Thom Mcan Shoes from K-Mart

I purchased a pair of Thom Mcan shoes from my local K-mart last week. This is the first pair of Thom Mcan that I have ever purchased. I wore the shoes two days last week and two or three days this week. I looked at the heel of the shoe today and it is coming apart from the actual shoe.

I paid $24.99 for this pair of casual work shoes and did not expect to only be able to wear them a couple of times. I would expect that buying a pair of "off brand" shoes at Payless, but not a pair of Thom Mcan's. I have heard so many positive things about the shoes and how comfortable they are, which I do agree with the comfort, but am disappointed in the make.

I do not know if maybe I received an "abnormal" pair or is this what is to be expected from your company. I would appreciate any assistance in this matter.

I THINK YOU GUYS ARE FULL OF [***].THEM MCAN S ARE THE BEST ON THE MARKET, IVE BEEN WEARING THEM FOR YEARS,AND I AM ROUGH ON SHOES, MCANS LAST A YEAR WEARING THEM EVERYDAY ALL DAY, TRY THAT WITH ANYTHING ELSE, ABOUT THE ONLY OTHERS THAT YOU CAN WEAR A YEAR IS SAS SHOES, BUT THEY ARE 130 BUCKS A PAIR ON SALE, SO GO FIGURE

(PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS) . JUST LIKE WITH THE FIRESTONE AND BRIDGESTONE TIRES AS AN EXAMPLE, SOME OF THE BEST TIRES EVER MADE BUT WHEN YOU PUT THEM ON A 6,000 LB CAR AND EXPECT THEM TO GO 80,000 MILES , DRIVING AT 80 MPH, IT JUST WONT WORK, ANYTHING IN AN IDIOTS HANDS WILL FAIL JUST BECAUSE YOUVE GOT TO USE SOME COMMON SENCE

I have a pair of Thom Mcann casual workshoes with built in gel inserts I bought about a year in a half to two years ago. They are comfortable and held up great. I went to K Mart to buy another pair, and although I found something similar, they were not the same in comfort or quality. I think Thom Mcann must use various vendors that compete for the cheapest labor.
I grew up wearing Thom Mcann's back in the 60's and thought their revival was a good thing, but now I'm not so sure lately.

I purchased a pair of Thom McCann shoes from KMart back in November and have worn them a couple of times a week since then and I am thrilled with the comfort and workmanship.  I have no problems with the heals or stitching.  I would buy another pair if I ever see them again to have when these do wear out.  I love them.

I worked at the "real Thom Mcan for a decade. The company was based in Worcester MA, and sold a good product. The company went out of business in the early 90s and the name was sold to Footstar. The product is very different and sold at Kmart. And sears. Nothing is what it used to be

Folks, do you realize that this shoe company has long since been converted into other businesses?  As for "quality", vendors are responsible for their product.  Keep your receipts and re-visit the particular K-Mart you purchased from.  They should be able to help you.  Remember that items are made in "bulk" and that inferior products come from inferior people who don't truly care about what a "name" brand means.  K-Mart is only doing what they have to stay a-float.

I don't work for either of the companies.  I just think people should inspect their purchases a little closer and stop blaming others for  something that goes wrong.  True, this may be the case of poor workmanship, however, take the time to think about what your purchasing and at what price.  Realize that quality doesn't always exist at any price, especially, a very low price.  You gotta take the good with the bad; you wouldn't purchase a car at a very low price without checking it out first nor would you expect it to be top of the line because of the name it carries.  Be smarter and more aware and you'll have and continue to have good, if not great, purchases.  Buyer beware or buyer be smart.  You decide.

I have nothing but good things to say about Thom mcan shoes I have not had any quality problems with these shoes. My wife used to work at K-Mart in the shoe dept. And believe me K-Mart has a very liberal retutn policy .If you have quality issues with these shoes , return them to K-Mart

I bought a pair of Thom McAn tennis shoes in Aug of 2001 and still wearing them. In fact I have three differnet styles of Thom McAn shoes and none of them are coming apart.
Now you just look at the label where they are made and that speaks volumes about quality.
We did it to ourselves people, we the people demanded cheap products and now we have them.
    Have a good day.
