I received a call from an Indian accent man named Patrick Smith telling me that I have been selected for a good citize grant of 7,000. He said that the government pick 2,000 people to good  citizens who don't have a felony. He asked me what would I use the money for so I told him i'm going to pay my rent and put some money on my car. This man, told me I can't use it on alcohol  or gambling. I told him did you hear what I was using the money for? Did I say anything about gambling or alcohol? The man was quite, so he went on about do I have a bank account I told him no then he ask do I have a credit card so the money can go on it, I said no so then he asked if I was near a western union so I can pick up the money I said yes I know where one is. Then he told me that I need $250.00 a one time transaction fee and the money will go to the red cross. So I told him I don't have the money so he said get it from somebody and when you do call this number and give them your confirmation number which he had gave me. I look up the address he gave me click on a link and it said fraud alert call this number and report it and that's what I did. so the next day so call Patrick Smith from Indian with an American name call me back and asked me did I call and setup my account so I can get my money I told him no this is a fraud he told me no it's not he gave me what he call his I.D. Number. So he gave me a 202 number to call and ask for Jennifer Lopez can yall believe that!!!!!!!!!! I ask him how are you in Washington but calling me from a New York number? He couldn't answer. After I got off the phone with him I tried to call the number he call me from back and it says this is not a working number. Just be careful with things like this. Tell your family and friends about this scam and if your not sure about it look it up. Thank you for reading my story.

I just received this same call but it was for $8400 for being a good citizen by paying my taxes on time and not declaring bankruptcy.  DC number (202)666-3431.  Indian accent reading from a card from what I can tell.  When asked a question he would read me the exact same thing over and over from the card.  Didn't let him finish his rap and hung up on him.

I just got this call. The guy with an Indian accent told me that I'd received a Good Citizens Grant for $9,000. I knew it was a scam from the beginning, so I decided to have some fun with the guy. First I acted all excited...."Oh wow....dreams really do come true! $9,000 ....I'm sooo excited and sooo surprised." So the guy tells me that I can't use it for gambling, drugs, or alcohol and wanted to know what I would use the money for. I told him I would build a castle. He seemed dumbfounded by my answer and asked me to repeat it again. So I told him I was going to build a pretty pink castle, with flags and a drawbridge. (KMSL at this point) So he tries to persuade me that this money is the best thing that has ever happened to me and will only come around once in a lifetime. I turned the tables on him and got mad....you said it was my GD money and I can use it for whatever the F I want and I want a MFing Castle you prick". Even after my over the top hostility the guy is still trying to make his pitch. Finally, I told him that.." I work to GD hard for my money for him to be calling trying to sucker me out of it". I ended the call by telling him I hope he has a slow fall to hell and to get off my GD phone. (At least for 3 minutes I gave him hell and had a good laugh and that was 3 minutes he wasn't scamming someone else.)

I just got the same call and I am now crushed! Thankfully I did my research before I took any action. I received the call saying that I was approved for a $7,500 government grant for paying my taxes on time, not being a felon and never claiming brankrupcy. I was so excited because I just applied for financial aid to go back to school but was put on a waiting list. I thought my prayers had been answered because I could actually go back to school, catch up on EVERYTHING I am behind on and actually be okay. I am a single mother making $9.50 an hour with absoutely no help. I cannot believe this S%&*!!!!! I cannot believe that people can play with other peoples emotions and hardships . Something has to be done about this. Please tell everyone you know so this does not happed to you or a loved one.

I just got the same call from a D.C. cell phone: 202-706-3461. It was a woman with an oriental accent. When I told her this sounded fishy and asked if she could send me an email or a letter, I heard disappointment in her voice immediately, but she replied, sure, she could do that, thanked me, and hung up. She told me it was for being a good citizen for 30 years with good credit, no bankruptcies, etc.  I was getting just under $7,000. Maybe their money is running low. LOLOL Is there a place to report people using their phones for scamming purposes?

A man with Indian accent called from 202-210-0054 and said I was to receive a Goldman Grant for $9000. I told him I hadn't applied for a grant he must have the wrong number. He said he realized I hadn't applied because this grant was a once-in-a-lifetime for 15,000 individuals who never filed for bankruptcy nor convicted of any felonies. I felt it was probably a scam but curious enough to listen. He said the money couldn't be used for alcohol or drugs but could be used for almost anything good. He then asked what would I do with it? I told him I'd use it to pay debts. He said very good and he would transfer the money to my account in 40-45 minutes. I needed to provide my bank info or credit card. I told him I was at work, didn't have information for either on hand so just mail a check to me. He couldn't do that because Goldman had stipulated it be a wire transfer. I asked for a number I could call him back after work but he insisted he phone me. If he phones back I'll tell him I changed my mind about spending the money on debts and decided to spend it on prostitutes!

OH MAN I just got this call from a 202-640-5461  the indian man wouldn't tell me his name or the name of the lady I needed to call. The funny thing is he said you are approved for a 7,500 grant because you paid your taxes on time and no criminal record. Its funny because I haven't had a job is 2 years!!!!! so how could I pay my taxes on time if I haven't filed them.
