for the interest rate quoted "off the record." I spoke with N**** E******* at Roosevelt and she was dismayed to learn what i had told her and promised a refund of my $2,500 less any billable hours they needed to charge. i received nothing and my subsequent voice messages for N**** E******* have gone unreturned.
Comments
All the comments written on January 22nd were made from an IP address from India. It is obvious either a competitor of HPA or a past employee who is very angry and revengeful has written all the negative comments. I am not biased to HPA or any of the commentators, however it is obvious a past employee has a vendetta against this company.
A, we have NEVER had a client, or consumer or case with this name.
B, the fake complaint was done by a big fan of the Godfather movie franchise.
C, this was either done by an employee of the many banks that we go after to protect our homeowners, or a past employee that was terminated due to work ethic or not meeting our strict compliance requirements.
Wise online reviewers will know that it takes years to build the 99% positive reputation we have, and mere minutes for someone to hide behind a fake name and computer and try to ruin it.

The above says:
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, wants you to know THAT THERE IS A RULE IN PLACE TO PROTECT HOMEOWNERS! The Mortgage Assistance Relief Services (MARS) Rule (also known as Regulation O) makes it ILLEGAL for companies to collect any fees until a homeowner has actually received an offer of relief from his or her lender and accepted it. That means even if you agree to have a company help you, you don't have to pay until it gets you the result you want.
HPA (Homeowner Protection Alliance) uses an their 'outside' attorney (Roosevelt Law Firm) are in collusion to defraud most of the homeowners they deal with.
FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE FTC (Federal Trade Commission)!!
FILE A COMPLIANT WITH THE BBB (Better Business Bureau)!!!!
TAKE THEM TO COURT, SUE, GET YOUR MONEY BACK!
I too was taken by them when I was severely ill and relied on them thinking they were legit. My lender even told me I was getting scammed (and it took me awhile after that even to realize how I had been defrauded).
These guys are all crooks and will be put behind bars once they get what is coming too them...
Fake complaint.

Action. I am
Now having to start over on a modification agreement with my mortgager after paying in 5000 to Roosevelt Law Firm! This should be against the law!
You contacted us in October 2015 in foreclosure WITH a sales date, by DECEMBER 5th 2015 our law firm secured you a loan modification, protected your home and you thanked us. You were supposed to begin making your new lowered payments on January 1st. You on your own, responsible for your own life and payments, failed to make the payments for March and April and fell behind.
Shame that you did not disclose this information in your statement above. I am sure the readers would have liked to have known all the facts.
I could disclose all the details of your case, however I respect your privacy and will not. However it is important that the facts be known. Your post above is malicious, slanderous and our law firm could take legal action against you. However we take pride in helping homeowners, not adding to their difficulties.
Either way, I am always available to talk via email or phone.

Lawyers may not reveal oral or written communications with clients that clients reasonably expect to remain private. A lawyer who has received a client’s confidences cannot repeat them to anyone outside the legal team without the client’s consent. In that sense, the privilege is the client’s, not the lawyer’s—the client can decide to forfeit (or waive) the privilege, but the lawyer cannot.
The privilege generally stays in effect even after the attorney-client relationship ends, and even after the client dies. In other words, the lawyer can never divulge the client’s secrets without the client’s permission, unless some kind of exception (see below) applies. (United States v. White, 970 F.2d 328 (7th Cir. 1992); Swidler & Berlin v. United States, 524 U.S. 399 (1998).) I hope you get sued for everything!
YOU, YOURSELF, decided not to accept the loan modification because you did not want to start making mortgage payments after years of not paying.
I wish you had also mentioned this above in your "complaint". I am sure other readers would have loved to know the exact reasons why you did not accept the modification our law firm secured for you from the hard work of our staff.
Either way, I can be reached for any questions. I am sure you are still in this home and still not making payments. We can still help you if you need the assistance.
God Bless,
Craig Goodwin
