I Have received 2 calls in 2 days at supper time from an individual named Nathan.  He states he is calling from Gallup Poll.  Interestingly, the first night he also stated he was calling from Wells Fargo?

In both instances I have informed him that this is an unlisted number. Also, this number is on the National DoNotCall list since 2003.  In both instances I have demanded he remove us from their list.

In both calls, Nathan has refused to acknowlege or agree to take us off their calling list and also refuses to hang up.  It is necessary to hang up on him.

Is there some sort of scam going on here with Gallup Poll?  Can this person continue to harass us every night at supper time?   What can I do to stop this?

If Wells Fargo employees don't want to lose their jobs from ratings of 4, they should send their bosses to a complaint sight like this one.  Gallup makes Wells Fargo and other clients look very bad at keeping personal information private.  It presents appearances of Identity Theft.  Don't be surprised when customers close their accounts because they can't trust a bank who discloses private matters. Utility and other billing companies don't use customers personal information for "surveys" over the phone.  Perhaps Wells Fargo and other companies could use email or USPS surveys that would be better appreciated and done at our leisure more conveniently and privately.

No we do not! Every tracker I know goes out of their way to say, "do you want to rate that or shall I say it didn't apply?"
We're Gallup trackers. We know what it is like to be manipulated and abused. Look it up, absent the jobs where you can actually die (soldier, fireman, policeman) along with air traffic controllers, ours is the MOST stressful job there is. I wonder what would happen if all those businesses that buy our business plan, including how to reduce turnover, would think if they knew we lose twenty people a month in our smallest center. Exit interviews? Yeah, that would be cool, exept these people just don't show up. There is a lot of good about working for Gallup, not even the managers aren't allowed to acknowledge that there is anything bad. They won't be able to compete in Gen-Y world.
Banks won't exist as we know them, in 10 years. Nor health insurance for profit, nor debt, buying investments. The plebes have had it. We won't break out the guillotines but occupy wallstreet was a warning flag. (albeit from nutjobs) We'll go back to a pre-technology society, or buffet and gates will actually wake up their contemporaries. "give up 12 of your 20 beach houses, or give them all up ala the french revolution, and the corn wars"

Also, every single national/international bank uses Gallup. That's right...ALL of them. Our methadology has never been improved upon and there is not one single instance of identity fraud in gallup's 80 years.
I'll send you my tinfoil hat though. It's very comforting.

Really???  There is no way you could know this about identify fraud or verify this pure bull sh_t on your part...  It if very obvious Gallup and Wells Fargo have little to no clue about what their customers want nor do they care what they customers say about this blatant breach of duty to protect one's privacy...

I think this needs saying again...  The bank (Wells Fargo) has a fiduciary duty to protect ones privacy...  Giving ones full name, email address and phone number to an outside entity (Gallup) is a breach of said duty...  And yes...  They (WF & G) send your full name, as plain text, associated with the bank (WF) thru the internet...  It sounds like its about time for a class action suit to cease and desist this breach of duty...

I'm with you on this class action lawsuit. I work for the bank currently and [***] is about to get real. We are being pressured to do things unethical and now corporate security is investigating. This Gallop mess has everyone loosing their jobs so they (employees) manipulate system to avoid the calls to occur so they can KEEP THEIR JOBS. The managers are the main people over all of it. It is all politics and it is not right. PERIOD....I have kids and a life. pissed

It does take a bit of intelligence to write malicious or infectious code: FYI, college kids are taking Advanced Software Applications & Programming. Combine that with a persuasive email and you need only a victim to place on the receiving end of a Trojan, Rootkit, or Keylogger.  It's not paranoia, it's common sense.

I already receive phishing emails related to my WF business account, with fax or docs attached in a zip file. Now to learn Wells Fargo has passed my information out to a third party, by providing Gallup with a client list and contact information, serves only to escalate to my concerns. There is no valid justification for exposing me as a client. I’ve received 2 emails from Gallup. It is for this reason that I will close my business account at Wells Fargo. How’s that for your survey?

So if these people have the know-how to hack your account, they wouldn't actually need to call you, they would just hack into your personal computer at home or the bank itself. There are phone scams too of course, but you would actually have to verbally give them your account information over the phone. So… you know… maybe just try going through with the Gallup survey (about your service) and not giving out your account number, yeah? Pretty simple.

Well I was sent the same survey via email and I gave my rep. all 1's. She was terrible and I provided very honest feedback. I think WF should use this tool as a teaching mechanism as well. They assume that people are being honest with their feedback and I hope that Gallup has instructed them that surveys of this type are not very valid.  I hope they have a process for validation such as reviewing the call in question and providing feedback to the agent instead of simply accepting the consumers critiques.

I've worked part-time for a market research company before and I never understood why the average American is so scared of a simple phone call. Consumers always want better service, products and seemingly less automation but when asked to give this feedback they hide or are simply RUDE. It's a honest job to get your feedback to help improve the services you provide. I welcome the calls and the surveys!

Concerned Employee replies to WF Customer/Survey Taker
I am glad that you welcome the survey and your honest feedback. The problem is that many employees that work hard and do a good job are getting fired because customer's are giving 4's and not 5's. A 4 is a zero for performance purposes. And even a single 4 on one of the questions can cause you to fail the entire survey. But customers don't know that.

Understand that giving less than 5 on a Wells Fargo survey can cost that employee his job. Unless you want that person fired, please do not give a four.

Also the reason we do the costumer satisfaction survey is so that the good tellers stay on at the branch and the bad unhelpful, unfriendly tellers get fired. So really you guys have a lot of power here.

Gallup is just a messenger. Wells Fargo is Gallup`s client. It is Wells Fargo that gives customer information to Gallup to have Gallup randomly call customers to ask them to rate the services they received when they visited Wells Fargo. 5 stars is only acceptable. Anything below 5 is bad. As an employee at Wells Fargo, if you get one bad surveys you will get informal warning, then formal, then termination. So dear customers, please, if you can, we beg you to give us 5 stars. Because a 4 star from you will cost that poor teller who just helped you his/her job. This teller could be a single mom who is working to support her babies, could be a father of four, could be a poor college student who`s trying to make ends meet. We are all humans. We provide you great services, all we ask from you is to have a little mercy and spare our jobs. I am a poor college student myself and working hard to pay off my student loans. I am a teller at Wells Fargo and I already got two bad surveys in a row. When I heard that this morning I literally felt I was slapped by my customers that I love. I sincerely serve you my dear customers, so please, giving out a 5 stars does n`t cost you anything but it keeps our jobs. Receiving a 5 star means the whole world to us.
