Thom Mcan Shoes from K-Mart

I purchased a pair of Thom Mcan shoes from my local K-mart last week. This is the first pair of Thom Mcan that I have ever purchased. I wore the shoes two days last week and two or three days this week. I looked at the heel of the shoe today and it is coming apart from the actual shoe.

I paid $24.99 for this pair of casual work shoes and did not expect to only be able to wear them a couple of times. I would expect that buying a pair of "off brand" shoes at Payless, but not a pair of Thom Mcan's. I have heard so many positive things about the shoes and how comfortable they are, which I do agree with the comfort, but am disappointed in the make.

I do not know if maybe I received an "abnormal" pair or is this what is to be expected from your company. I would appreciate any assistance in this matter.

If your statement is true tell me how come your PC hasn't fallen apart.

I've been buying them for years also.  My only lament is that they hold up so well for me, when I go to buy another pair, the particular style I'd bought before's been replaced by another model.  They've always been the sturdiest, cheapest, best-looking and *most comfortable* work/dress shoes I've been able to find, and I have to do a *lot* of walking in my job.  They're the only shoes I've been able to find with absolutely no chafe-causing, blister-producing break-in period.  I could definitely believe, however, that some batches might be poor or inferior, if indeed they source them from third parties or perhaps switched vendors for some particular component.  I've not been so unlucky though, all my Thom McAns have been top-quality shoes.  If I did have one fall apart I'd definitely dig up my receipt and take it back.  And like someone else said, c'mon - they're 20 or 30 bucks!

I was wearing my new Thom Mcan shoes at Safeway today and a lady walked all the way across the store to ask me where I got those shoes!  I said KMart and she was amazed.  So she said "I thought they were $150 shoes and you only paid $24!"  I said, "No, I only paid $14.00"

I used to buy Thom McAn shoes when they were American made.  I also liked Leed's and Chandler's shoes as you could get AAAA, AAA, AA, A,B,C, or D widths.  Now your lucky to even fid a B.  Most are "Wide" and "Extra Wide". I wear AA width and its IMPOSSIBLE to find them now in inexpensive shoes.  I end up wearing 2nd had castoffs or putting 2-3 insoles in shoes.  Once I literally "walked out of" my shoes on the street!  The ThomMcAn shoes you see now at K Mart are made in China.  They are crap,in my opinion.  I went to try to replace some loafers and found they were not the same style or quality and they only had WIDE widths!  What is it with these stores that only cater to big wide feet?  Anyway the good shoes I remember from the past are gone, unless you want to spend $150 or more a pair.  I love shoes made in Spain, Brazil or Italy.  They are so well made and run narrow.  I look for them at the thrift stores.

You probably won't hear from them...There are so many complaints they can't handle them all. The soul of my Thom McAn shoe is falling apart.
I'm going to Home Depot and see if some kind of caulking adhesive will help.

I bought 2 pairs of ThomMcan dress shoes some years ago. The Genuine leather uppers are like new.The man made material made in China consisting of the sole and heels are falling apart. I left pieces of the sole and heel all over the hall at a party. Both pair #06024D 0117 F96 & 03024G 0117 F96 , the soles and heels are falling off in chunks.I have never seen a pair of shoes do this before. How do you get a factory representive to register your complaint?

I purchased a pair of Thom Mccann shoes from K-Mart a year ago. They were a slip on clog type shoe. I like the shoe very well it was a good fit and comforable the only problem is I didn't even wear the shoes for a year and the bottom of the shoe cracked the crack is all the way across the bottom of the shoe and clear through the shoe. I paid $15.00 for the shoe guess you get what you pay for. Would really like another pair. I tried super glueing the bottom BUT didn't work.

I purchased a pair of sandles from K-mart in 2010.  I left my sandles at a hotel in West Virgina.  I LOVED those sandles.  I could wear them every day if it did not get cold in the winter. I have not seen another pair like them anywhere.  The number on the box was 24722 Bettina women's color tan.  If I could order them, I would be extremely happy.  Please contact me and let me know if this style is still being produced.  Thank you

I just read your message about your Thom Mc An  sandals 24722.  I love mine too and they are just worn out.  We're you able to find a place to still buy our favorite sandals?

Please send me an e-mail and let me know......I would really appreciate it!

      Many thanks,

I have had the same bad experience.  i was happy to see Thom McCann shoes at Kmart and expected them to be great.  They were comfortable, but after about 6 weeks they are falling apart.  What a huge disappointment.

Got the same problem. The shoe lasted about a week and start to fall apart when it rains. You know what, there is absolutely no stitch between the lining and outsole! It is all glued together. I may post it to the YouTube.

I bought a pair of Thom Mcann shoes from KMart a few months ago, and I wore them about 3 times or so, and on the side of the shoe is completely coming apart, the thread they used is coming completely coming out of the shoe? Don't they know how to make shoes last anymore? These were only $20, cuz they were on sale.
