I Have received 2 calls in 2 days at supper time from an individual named Nathan.  He states he is calling from Gallup Poll.  Interestingly, the first night he also stated he was calling from Wells Fargo?

In both instances I have informed him that this is an unlisted number. Also, this number is on the National DoNotCall list since 2003.  In both instances I have demanded he remove us from their list.

In both calls, Nathan has refused to acknowlege or agree to take us off their calling list and also refuses to hang up.  It is necessary to hang up on him.

Is there some sort of scam going on here with Gallup Poll?  Can this person continue to harass us every night at supper time?   What can I do to stop this?

ANSWER  THE PHONE. BE POLITE. THEY GOT YOUR NUMBER BECAUSE A BANK, HOSPITAL, CELL PHONE CARRIER,  OR WHERE EVER ELSE YOU DIDN'T READ THE SMALL PRINT WHERE IT SAID WE MAY CALL OR GIVE YOUR NUMBER TO DO FOLLOW UP ABOUT VISITS. Gallup is real. Gallup employees are mostly college students that need a flexible job and have to deal with rude people who can't treat others with respect. Be polite and listen. They will explain and tell you everything they can and even tell you who they need to speak to due to privacy laws. They have laws they follow and people wanted those laws. Be respectful and you will get the same back. Gallup is hired by many different organizations to do follow ups as well as do their own polls. All you have to do really is listen and if you are the person they are hired to speak with then they can do what you may ask. If they have the wrong number be polite and just let them know and they will let the Bank or other organization that that's not a good number. Keep in mind whoever the company that they are calling in behalf of get's feed back that the number is wrong it can cause you issues that you may not want. So be polite and take a min or tell them that you haven't the time. They may ask if there is a better time and if not let them know so they don't have to call you back and waste their time and yours. If your rude. you get what you sow. you may or may not get a callback. If they call you back it's on you you can't really get mad at them when it was some business you interacted with that gave them your number and wanted to get your feed back to give you better service.

You are right. Wells Fargo is heavily invested in prisons. Ergo they make BIG donations to tough-on-crime candidates. Their depositors all feel entitled, even though Wells doesn't offer any rates better than anyone else, an attitude Wells encourages. 'You are special because your Bank is Wells Fargo'
All economists not connected with government agree. Banks as we know them now are doomed. The outside estimate is 14 years. People are SO VERY TIRED of getting less because "we have a responsibility to our stockholders"  Two dollars to check your balance, select-a-time for deposits and checks so that they can collect the overdraft fees, legion hidden fees.....
You can smell the desperation. Wells and Citi collapse first.

You just ruined the innocent one. The bank is the one that doesn't care for you not the poor employees. .

Subject: Gallup Polls Company employees calling from 402-952-4444 and fraudulently stating "they are with Well Fargo Bank" should be a crime:

With all the trouble and fear that people are presently having with regard to mass debit/credit card fraud (e.g. Target data theft, and a host of many others) and trying to sort those matters out with their banks via the phone, specifically Well Fargo in my case and then expecting return phone calls from Wells Fargo regarding those important matters, it is a complete travesty that Well Fargo, or any other bank for that matter, would not curtail abusive marketing tactics for a while as a public service to their customers.  Underscore this point with the fact that an Gallup Poll employee would introduce herself on my simply answering the phone as "Hello, this is Lee Ann from Wells Fargo". An unbelievable breach of trust and security.  Not only does this constitute agredious fraud and misrepresentation, had I not been careful I could have given her sensitive information about the security matter for which I was expecting to resolve.  This is disgusting and grounds for someone in the Better Business Bureau or Federal Trade Commission (which will get this complaint next) to take some form of action against this practice if misrepresentation. The no-call list has so many loopholes that it is yet another waste of tax-payer dollars.  I am disgusted that Wells Fargo has the nerve to sell its customers personal information to Gallup Poll o others for any reason; marketing survey or otherwise.  I'll be reporting this on every other fraud abuse forum that I encounter, and then I will be severing my 25 year relationship with Wells Fargo as a result of their lack if integrity regarding my personal information.

    Disgusted,
    Ed

Well, Hell, I hate to stick up for gallup being as they just fired me after 5 years, but I've done Well's. It's a firing offence not to say, "this is Lake, with gallup, calling on behalf of Wells Fargo" We have 'with gallup' drilled and drilled and drilled .....into us. Even so people often refer to "your cd returns are too low' and 'your hours are bogus' ...etc.
Yep, fraud and the NSA were not our friends. Still, we strive for the best return and only companies that really care pay premium for our methadology..
I was fired for not being 'robotic' enough.Broke my heart. Still, Gallup does strive to be the most accurate.

Of course she says "Lee Ann" instead of her full name. You know, the same way you listed your name as "Ed H" and not your full last name. Gee I wonder why.

I hate gallup.  It's a very subjective way banks look to, to fire hard working employees.  The grading scale is 1-5, where 5's are the best and anything else is failure.  Please make sure you know (if gallup calls you), you are rating the employee, not the greedy company.

I agree.  Gallup is the worst measurement of customer engagement.  It should be based on a more fair system.  If the scale is 1-5, where 5 is the best, 4 is better than average, 3 is average...2's and 1's should be considered there is an issue with that employee.  But it doesn't work that way, since most executives are just looking for ways to cut costs.

Please give the highest score, for us is 10. Not fair the way is done but we can't change that. The survey is a little tricky too. Sad how the employees are measured today

The Gallup survey that says it's for Wells Fargo is a SCAM.  Does everyone hear that?  It's a BIG SCAM!   Do not click on any links saying they are from Gallup.  Classify it as JUNK with your mail server.  Do not answer any questions from someone saying they are from Gallup.  Hang up and discontinue the call.  Again - this is a SCAM.

Just opened two accounts at Regions Bank in Demopolis Alabama aweek ago. Already they have given Info to Gallop and who knows who else. I changed Banks from Wells Fargo because someone had my Soc Sec number and tried to open two accounts in Florida. A nightmare to straighten out. Gallop is now calling my cell phone and talked very rudely and hung up when I would not answer with a yes or no.  Saying Bye to Regions tomorrow.

You sound [***]. If they ask a yes or no question, give them a [***] yes or no. They don't want your life story and why would you want to take longer than you have to. People act like it's rocket science.

I used to work in the telemarketing field, phone numbers are put in a huge database or Call List then is distributed to any available person on the call floor. If you are repeatedly receiveing calls on the same day there is a good chance their call list is running low on Numbers. People need to realize that the majority of telemarketers do not like their job. At least they are working and receiveing a paycheck and not living off of food stamps and the state. They are people and should be respected. If you do not want to talk to them simply do not answer your phone and put it on silent. (If you are driving and talking on a cellphone you need your license taken away as it is a danger to other drivers just like drinking and driving. The cellphone is mankind's worst invention its a public nuisance, distraction, and puts other  people in danger.) If you do answer be polite  and ask nicely to be put on the DNC list which can take up to 30 days to be removed from that campaign. Each call is dispoed in separate catagories. If you are rude and obnoxious there is a very high chance that agent will put you down as a CALL BACK. Be polite their day is rough enough and is a high stress job they are there to make ends meet and some are there because there are lack of better jobs in that town/city. To dumb this down for ignorant and rude people telemarketers DO NOT HAVE CONTROL WHO THEY CALL OR WHEN THEY CALL. AN AUTOMATIC DIALER SYSTEM CALLS PHONE NUMBERS. AND DISPLAYS THE PERSONS NAME ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN.  That should be easy enough to understand?

It's not the Gallup poll's surveyors. They are just doing their jobs. It's Wells Fargo, not accepting anything less than ALL 5's...a teller getting written up for anything less than a 5...even though, because of lack of help, no limits at the drive up and one commercial deposit, at the drive up, with 6 deposits, that anger the six cars waiting. Our teller staff went from 7(3 full time, 4 part time), to 4...two full and two part time. In just one year! Staff cut in half. The gallop is just another scam to dump the tellers for younger, prettier employees... it's all about the marketing.... just like a commercial. The tellers, with the sexy young bodies, are more likely to procure more sales. Sounds crazy..' but true.
