I received a call from an Indian accent man named Patrick Smith telling me that I have been selected for a good citize grant of 7,000. He said that the government pick 2,000 people to good  citizens who don't have a felony. He asked me what would I use the money for so I told him i'm going to pay my rent and put some money on my car. This man, told me I can't use it on alcohol  or gambling. I told him did you hear what I was using the money for? Did I say anything about gambling or alcohol? The man was quite, so he went on about do I have a bank account I told him no then he ask do I have a credit card so the money can go on it, I said no so then he asked if I was near a western union so I can pick up the money I said yes I know where one is. Then he told me that I need $250.00 a one time transaction fee and the money will go to the red cross. So I told him I don't have the money so he said get it from somebody and when you do call this number and give them your confirmation number which he had gave me. I look up the address he gave me click on a link and it said fraud alert call this number and report it and that's what I did. so the next day so call Patrick Smith from Indian with an American name call me back and asked me did I call and setup my account so I can get my money I told him no this is a fraud he told me no it's not he gave me what he call his I.D. Number. So he gave me a 202 number to call and ask for Jennifer Lopez can yall believe that!!!!!!!!!! I ask him how are you in Washington but calling me from a New York number? He couldn't answer. After I got off the phone with him I tried to call the number he call me from back and it says this is not a working number. Just be careful with things like this. Tell your family and friends about this scam and if your not sure about it look it up. Thank you for reading my story.

I got a call from a man with a strong Indian accent about a $9000 grant and knew it was a scam, but decided to play along.  He said he was born in D.C., but now lives in New York.  I sarcastically told him I detected a NY accent. I told the guy I couldn't give him my real name because I'm in the witness protection program, and don't have a bank account because I don't trust banks. I kept telling him that I couldn't pay the $250 fee to "registrate" the transaction, and I suggested various ways for this to be paid. He said "I've told you over 10 times now that you have to do this." After 20 minutes or so, I finally called him out about scamming people, and asked if he was really calling from India.  He said "I've never heard of this India before now."  He offered me a job, asked if I wanted a date with him, called me an [***], and hung up. He was the most persistent scam artist I've ever encountered.

    Hahaha same
202 255 9662 and 914 303 6548 ok so I usually don't give these guys the time of day but I could not help my self when "Tony Adams" the Hindu man called me and told me I was selected by the fed government for a grant of $7000  I told him it was a scam he told me that if I thought it was then I should call the police and give them his number LOL he tried to get me to buy an iTunes card and said that because North Carolina there's not a tax free state that my iTunes card would take care of the taxes that I would pay on the $7,000 I would never give him my bank account information my social security number or anything remotely close to that the only information I gave him to tag along was my zip code if you ask me I think I federal government use to get rid all these foreigners with fake names LOL

I had the same call today.  Everyone gets a once in a life-time grant for being a good citizen of $9,200.  It will be sent to the closest MoneyGram or Western Union location.  I was told that I just needed to pay $300 for a registration card, but once I pay it, I will receive $9,500.  I would therefore get my $300 back.  I was given a number to call once I reach the MoneyGram location so that the person could walk me through what to do.  The number was 206-472-6013, Extension 173 (Isabel).  :-

So unfair!  People trying to scam the innocent.  Annoying and unfair!!

I've been getting a call about this as well.   A guy that sounds like he's from India keeps calling from an unknown number, and keeps saying that I've gotten $9,000 for being a good citizen.    My husband has answered once and has told him not to call back, I've told him twice that it sounds too good to be true, but he still keeps calling.

This is still going on, but their getting smarter. They knew my name even how to spell it. My last name is easily misspelled. They are still using the same reasons for winning. So yes please everyone be careful. Scammers are real!!

    Oh come on now
I just had a similar call, my grant was supposed to be for $8500, I hung up and he called back... So I asked him why did he hang up, he told me they were having technical difficulties (lol), so after listening to the script.. He asked me to verify my information... He already had my name and address... So long told him the wrong age, now he is just going along with everything I say. Until I say "I'm not comfortable giving out such information on the phone ; mail me your questions... At this he became disturbed asking me if I wanted to forfeit my grant.... By now I'm tired of playing on the phone and just hang up.
Remember anything to go to be true is usually a scam.... Please check it out before proceeding. Good luck out there, it's a cruel world.

i got a 206 number offering 9,000 dollars in grant money and the 2 people I talked to claimed that it was from a survey for people who didn't have felonies, pay their bills on time and all that . weird thing is they knew my name and phone number but not my bank info and then they said I have to go to a money gram place pay 250 dollars for a federal reserve card one time only and then that they would wire the money to my account. they said also that this was to avoid tax because they knew that this not a tax free state ...I am really confused and I am only 19 so I am very confused anyone have any advice?
