Same thing happened to me except it was an unknown number so I can't block it. I asked how he got my number and he said "You won the Megamillions so I have your number". I told him not to call anymore and his response was to yell "F*** You" and hang up.

Got at call stating that we won 2.5 million and a Mercedes Benz. When I asked him for the company information. Phone number address and website the only thing he was able to give is a number that doesn't work. He said he was calling from New York but my call I'd brought up Jamaica 1876-4863952

I received a call from James Antonio Adams, claiming to be with the FTC.  His phone # is 301-375-5095.  He told me I won $2.5 million.  The next day I had won a house and a car in addition.  When I said I did not want the house or the car, I was to win $17.3 million.  Unfortunately, I believed the "persistent" caller and send money.  I have refused to send any more money, and I have blocked his #.  As far as the rest of the "876" #s I have received calls from, I tell them I am NOT paying anything to win something.

I got a call from a Frank  Martin, who claimed to work for publishers clearing house and Mega Millions. He told me that I had won $585,000 after tax. I was then instructed to go to the nearest Wal-Mart and purchase a GREEN DOT MONEY PACK STRATCH CARD, which had 14 numbers on the back. this card cost $499 dollars, and is suppose to pay for a GOLD SEAL STAMP OF APPROVAL, which would be placed on the check , so that it could be delivered by UPS. Oh yeah, there was a car too. This men spoke with  an accent too.

Got a call this morning, 27 Apr 2013 - telling me I had won 3.5 mega million - I just laughed at him - told him he really didn't know what he was talking about - I went along with him - he wanted to know if there was a Walgrens and buy two $500.00 dollar red dot cards - and I would get the 3.5 million - told him I'd be there at 2 o'clock - (should have called the police, I guess) - anyway, at 1:30 he called me back and asked me if I was on my way - I told him I wasn't going - that I knew it was a scam, that I had called Walgrens and they knew nothing about anything like that; I also told him I had reported him - he wanted to know what I had asked Walgrens - I just told him I knew it was a scam and I hung up. Could not believe it, but he called back - I never asked his name but he had a Jamaican accent or Afro-American accent - sounded really distinguished - the phone number was 876-390-6854.

I just got a call from them.  They said that I had won 2.5 million dollars and a new benz ( my choice of color).  The phone number was 1 876 430-3218.  The man, last name Washington, told my I had to call the claims dept at 1876 430 3210 and gave me a confromation number (005577).  The "claims dept" told me I had to go to CVS and give him 399 dollars.  When I said that I could not afford that, the claim dept guy kept saying all this stuff about what a great opperunity this was and how Jesus and himself wanted me to have this money.  He was really trying to play on my emotions by talking about my kids, family, wife and Jesus.  I play along at first but, hung up on him when he asked for money.

Got a call and fax from David Butler, saying I won 2.5 million, a 500,000 bonus, and a 2013 Mercedes Benz, all because I pay my utilities on time.  Said he's calling from Las Vegas, but 206 area code is in Seattle.  Wanted 1,505.00 loaded on a Green Dot Moneypak Scratch card.  Same scam as everyone else.

Thank goodness for this site.  Just got a call from "John" similar to other other calls reported with 3
million $ prize.  VERY persistent accented person, hard to understand, kept appologizing.  Was almost crying at my scepticism and refusal to provide 'confirming' info.  I kept him on the phone long enough to check out 'mega millions scams' on Internet and read these posts.  I think this scam happened to my Uncle last year and he sent a lot of money but would never tell us what happened.  Evil lives in the world.  I finally told the guy I knew he was bogus and hung up.

876-581-5389 is the birth of the guy that called me.
And it's the sixth call on two weeks.  I told the guy they were not getting any of my money with their scam and to please just leave me alone!

I was just called, twice, by a Marcus Desire. He has a very strong foreign accent and told me I had won 1.5 million dollars in mega millions, because I either paid my bills on time or shopped at stores such as CVS, Walgreens, Wal-mart, etc. He told me I had two options to receive this money: Publicly or privately and 1. buy a plane ticket to NY and a limousine would be waiting to take me to a "special" place to pick it up, or 2, the insurance, shipping and handling of $500, giving him information to receive the money. I told him this was a scam but he kept assuring me that it was all legitimate. I hung up on him once and he called right back. The number he called from, according to the reverse phone number look-up, was a legitimate business number in NY 917-231-1972. He said he was sure I would call him back when I'm able to get the money together, and I said I wouldn't be calling. I don't know how he got through my call blocking, but somehow he did. I'm sure it is a scam because if I was to have winnings, I would not have to pay someone to receive it! I'm a retired, disabled widow and I believe they prey on people like me, who are gullible, which I am not, and which is why I'm entering my message on here.

I just got the call from someone claiming I won $2.5 million just because I shopped at Walmart and used my debit/credit card. He was very hard to understand, but wanted to give me my Confirmation Number so that when UPS came to my home I would have to give them the number; I told him I never entered the MegaMillions contest, but he insisted that I was a winner.  I knew it was a scam right away, and he was surprised that I asked so many questions. He even said that everyone else was very excited to learn about the million dollars.I hung up. Shortly after, another call came in, the number was 876-568-8118 in Jamaica, and it was then that I was told to go to Walmart to get a $377 Green Dot card - When I told him I wouldn't do that he said he would find someone to "sponsor me".  I hung up again. I will be reporting them to the FBI. I just feel sorry for the people who fall victim to these scams.

Just received a phone call from a guy identifying himself as Tony Edwards with a foreign sounding accent.  He claimed he was with Mega Million Co Limited and I had won $3.5 mil plus $50,000 cash and a 2013 Mercedez Benz.   He gave a number of 707-666-9803, which when you do a reverse lookup, it is a cell phone number.
He wanted me to send $550 to pay the taxes, which would be a lot more than $550.
    Don't fall for this scam!!!

So I got a call from this number and decided to piss the guy off. It took about 7 mins, but I pissed him off bad enough he was threatening to kill me. Yeah I'm sure I can press charges but I'm not worried about some Jamaican flying all the way to Hawaii to kill me. His said his real name was "Johnny the killer." Hahaha

My mother and grandmother got the same call from a Reverend Mark White and a Dennis Jackson.  They won $5.5 Million and a Mercedes "What color would you like?"  Made them go to Walgreens and get a reload card.  Tried to get a total of $700 dollars from them at first.  Said they were "at the airport" waiting to leave and bring the check and car.  Faxed them a copy of the check and everything.  Of course, they didn't pay them the full amount, but did pay a small amount.  Of course the money is gone. Of course they keep calling asking for more.  Don't fall for it!  SCAM SCAM SCAM!  Beware of their manipulation tactics.  They call and call and call.  Hang up, call the FTC make a complaint.
