If you look at the various posts here, there are two patterns:

    1)  short reports of various illegal collection tactics, including lawsuits won by "sewer service".  Where details are posted, one tactic reportedly used appears to be to "serve" extended relatives rather than the party sued.  This would effectively produce a legal advantage in a lawsuit and any following collection of judgement, through deniable "embarassment" as a collection tactic, while delaying or denying effective notice of the lawsuit to the party sued, which is consistent with the reports of "sewer service".  All "plausibly deniable" and easily accomplished by just looking up and deliberately (but "accidentally") serving a relative.

    2)  lengthy "detailed" reports on "losing lawsuits", "getting garnished", and "reaching settlements".  The style of the "good shill"/"bad shill" posts appears similar, so someone is working hard, over a period of years, to work these postings to an advantage.

VICTIM OF MCT GROUP replies to Profiler
notice they all involve credit unions? this company is targeting those accts..purchasing them for pennies on the dollar and then using an attorney to back them and file a levy against the borrower. then they garnish their wages.
very smart on their part, but cheisty and they are rude and have a don't give sh*t attitude.
problem is that they do not send the court pprwkr to the borrower or they somehow mess up on something so the person never gets it, hence, the court order goes through and they move forward with filing the levy and garnishing your wages!
      scam artists!!

I don't know if anyone has any information about these people that isn't merely blowing off steam or one persons opinion. I would like facts, I would like to know how many people have been wrongfully sued by them, not just where you legitimately owe money and simply can't afford to pay it yet. Has anyone had this MCT group sue them with no explanation of who the original debt is owed to or how much it is or where it came from? Just like randomly reviving a letter in the mail with no warning whatsoever (You have been sued and lost pay MCT group ($ insert ridiculous amount here) or we will levy your bank account. ??   I was apparently sued back in 2007 over an in known amount of debt from an unknown source that I am not even sure I legitimately owe and was not even invited to the court to defend myself and am just finding out about this now. and received a writ of execution from a sheriff in LA County, I do not even live in California. Can they really legally do this? and if not, will they still anyways, regardless of what the law says?  From what I have read so far in my research of this I believe they will not hesitate to break the law. Can anyone else back me up on experiencing this kind of behavior from them?  Not opinions, not just (they were rude to me) actions, facts, anything that may help us to incriminate these people or at least discredit them.

Check with an attorney in your state... replies to Anonymous
They may have to domesticate the CA judgement to collect in the state where you actually live.
That might give you a day in court before a judge in your own state.

There are enough reports consistent with "sewer service" to suggest it's not accidental.

MCT Sucks- Go to the BBB
I am so glad I am not the only one. I had such issues with them that my husband and I just said F*** it and let it go to judgement. They levied our bank accounts and garnished my wages- knew that was coming and did not try to fight it. We owed money, tried to work with MCT over the years, and got no where. We were harrassed, bullied, and "rude" would be a nice way to describe their attitude. In no way did we try to run from our debt, but there was no working with these people. We recently decided to sell our house and knew that MCT would be paid- which is what we wanted (moved to be closer to work for both of us). They were going to be paid through escrow, every dime. All they had to do was give a payoff number to escrow. Even our realtor and escrow people had trouble with them.

I left a nasty review on the BBB website with their company about how "awful" they are.

Today I called to find out some info about the account. Conversation basically went how everyone else's went trying to get information. Ended with MCT saying "We are an awful company right? So why would an awful company want to help you? Do you know what I am referring to Ma'am?"

I responded with "Ohhhhh yes. I am well aware of what you are referring to!!!"

These people got every dime they wanted and are still incredibly rude, intimidating, and relentless.

My suggestion to you all is go to their page on the BBB and let them have it.

    S.E.M.O.
I understand I owe a debt and due to a job loss I was unfortunate to have to deal with MCT group. I had a loan with a credit union and I was disputing the amount owed. I tried to collect my account information numerous times with MCT group and asked for documentation of the discrepancies I saw on my account. They failed to provide me with documentation and instead reverted to threats for litigation and intimidation. I worked with a Jason Russell (not his real name) from the MCT group and he would never listen or respond to my requests for documentation. While I understand I owe a debt, I think anyone would want to confirm the amount they owe is legitimate and why I requested for proof of all the details, charges and facts of my account. Jason Russell would often hang up on me, laugh at me and relayed he would take my home or sue me further. I went to litigation and I proved in court that many of the fees added to my accounts were not legitimate and that I was not provided with the information to confirm my account details. I ended up with a judgement owing only a fraction of the original amount they were attempting to collect.  If Jason Russell would have maintained professionalism and followed through on the information request the situation may have been solved amicably. I know debt collection is a tough job, but at the end I still think people should be treated civilly. There are many situations that leads to account default and showing some professionalism goes a long way. MCT group please take head and start treating people with the courtesy of how you would want to be treated and build a Company with a strong work ethic and reputation.

    I beat MCT Group
I too had fallen on hard times and had a voluntary repossession with Mission Federal credit Union.  Mission assigned the debt to MCT.  MCT wanted over $18k. I offered 20%. Of the debt. Two weeks later I got a summons that I was being sued.  Long story short,  my attorney was able to get the lawsuit dismissed as MCT was 2 months past the statue of limitations. So,  Dan Mathews if you're reading this... Go phuck yourself!

    Corruption
They sued me over a 3 year old 2000 dollar credit card charge off and  I tried to offer them $400 to settle and they told me my offer was insulting to the credit union and refused to work with me.  They wound up garnishing my wages, trying to get the maximum amount.   I have never felt more humiliated in my life.

    PAID DEBT
I just received a call from these people about a debt from 2008 that I paid off years ago and they are telling me that if I cant produce proof they will hit my credit and start the collection process again, sounds like a scam to me, fortunately I still have the pay off letter. I think they are pulling up this old stuff in the hopes that people haven't kept the receipt. Total [***]!!!!!

You may want to contact an attorney.. replies to PAID DEBT
They have a history of complaints of filing lawsuits and obtaining default judgements through what appears to be "sewer service".
You may want to run this by a attorney, in case you may need to sue for FDCPA violations.  You can find a consumer attorney in your state through www.naca.net, and many take FDCPA cases on contingency and will review your situation for free.

If you have a complaint about unfair action by MCT Group, especially about their getting a judgement against you without service you properly, please contact me with details: jpaval@hotmail.com   MCT got a default judgment against me without serving me notice, and I have recently gotten it overturned.  Now I will be asking the court for sanctions against MCT for deliberately failing to serve me at my known address.  It will strengthen my case if I have statements from other people whom MCT has (mis)treated this way.  If you contact me with details, I can draw up a declaration for you to sign which I can then filed with the court...   this is your chance to fight back!  John
