Annoying phone calls
Complaint

Country: United States
Ok, the number 702-520-1131 keeps frigging calling my phone and when I pick up it's an automated voice that says "This is the last warning that your factory auto insurance is going to run out" or something. I hang up every time because our auto insurance is fine. I have no idea where they got my number from but I want them to stop calling me.

They are starting to call my cell phone and it costing me money.
PLEASE TELL THIS PEOPLE TO STOP CALLING AS I START RECORDING AND KEEPING RECORDS OF THEIR CALL TO MY PHONES AND WILL SUIT THEM FOR CAUSING ME TO HAVE A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. If I want to continue with my vehicle warranty, I would have call them and REQUEST AN EXTENSION
One other thing is to get this on a talk radio show and have everybody try to go to the website at the same time and bring it crashing down.
It seems the Obama machine can't stop this. As others, I'd like to get the e-mail address of the person that gave out my number so I could sign him up on the porn boards.
As Jessica say's, nice try.
STOP CALLING!!

As you know, I work for TM Caller ID, LLC. We provide caller ID services for call centers (telemarketers, political campaigns, collections agencies, not-for-profit campaigns, surveyors, etc). Since you were wondering why TM Caller ID "doesn't know about this forum", I'm taking the time to explain and demonstrate why we do not value the information posted in places such as this. We tend to ignore these forums as they are often full of misinformation (people make a lot of assumptions about who is to blame, especially when they are annoyed - I do it, everyone does it). People claim to be on the DNC when they are not. People claim some party called them when they really have no idea who it was. People think that the DNC prohibits non-profit and political groups from calling them when it does not.
Taking for example, your own complaint which you called and emailed us about this morning:
1) you are not on the National DNC registry. I checked the phone number you provided at http://www.donotcall.gov and it's not listed.
2) We do not provide consumer numbers to telemarketers.
3) We do not "switch the numbers" for telemarketers, whatever that means. I don't assume you know anything about how the PSTN works, and clearly you shouldn't either.
4) You completely misquoted David (I sit at a desk next to him). He stated that yours was the first complaint of the day (it was, as David had arrived only minutes earlier).
As you can see, first of all, you have nothing to complain about (except perhaps to your neighbors). You are not on the National DNC registry. This means that everyone and their brother is allowed to legally call you about any matter they see fit.
Secondly, you provided patently false information about what "they" (meaning TM Caller ID, LLC, I assume) do.
I highly recommend you spend less time venting on forums and instead take a few minutes to get yourself on the National DNC registry at http://www.donotcall.gov. It's not perfect but it does greatly reduce the number of calls and, more importantly, it gives validity to your claims if you decide to take the legal action against the company who called you.
Also, you should know that calling and abusing David, our compliance manager, is not a good way to get a complaint resolved. TM Caller ID emphatically DOES NOT make phone calls nor generate/provide consumer phone lists, therefore TM Caller ID is not legally responsible to handle your complaint. We do it as a *voluntary* service to help keep our clients responsible and to make sure that all utilization of our services is legal. Nevertheless, ultimately it is the call center who is legally liable, since they actually placed the call, not us, so threats of legal action are little more than annoying, and yelling and abuse will simply result in the termination of the call (as you discovered).
I hope this information was helpful, and I do encourage anyone who receives what they believe are illegal calls from TM Caller ID-owned numbers to contact David and lodge a complaint. This is the only means we have for finding out about such activity and we actually appreciate (and take action on) the information. Not to mention, it keeps David employed, and he's actually a nice guy if you're not screaming at him.
Regards,
Cliff Wells
