Selectyourgifts.com is the worst scam that I have come across. Well, maybe there are more, but these people got me. Apparently, they were sending me a $1000 gift card to buy stuff from their site. I was only going to pay $34.94.
I must admit that i acted without thinking. When I later went to their site, the only so-called gifts available were a bunch of cheap overpriced things that I can buy at the Dollar store!
The deal was that I have to pay the shipping costs which are highly ridiculous. Like, you can purchase a necklace at $20, pay the shipping cost of $ 7. The only problem is, they have no option to unsubscribe, and they will keep getting $34.94 from my account every month.
Anyways, I called them back after three weeks and they claimed that they had sent the gift card two weeks ago.I never received it.I do not know what to do.Someone should stop these people. Not only from getting my money, but from tricking innocent Americans. It is not fair.

Note: The person I spoke to is called Emmanuel and can be reached at 1877 855 4547. Their alternative customer service number is 1 877 855 1115.
Thank you.

I am embarrassed to say that I fell for this too. I just spoke with my credit card company (Chase)and they are crediting my account for the charges incurred by these scumbags for the past 3 months and are blocking all further charges from them. They will dispute these charges with the scumbags' bank. I'm not sure that this will take care of it, but I hope that it does. I am planning to contact the BBB about this also.

Hello, they called me yesterday I read your posts today and called them back. I wanted to verify what they told me yesterday. All I can say is there's a huge difference between 12$ and 39$ per month. I told Mary I wasn't going to do the verification and she said that there would be no charges on my card since that verification was refused.(after reading all of your posts! Thanks guys) I appreciate all of you.

They almost got me. Said they were from American Publishers. Lady's name Ashley. First said I won $1000. shopping spree thru using website eatgoodfood.com. She was speaking fast. Said my shopping spree would come from Selectyourgifts.com. For winning, I would only need to pay shipping and handling. They would also be sending me magazines for $3.85 a WEEK for 60 MONTHS. Then she put on her supervisor named Dillon. I had him to go back over what she said since I told him she was speaking to fast. Then he asked that I verify my credit card acct#. I said I don't do that over the phone. Told him I'm not interested. But they did get my age, address from me, and my husband's occupation. Bummer! They almost got me!!! Be careful folks!

So the 1000$ gift certificate is just a scam?

    It Equals
Just to let you know if you do the Math for the Magazines it will equal up to about $1,000.00. So if they call you stating that you have won a &1,000.00 Shopping spree and you have to pay for some magazine (i believe it was $3.85) for 60 months you can honestly say "in 60 months if I saved that much I would have $1,000.00 to spend anywhere. Thank you and have a nice day"

Yup, Just got the call as well. Said i got a 1000$ shopping spree on their web site. I read the entire terms of service and it says its 5$ per order plus shipping and handling for each item. It all sounded very sketchy from the beginning. So i googled it and now see its a scam. Can i get some intell from somebody who actually went through the whole process and tell me the types of items they have for sale on their?

The price of the items and shipping price are the same. You have to pay the shipping cost from a debit, or credit card. This is not a gift card you are paying for the items with the shipping cost out of your debit, or credit card.

I had received a $250 "gift card" from a Chevrolet dealer in north Houston. I really appreciate ALL of everyone's input on this website. To see that it is a SCAM,...these guys are MOST DEFINITELY in trouble with the law. I haven't used my "gift card", and NEVER WILL!! It is being used as evidence. Thanks again, my fellow Americans.

It is a joke, they get away with fraudulent scams and noone does anything.  If you have someone I can contact, I want to report and follow up.  Thnak you.

I got the call today from a 423 number. After I answered, a (so I thought) very nice lady told me I was selected and won a $1,000 shopping spree. I was very excited! And she continued to ask me my address and what my occupation was and then asked my husband's occupation. I started to think it was a little weird but she said it was to "categorize" me. She then switched me over to 2 other ladies. One asked me for my credit card number and when I asked why, she said it was just to make sure that I had a valid account because I needed to pay 49.99 for magazine subscriptions. I then told her I didn't want the magazines and asked if I could pass. She said no because thats the only way I could get my gift card. So, I agreed and the last woman told me I needed to answer 7 questions just for verification. Before the 1st question, I hung up because I didn't want to do it and my husband kept saying it was a scam and they were going to charge me out the ass. She called back 4 times until I answered and I told her I didn't want the offer because I didn't want to be scammed and she told me, "No, no, I promise this isn't a scam. We're not going to charge you anything other for the magazines. We can't charge you anything else, I don't want to go to jail hahaha" She also said that she would give me a discount, even though she wasn't suppose to. So, instead of charging me 49.99, she said I only had to pay 39.99 once and I wouldn't have to pay it until after I got all the paper work. So, I went through with the questions and the phone call ended. Afterwards, I went to my bank and withdrew  all my money from my cash rewards credit card. I came home to check my account because I knew I had more money than I pulled out and they had already took out $60! Within an hour! Not only did she charge me the 49.99 but she also charged me some "benefits" fee of $9. I googled the selectyourgifts.com and found this website. After reading everyones experiences, I freaked out! Right away I called my bank and explained what happened and told them I was stupid for falling for it and they cancelled my card right then and reported them. I have a new card coming in and I have learned my lesson! I should have listened to my husband =( I have no idea where or how they got my number and info in the first place.

    Almost Had
So glad everyone posted.  Just got a call from them in SC. $1,000 shopping spree for five 60 month magazine subscriptions.  Said I was a "preferred customer" of Family Circle.

When I said, "give me a second, I'm trying to figure out if this is even a good deal," she kept pushing me to make a decision.

$4.22/week = $1,020 over the lifetime of the subscription.  Go on to the selectagift.com site and all you get is a screen to log in to.  There's no way to research their "gifts".  Such a scam.

I recieved a mailer yesterday from "Carousel 2 in Iowa City" which is a used car dealership. Had a fancy code, little light up number thingy... An guess what..? I WAS A WINNER!!! LOL! So My wife and I are getting ready to upgrade our vehicle anyway so figured why not. I stopped in, an found that the mailer and the lady I was required to call had lied... My number did not match as said. They did said I qualify for the FREE $250 card... From what I read I VERY MUCH assume this is a SCAM. I have looked into several things and all arrows point to this...

    BEWARE IOWA CITY PEOPLE!!!!

I WILL POST MORE AS I LEARN!!!
