Selectyourgifts.com is the worst scam that I have come across. Well, maybe there are more, but these people got me. Apparently, they were sending me a $1000 gift card to buy stuff from their site. I was only going to pay $34.94.
I must admit that i acted without thinking. When I later went to their site, the only so-called gifts available were a bunch of cheap overpriced things that I can buy at the Dollar store!
The deal was that I have to pay the shipping costs which are highly ridiculous. Like, you can purchase a necklace at $20, pay the shipping cost of $ 7. The only problem is, they have no option to unsubscribe, and they will keep getting $34.94 from my account every month.
Anyways, I called them back after three weeks and they claimed that they had sent the gift card two weeks ago.I never received it.I do not know what to do.Someone should stop these people. Not only from getting my money, but from tricking innocent Americans. It is not fair.

Note: The person I spoke to is called Emmanuel and can be reached at 1877 855 4547. Their alternative customer service number is 1 877 855 1115.
Thank you.

OK! I just answered my own question. I went to the site. Choose several items. OVER PRICED ITEMS BY 200-300%!
Once you add up all the SH charges, you could have bought  higher quality items for less. YES THIS IS A SCAM!
Thank goodness I "experimented " AND listened to all of you!
I will not shred this certificate. Instead, I will keep it as a reminder for the next time....

    THANK YOU ALL!

This sure is a scam, received a $100.00 "Shopping Certificate" for these people, and what a joke!  First of all, they don't have a lot of selective choices for the stuff they are selling, and their S&H is outrageous!.  I'm also putting mine thru the paper shredder!!!

My wife and I were given a "$500 Online Gift Certificate" as a perk to attend a New Time Share Sales Promotion. The coupon gave an address of www.selectyourgifts.com for selection of items of clothing and misc. options with the implication that the items were free except for a charge of $5.00 per order for shipping and handling.

We ordered approximately $250 of merchandise, but instead of a charge of $5.00 for shipping and handling, the charge was $120.50. When I called the Mail Order Firm complaining of the charge, I was given a runaround and told that the merchandise was already in transit. Thus I would be charged with a "restocking fee". I called my bank (Bank of America), explained the circumstances, and they said a dispute credit would be processed for the total amount less the shipping and handling of $5.00.

If I had checked for online scam complaints before placing the order, I would not have ordered anything from this firm. In general, beware of deals offering $500 Gift Certificates from anyone.

Guy, I don't know how you linked 423-317-9594 or the other number to Lee or Sheila Parker.  That is not my number.  This is the first we have heard of this scam.  We don't have anything to do with this.  I'd rather not have my name associated with any kind of scam like this.

thank you so much for this rating site!! I had several telephone calls from this agency on yesterday(08/24/11),they laughed as they told me "I was a $1,000.00 gift card winner!!" The lady also told me I'd won several magazine subscriptions that I'd only be obligated to pay $3.85 a week or $16.00 a month for(60-mo.sub.).She reluctantly(when asked) told me I'd have to pay shipping for each item I purchased w/giftcard from the "selectyourgifts.com" website!!! I'm so over these phonies...and wish the BBB would find a better way in stopping this mess. Thank you again for warning others, especially me.

Yeah, i also fell victim to the www/selectyourgift.com scam yesterday. They make it sound like you've won the lottery. But as most things that are to good to be true, this is one of them. They talk super fast and make it sound like the deal of a lifetime. I tryed to take down as many notes as possible as they rambled about charges and monthly rates. Never once did they tell me there was no way to cancel my subscription if i changed my mind. Well I had nightmares about it all night so I decided to call and tell them I wanted to opp out, and low and behold, there telling me u cant cancel without making a $399.00 cancellation fee. So I went ahead and canceled my credit card. Hopefully this puts a stop to the raping I was about to take.. I mean 49.50 for 20 months equals $1000.00, so how am I winning a 1000.00 shopping free?? These people need to be stopped.

Thanks for the messages. From recent experience, I would have sent the redemption voucher and tryed to spend the gift card, but I made sure to see if anybody else got this letter to go to a dealer because your name was in the sweepstakes box. But when people are desperate they fall for anything, and I have been unemployed for 7 months and got desperate. Thank you everyone for the heads up.

I received a phone call today from a lady telling me my name had been selected to receive a $1000.00 visa card that I could use at selectyourgift.com.  as a bonus I would receive 6 magazines of my choice for free for a 30 day free trial then after that it would be $49. They claimed that they had gotten my name from me participating in the pch search engine contest. The weird thing was I talked to 3 different women first a lady named Audrey who was extremely nice who went over my information but had to transfer me to the next woman cause supposedly she was new and had to have her manager verify her customer service and work. I don't remember the second woman's name but she briefly talked about the magazines and how I wouldn't be charged today and if I didn't like it I could unsubscribe. She then transferred me to kelly who told me she just wanted to finalize everything and make sure I understood before she shipped off my package. Before we were done I had to answer like 6 questions ensuring that I authorize and accept the visa card, magazines, personal information and etc. I was really excited about it until I searched selectyourgift.com and realized it was a huge scam. And come to find out this company mountain area as they call themselves had actually taken $49 from my account. So I immediately called my sister since she works at my bank and asked her wat to do since these people now have access to my account. I called the bank and cancelled my debit card and they are disputing the fraudulent charge. So I hope this makes people more aware of scams out there.

Whew, ok so I had got this call from 4233179608 saying that I had won a $1,000 shopping spree from my Visa card company. I'm 18. I love to shop so of course I was wheeled in. Smh. First I was like, ok, I don't understand, but it was my first and LAST fraud experience! It's crazy. No one deserves to be scammed in the hands of ignorance. My main instinct came over me quick soon as I had got off of the phone with them. I came to GOOGLE and seen ALOT of scam reports and complaints and as soon as I seen that, I called my bank. While I was on the phone with my bank, them [***] had took $90-$100 off of my card but thank God that I didn't have that much on my card anyway!! So I cancelled and blocked my account ASAP and just opened me up a new one. Now I have a new debit coming in the mail and TRUST, this sh*t will NEVER EVER happen to me again. The company name is MOUNTAIN AREA COMMUNICATIONS and they mentioned this website www.selectyourgifts.com. LOSERS!
